Anyone feel differently about their Switch Pre-Order weeks later?

i've got a grey one preordered on amazon. my wife wants to play zelda, might as well keep it

I don't know what I want it for but I bought a wii u like a dumbass so this can't be any worse than that

I saved up for the Switch and after the reveal trailer was 100% that I'll pre-order and have it Day 1. After the presentation I was still set on pre-ordering but I was unsure if I'll keep it until March 3rd.

Now I'm at a point where I can't wait.

Still on the fence. I've got my pre-order, and I was excited about it, but the more I think about it I will probably give it up. I have been a Wii U owner exclusively for the past couple years and I'm just tired of Nintendo games right now. I think it might be time for something else.

I brushed the reveal off, decided I didn't want one. Then time went by and I really did want one. Got that neon preordered at amazon now.

Kind of the opposite for me. Little hype -> Hype, over a couple weeks.

Not really. I still feel it's overpriced/underpowered as someone who'll use it docked 99% of the time. Especially since I also preordered a pro controller due to wanting a traditional controller with a dpad and not having to hassle with moving the joycons back to the docked tablet to charge (or spend $30 on a charger grip) since it will be in my tv stand and not that easily accessed.

My largest current concern is how I'll be able to use headphones for game audio while docked. Running a headphone extension cable to the docked tablet is less than ideal vs. just using the Sony Golds via USB dongle on my PS4 Pro and PC or plugging my wired headphones into my DS4 or Xbox 1 Elite. I'm hoping the phone app will do game audio at least--still less than ideal but better than having a headphone extension cable going across the room. I don't have an easy way to hook up headphones otherwise in my gaming room as neither the TV or soundbar have headphone jacks, so I'm dependent on console level solutions.

In any case, I strongly doubt I'll cancel my preorder. While I feel it's overpriced personally, it's still not a big hit to my budget and I'm really excited for Zelda and Splatoon 2, looking forward to giving MK8 more time than I did on Wii U (I was just too into other games when it came out) and Mario and Fire Emblem Warriors in the fall.

So I'm not really hyped for it (other than Zelda) but it's worth it to me and I'll buy and enjoy the typical 5 or so games that's a normal year on Nintendo platforms for me since it's a third platform after PS4 and PC for me.

Since preordering, my hype for Switch has been steadily increasing to the point now it's reached a level of absurdity. My only regret is not having selected the neon Switch but I'm just going to grab a pair separately. I'm so far gone, I don't even factor the $100 extra cost. :(

It's hit me that I'm paying essentially $500 CAD (Pre-Order, Game, Pro-Controller) for Zelda.

It hurts.

Thought about cancelling pre-order twice.

I was excited prior to the event, excited during, and weeks later, still excited. Really pumped for a new Zelda and love the core concept of the system. Bums me out to see a lot of folks so negative on it, but I understand a lot of their complaints too (price is higher than it needs to be, and man I can't defend the plans for online even a little bit currently).

Zelda in a month! Feels like the most "new" Zelda has felt since Ocarina too, which is really hyping me up.

I like the Switch. Its a sexy device. I want Zelda and Mario Kart and Splatoon.

I'm a little nervous that we're four weeks from launch and know zero about Virtual Console systems and titles for launch window.

Pricing is blown out of proportion. Launch of a new aystem is always when everything is priced at it's highest. I call it "launch inflation".

I think the thought process is, "no matter what, this group of people numbering in the multiple millions is gonna buy this thing and a handful of games, and a handul of accessories to go with their new device," so they basically charge whatever they want, because it's gonna sell.

Might cancel my pre-order if I'm being honest. Just not much out there at launch for the thing except Zelda. I'm also not that hyped for Zelda, I just don't like a lot of the design decisions that have been made for the game.

I will probably wait until a holiday bundle with a game or two, after some more stuff comes out for it.

I'm pretty confident about my pre-order. I know at this point that Nintendo will sometimes disappoint me but the pros usually outweigh the cons.

