I don't think gravure videos are going far enough. I think Nagoshi should drop some hidden Ruri Saijo and RION videos in there.

Give Patrick a real eyeful.

Thanks, looks like I'm picking up a copy of 0.

What's up with 3?

It's the worst Yakuza and by far the worst entry point. The first quarter of the game is ridiculously boring, especially if you haven't played the first two. 4 starts a new story with some new characters.

Anyone else think that video game critics shouldn't be in games? Like, they should fucking know better at this point?

Stuff like the Caravella Conundrum is cool with me since it's more of a tip of the cap to GB done on the community end of the game.

Stuff like Jessica Chobot being in Mass Effect and Dan being in R.O.M. is a bit more sketchy, but they're not playing themselves and it's still alright with me as long as they treat it like Dan did and don't talk about it in their job as a journalist.

I'd probably find it a lot more questionable if it they were in games as themselves or gave the games loads of publicity.

If games want to reference/suck up to media people, that's on them. But I think critics lending their likeness/voices/input to games is wack as fuck and I have less and less respect for Dan every day. I would figure Jeff to be the kind of boss to put his foot down on this stuff.

I don't understand why anyone gives a fuck about what Dan does with his spare time.

It isn't like the site pushed a bunch of ROM coverage on us.
It not like Dan doesn't shut up about it.

I am more annoyed by people's whole "omg integrity in games journalism" thing than I am what the hell Dan does to make a buck.

its not like suddenly the game got a 5 star score and became game of the year

Long as they aren't trying to praise/advertise the game who cares.

It's great getting so much screen time with the guys, but a lot of it is recurring and older-games coverage. I don't know if I have the legs for a multi-game Yakuza ER right now.

Dan's and Vinny's chemistry is on another level in this is the run. I seriously can't help but full on smile when watching. It's something I sorely need in regards to everything else going on in the US right now. Seriously, thanks Vinny and Dan for the smiles.

I'm confused when people say this. What do you primarily come to GB for, if not screen time and/or recurring game coverage? I fucking love that shit and couldn't really care less if they put out one QL a month if that meant more series of different games that are either first time playthroughs or revisiting an old favorite.

I feel like anyone bitching about Dan being in ROM is just looking for something to bitch about. It's such an innocuous thing, I think he's mentioned it twice maybe. The GB staff are basically treated as high caliber celebrities on Gaf, theyre personalities way before they're "journalists". Let's not get too precious.

On one hand, I do like to see their first hand impressions of new games (even if I put zero stake in their opinions).

On the other hand, quick looks are consistently some of the most boring, humourless content they produce. I actively get excited for series like This is the Run and Metal Gear, whereas I'll watch any given quick look and end up saying "yup, that was definitely a half hour of that game". The main value of quick looks is getting decent exposure to games I might not have ever played.

UPF still ranks high on my favourite series, though it definitely has highs and lows. The episode can be incredible, or a complete waste of time.

You can generally tell when they're genuinely stoked on the content they are making, because it really doesn't happen often. This is the Run is a good example, you can clearly see Vinny and Dan are enjoying asking it, and it's infectious. Almost every quick look is probably born out of "okay we just got this in, someone needs to record a quick look of it. Any takers?"
