Got my copy of Curses N Chaos (Vita) yesterday. Everything was perfect!

Sitting out on today's releases. Just not my thing. Would love to hear news on two things though:

1) How is Skullgirls coming along?
2) When is Fallen Legion going on sale?

If things sell out in minutes they're clearly not making enough. This is like the artificial rarity model used by Twilight Time for their Screen Archives blu-ray releases. Push demand though low supply.

I understand the economics of why the model is needed, but there should be a sweet spot where every copy is sold, but they don't vanish within 10 minutes. They need to hit that. Better for them, better for customers. Twilight Time stuff tends to be available for a week or two before drying up.

I agree, but the reception to a couple of games not selling out in 5 minutes seems to have made them skittish, unfortunately.

Recent releases have been flying out very fast, indeed. I think the base number of units could be raised a little.
The main reason LRG doesn't want sales to last for a week or two is that they finance the next run with a run's revenue. Now, maybe their financial situation is more solid than when they made this statement.

Even one day would be better - I had to take time out of my work day to sit at a terminal hammering reload this afternoon. This is not always possible, I'm lucky I work somewhere that even allowed me to go to the site.

Maybe they'll improve things over time, but it actually seems to be going in the other direction with demand increasing quickly.

Man that sucks. Just got mine today and thankfully it's arrived without any damage but based on posts like yours and previous experiences elsewhere I think I'll avoid skimping on the cases they offer. Even if it's just a minor bit of protection, I'd rather not risk a lottery every time I order.

I swear a lot of the time the damage is on Royal Mail's side as that's where the tracking process ends.

I think I'll be buying better protection from now on too.

What's this about the playing cards code already out and being used? I haven't received it, and no, not in the spam folder either. Hmm.

Wish i could bundle the cards with my skullgirls order or had the option to delay being sent stranger's wrath til they were ready because at this rate i have a feeling that i'll miss out on darius burst having to mess around with this code if the speed of soldner x-2 selling out is anything to go by

Forgot to mention that I successfully ordered Dear Ester, Swindle (vita) and my Oddworld cards this morning.

But I have to admit that I wasn't too enthused with today's games...

The kind of ironic thing was that the day The Swindle goes on sale for $25, a bundle of 10 curve Digital games (including The Swindle) does in sale for $20 on Xbox. I mean I know the point of these games being physical is different but it's just like...yeesh.

Yeah, I saw that too, lol.

After all my grumbling I ordered Dear Esther. Between it having shiny gold foil and being the first game to break my perfect PS4 run, I weakened. Also, I really like The Swindle, so if I balance the two then I end up doing ok. That's how logic works, right?

I mean, it was free on PS+ just last month too, like most LRG games have been at some point. But it works because they're collectors items. I think if they were to publish these games with no limit on amount, they would actually sell less.

I knew you would cave. ;-)

Once you skip your first one it gets so much easier. And you save a lot of money from not buying games you wouldn't otherwise care about.

I wish they'd say something about DariusBurst CS in the next few days. The 60% off Steam sale for it ends Monday and I'm very close to getting it there, but I have a feeling they won't be saying anything else before then. I wish I could find out if the PS4 physical edition will come with the DLC.

During our next run we'll hit our 100,000th order since starting. Whoever gets order #100000 will get something very special in their order!

Wow, they're going to give the 100Kth order a voucher for all future LRG releases for free (excluding shipping)? That's mighty generous.

Now that I've set expectations so high people will inevitably be disappointed with whatever it really is.

Got my copy of Oxenfree yesterday in UK. Was delivered via yodel, small black bubble bag. no damage to box, no disc rattle so I'm more than pleased. Nice to have a physical copy and nice postcard to go with my soundtrack Vinyl from iam8bit.
Got to love Oxenfree.

Probably Chinese government subsidies.

Probably but actually there are lots of companies in the US which offer better international shipping rates, too. I can order 3 games from Amazon and it only costs me $6-8 for international shipping, including tracking.

Amazon probably saves on shipping costs by regularly shipping in bulk, so the savings will be passed on to the customer.

Shipping in bulk? You mean, like 1000's of copies of a certain game at once? Sort of like LRG does? ;-)

I don't think they necessarily ship in bulk. Rather they negotiate with postal services for cheaper contracts. And because they are so big and everyone wants their business, they get the best rates.