No bald cap? Lies!
I feel much more confident, but I wish we would get another direct soon to go into serious detail over the online systems/services, eShop, VC and UI/Accounts etc.

But in terms of reports from those who have demoed the system and games everything sounds great. The continual announcement of indie titles slated to come out has brought more than a few games I likely will buy.

I expect we'll start to see TV spots and advertising pick up in the next week in advance of the launch which will hopefully bring more attention and buzz for the system which I think its core concept will be very easy to understand and something that might resonate with consumers. Hopefully leading to a strong and sustained sales of the system.

I don't regret it, no. Zelda made it a day one buy for me, but I'll probably pick up I Am Setsuna as well because I skipped over it on PS4. I prefer my RPGs to be portable. After that, I don't know if I'll play it much until Mario Odyssey. Maybe play Shovel Knight again if I'm really digging for something to play.

No. I didn't preorder and i don't intend to. I don't even intend on buying it. I own a NES, SNES, Gamecube, Wii, WiiU, GBA, DS, DSlite, 3DS, Game&Watch, Virtuaboy... but Nintendo dropped the ball on this one, big time. If they drop the price €100 and get rid of the paywall, i'll reconsider.

I'm still not sold on Zelda, so I'm constantly on the verge of canceling my preorder.

The cost is also a major bummer. 550$ CAD with tax to play a single game until Christmas 2017. Yikes.

Chamber

love on your sleeve
It's $360 plus tax to play Zelda basically. I'm leaning towards canceling but then again, it's fucking Zelda.

I'm getting an exciting new Zelda at launch, and promises of No More Heroes, a SSB port for giggles, Dragon Quest and a pixel art RPG from squeenix.

No regrets.

You own a VirtuaBoy and you're putting your foot down now?

Oooooookay.

I agree that paying for online is shitty but do people actually play online with their Nintendo devices? I guess I've done a couple Pokémon battles but otherwise it has been since PSO for the Gamecube that I have spent much time online on a Nintendo device.

Splatoon is very popular so I suppose that is part of it.

Even if everything else sucks it'll still have Nintendo's new games on it. Reason enough for me to not worry what the future holds for Switch.

Splatoon, Mario Kart, and Smash all have large online communities and were pretty much the cornerstones of the Wii U.

I'm really just waiting to see what the VC situation is. I'm feeling a bit better about the launch lineup but if it launches with minimal or no VC it might get cancelled. Whereas if it launches with a ton of N64 and GC support it is kept for sure.
This is exactly where I'm at. If they get Gamecube support on there day 1, that more than makes up for the lackluster launch lineup for me.

Accessory costs are high but aside from picking up a new microSD card, I don't need anything. If anything, I just can't wait till this month is over.

At the moment, the only thing I regret is that entry to get a "custom color" Switch on Nintendo's fickle website is not an option.

Otherwise, I'm pretty content. I got everything I wanted to preorder on opening day.

Mario Kart 8 ♡

Updating my thoughts in a previous post, the only thing I'm torn on now is a Pro Controller. I have about $110 in Gamestop credit and $5 down on the Pro Controller. As I'll play a ton of games in handheld mode, I'm now thinking I might just want to save that credit...

I've been getting more and more hyped the closer to release we get.
Zelda at launch, portable puyo puyo Tetris with local multiplayer soon after. Its gonna be awesome.

I do wish it had a Picross or Layton or something announced though.

Only real concerns I had were paid online and expensive Controllers, but realistically the online likely won't be too expensive and the two Joycons and grip will suffice. Considering I literally dreamed about playing ARMS last night, I'd say my hype is only getting worse!

The only thing I'm regretting is that I ordered at a retailer that is not dropping the price to 300€ in Belgium.

Actually I'm a bit bummed out about the silence since the FE direct. I was hoping for daily/weekly updates or sneak peeks to keep the hype high but it's been too long since more news came.
