February Wrasslin' |OT| Observe THIS, Brother!

If Omega wins the title do you think Okada will win the G1 this year? I want the big Omega/Okada rematch but I really want Naito to win the G1.

For me, the story this year's Omega/Okada - I would personally have Omega win the NJ Cup, take the title at Sakura Genesis, have Okada win the G1 and reclaim the title at Wrestle Kingdom, only for Naito to attack him post-match and kick start their feud again in 2018.

Although Naito is the only indispensable man in NJPW.

If he got injured, house shows would go *way* down. They could probably survive without Okada.

They've only just started relying on Naito in a drawing role, I know he's popular, but to say they could do without Okada is nuts.

I really like that idea, guess it just depends if NJPW want a best of 3 series with Omega/Okada or hold off until next year. Omega needs a win over him though otherwise he'll just look like he can't hang.

Also, yes Okada is also a draw. To say otherwise is silly.

Took 2 weeks to reach the UK and not sure what to watch first... :)

Never mind. Not a fan of how there is no easy way to share pics from your phone. Imgur doesn't provide the correct links and abload has stopped working.

Okada vs Tiger Mask W won't be for the title, so the next challenger will likely be the NJ Cup winner.

Incidentally, anyone see Naito's comments about the cup? Basically saying it's bullshit he isn't allowed to enter as IC champion, win the cup and challenge Okada, and that he's being purposefully kept away from Okada by NJPW management.

Keep working the gimmick, LOS.

It's almost like they know how to keep some heat on the Los Ingobernables gimmick.

Daisuke Sekimoto, KAI, Kengo Mashimo, Daichi Hashimoto & Shuji Ishikawa are the big name outsiders in this years Champions Carnival #ajpw

Holy shit the CC is going to be LIT this year JBL!

Okada winning the G1 again? Can you imagine the meltdowns if this happens?

I'm all for it

I'm wondering when they pull the trigger on Kenny turning face and starting to cut Japanese promos. He's already over, that would take him to the next level but I wonder if they feel obligated to have the top foreigner be nominally a "bad guy".

I just hope that they view Cody as a part-timer and thus won't push him as the new top Bullet Club guy although that is kind of already happening over in ROH from the reviews I've been reading. My
American
nightmare is that Cody is the focus of the Kenny heel turn, the instigator as Kenny was.

If you do the split, and firmly establish the Elite as separate from the Jobber BC, I'm totally fine with Cody running it. He's a good bellend.

Basing it off what Meltz was saying about recent shows. "Do without" is a relative term anyway, not saying Okada being gone would make no difference, but that Naito is the only one who would make a *massive* difference.

I hope we never have to find out though.

Dude's a lifer in shitty NWA affiliated feds, also the oldest wrestler to ever win the belt! The only 'name' fed he's worked, as far as I can tell, is Inspire Pro in Texas. Also got squashed by Big Daddy V on an episode of WWECW in 2007, lol.

maybe that's why fight nation ditched them, they demanded they flew over this jobber to defend the title

I dunno, I think they'd be in a lot of trouble if they lost either - they'd certainly have to scramble to get Tanahashi or Shibata into the main event picture, because that's just the way it works now. They need two top guys. Also, while Naito selling out Osaka's a big feather in his cap (especially as I don't think Elgin's in any way a draw yet), I'd also say that failing to sell out Sapporo's more on a lack of great interest in Suzuki-gun and a far weaker card than Naito had to draw with.

Yep, i saw him wrestle in three different tag matches in one night for Inspire Pro Wrestling back in 2015. He's ... fine, I guess?

Yup that is a very very strong lineup with all the potential to be one of the year's best tournaments. The turnaround of AJPW has had since last year's CC is amazing.

I've made it to ECW One Night Stand 2006. I watched it for whatever reason a year or two ago, but I think I'll watch it again.

Edit: oh wait, '05 was the one with that rad Tanaka/Awesome match. Maybe I'll skip a lot of this one then. Probably watch the main event, though. That was fun, I know.
