NES Classic Edition Thread: Now You're Playing With Power* *Sold Separately in Europe

Man, fuck Gamestop.

I wouls suggest all to wait a little longer and save some money. Check Target on Saturday and Sunday mornings and you're likely to find one.

I just can't stand the bundling of items I don't want AND charge high shipping fees.

Maturity, bitches.
I've seen ads on GAF for the Nintendo UK Store advertising the NES Classic, so perhaps they are planning on selling it again soon and accidentally put the ads up early (clicking on them takes you to the customer log in page).

Surprised it hasn't gone OOS. It's been available for at least 30 minutes now.

Maybe everyone willing to pay arm and legs all got'em already or we're nearing the "go to any retail store and pick one of many off the shelf collecting dust" phase.

Finally, I got the bundle with the controller. If the controller sucks, I will just return in store. I don't want take any chances with nintendo.

Is it easy to return part of the bundle for refund? If not, that is ok, I am ok paying extra 20 bucks and not take extra risk

That Miniboss wireless controller included in that bundle seems to be junk in reviews, unfortunately.

I've been eyeing Famicom Minis on Amazon for a while, price currently floating at around $96 with Prime shipping...

you can always return.

according to amazon reviews, the issue with disconnection is more when the battery goes low, so if you keep it charged, it seems to help the issue.

Good, I'm not buying a bullshit bundle either.

Finally got to play this on my new computer monitor. It sat right on my computer desk so the cords weren't a problem for me. It feels right to play retro games with the real controller again. Even having an NES case instead of a Wii, Wii U, or 3DS console playing it feels right.

I'm not a pro at these games but I had fun. The interface is simple and nice to look at. If only there were an official way to add games to it, it would be NES heaven.

Having experienced the difference between VC and this, I am way more open to Nintendo's plug-and-play devices. Bring on the SNES Classic!

You can return the additional items included in the GS bundles in-store. At least with the last ones.

States pretty clearly that you can't this time around:
Not applicable for return on any products that were sold as part of a bundle, unless the bundle is returned complete and in sealed new condition.

I love how all I need is a second Classic Controller, which is $10, but they're putting them in bundles and ZERO in stock as standalone.

Screw you Gamestop.

Not everyone is willing to pay for GS devilish bundle. I want an extra NES Classic but im
Not that desperate. Will wait for Amazon, BB to restock on vanilla NES Classic

When should we expect these things to actually be on the shelves and readily available to the general public? I'm under the impression, that Nintendo doesn't really care about meeting customer demand or they are worried that this thing will cannibalize some of the switch market. I hope we don't have to wait till after the switch is released to start seeing these things available.

who knows, Reggie said they would restock, but who knows for how long and how much restock we will see

The lack of controllers becoming available is really starting to grind my gears.

Buy another NES Classic and sell it without the controller. That's what I did, and I sold it for cost price. Too many folks messaged me for it even without the controller. I redirected the guy on which third party controller to buy, and he was quite happy.

just called my local gamestop in Michigan, they were out of stock yesterday, called them just now, and they said they only got 6 this morning and sold out right away.

Is that the freaking restock Reggie was talking about? LOL

Target here said they got 54, and sold through them in a day.

Got one. Gamestop Stores got them in or will get them in this week as well. Mine sold out shortly after I got mine, people are just going out and asking likely best to not call and just head out to your local one if you have time.

My reasons, you can argue them, but:

  1. It's sexy as all hell
  2. The emulator is arguably more accurate unless someone can prove otherwise
  3. The controllers (although you can get a May Flash adapter on Amazon)
  4. Coming from Nintendo does help and the price
  5. It's hackable, this is my favorite feature and without I could pass this up

If there was an enclosure exactly like this with the same quality for a Raspberry Pi or another similar embedded device that is fast and powerful enough I would consider that.

Do they only sell bundles in the stores too?

Well for one, most people on this board don't advocate piracy, which is the only way you're going to get those 30 games "for free" as you put it.

I don't advocate piracy either.

$60 is a lot of money for 30 very old games on a device that you cannot add more games to and will have to buy new units when they release when you want more games.

Finally got a Famicom Mini. Sold my NES Mini shortly after launch and waited for it to be available again. Love the design so much more than NES Mini. Took long enough for Amazon Japan to get stock again :)
Just 3€ more than a NES Mini here, including shipping and taxes from Japan :D

Why do games have to age? Why do the prices have to change? Does the fun factor change? Do the 1's and 0's change? I don't get this argument at all. School me.

Same thing happened here. Went on as soon as I saw the notification, and it was sold out by the time I got to processing payment. Getting closer I guess?
