On the topic of armor- I know hero characters drop recipes to their gears, but what determines whether the blacksmith gets recipes for 'normal' gear?

You give Kagatsuchi's Magatamas to Tome to upgrade the blacksmith. A couple are given as quest rewards for sub-missions, while 3 are hidden throughout the game.

Literally impossible to get them from revenants. This has been tested to hell and back. Any Divine item drop with lv 150 has a chance of having a +#, with higher level missions and mission rewards naturally having both a higher chance of it and the +# can be higher.

Zephizach has mentioned seeing drops as high as +6 in the late NG+ missions.

You more than likely can. Just pick any item you want to forge, then place the selector on the 'Forge' button. You should have a tooltip of pressing triangle to apply Divine shards, which will enable the results to be divine. Invest more shards, up to 10, and you have better chances of the item actually being divine.

Press triangle before forging

Thanks guys!

How do you really activate the "clash/push down and stay down" move when exhausting an enemy. Did it randomly, then never happens again when I deliberately tried to do it.

OHHHHH.... so that's where it's from, I thought those were only to improve your chances of making purple gear! Thanks!

You know what? I actually have no idea. I thought they were for expanding stock - I didn't realize that it improved your forging rates and doing a quick google the forge rates is always the thing that's referenced. Sorry about that =\

IWhat's the name of the damage over time ability you get when you stack elemental DoT on someone? Detox or something...

The multiple de-buff state is called confusion. It's indicated in the Master of Chaos trophy with the description: "Confused an enemy for the first time." And it holds the same icon in the trophy image.

That's the closest to official we have.

Oh.... then we're back to square one lol

We have been calling it Discord apparently because that was the name from the demo, but yeah it might be confusion now

Took me 10 tries to beat N+O.

Really good fight, one of my favourites of the game.

My question is: I got a Visitor's Kabuto from a Revenant. I can't seem to rehashion my other headware to look like it. Is this a bug? :/

I'm starting the first main mission in region 5 today after I spent some time doing twilight missions and helping people out with H
ino-enma
and I decided to check on my playtime on a whim. Almost 85 hours! I couldn't believe it, it certainly hasn't felt that long. I love this game so much!

End Credits song is really out of place...

Like I feel like I just finished watching a lifetime movie event about growing up in the hood and finding love amidst the ghetto type of song.

You can put multiple debuffs?!

I never even tried that! Do the different elements stack in different ways? Like does fire and water cause the fire DOT to tick harder?

Yep. I was missing one of the magatamas and just went to grab it. Didn't notice a change in available gear. Whoops.
What are the locations of the 3 that aren't side mission rewards? I'm still missing one and the last time I tried applying google-fu on their locations I came up with nothing.

Visitor's Dragon Kabuto? I think that was the helmet along with the Good Fox Kabuto that were JP exclusives.

One came with the manga, and the other in Famitsu.

I think you can only refashion and craft it if you actually had them yourself.

What is this about people dying in certain locations? Is it about loot-farming? Is there an example which I could try?

Edit: Sorry, still practising about posting. I write mostly on mobile. :/

I got one. Got the one with the blue horns. (12 hours ago, Final main mission, near the elevator) I just checked the Refashion list and didn't see it first-glance. :/

The (region 3 boss spoilers?)
Ice Lady boss, is she considered to be one of the easiest ones or?
I died to her three times before I got to understand her moveset, and she turned into a piece of cake.

Nioh's bosses are quite interesting. The first impression most of them have given me so far (aside from the ridiculously easy spider boss) is that they're unfairly difficult at start, with long life bars. But as soon as you understand their limited movesets (which they spam all the way through), it simply becomes a battle of attrition against their large health pools. I hope later bosses change things up a bit.

Found some videos on youtube of their locations. He titled them "Nioh Guide - Forge Upgrade ## (Kagatsuchi's Magatama Location)". I think videos 1 and 3 are the ones that are direct rewards from submissions, while the others require exploration.

But neither that boss nor Hino-Enma have particularly large health pools. They are actually quite squishy once you get an opportunity to go to town on them.

Thanks, I found the one that I'm missing from the vids. Now it is only a matter of picking it up.

It depends on how you want to play.

I try to just do Ki damage until I can break them and then go crazy on their health bar. Also searching and probing for their weak points which cause an easy ki break is so rewarding. When I realised I could break the lightning thing by using low stance to hit his weak spot, it went from being a fight I hated to a fight I loved.

I also have a dumb need to parry everything that's possible to parry because it looks so I'm cool.

5 regions with all side missions beaten yesterday eveni g. Man do some side missions give you alot of grief, that one with 2 raven tengu and then a boss mob to boot.. and meeting previously annoying bosses like the winged Gun asshole is also causing grief.. but oh Well.

51 hrs in and lvl 100 and gonna start region 6 later today. :)

What the actual fuck is the (last region spoiler)

boss fight? Am I supposed to run around constantly? Seriously? That fight was the first time I got the discord debuff on myself. I think I'll try again tomorrow.

Did you find the one that is a sub quest in the spider castle? It's in a chest. If you have then I got nothing (030)

Here's a question, if you put water buff on your spear that's got fire damage, can you cause discord with that by itself? Or does the water negate the fire base damage?

Replaces it.

You'd have to apply the fire to the enemy, water talisman, and then apply the other debuff.

No just
take care of each head one by one. Bait one into doing an attack, run away from it and immediately dash to it's "neck" where you'll be able to get 4 or 5 hits in. Be mobile as the other heads will constantly try to hit you with fireballs and stuff.

Spainkiller

the man who sold the world
And always focus on the head right next to the one you just killed, so you'll be relatively safe from the other side.

I should note that some enemies have elemental resistance so you'll have a harder time trying to get elements to proc on them. It you don't know what elements they're weak against try this general rule:

Lightning < water < fire < earth < wind < Lightning

Trying to get the Master of Quality trophy. Apparently I'm only missing Nue Claw and material from the final boss. I've killed like 8 Nue. How the fuck am I unlucky enough to not get a single one of its crafting material, lol.

Are you using kodama blessing + the rabbit summon LW to do the final hit? On itself the summon adds up to 115 luck at level 30 ( 100 at level 1)

Spainkiller

I got one on my second try after equipping the bunny guardian and said charms, so I guess I got lucky. Good luck, man.

On a side note: I just found out that one of today's twilight missions is the last one I need (The Best and Worse). Aaaaargh, this is gonna be a long seven hours before I get home and collect my plat! ^^

I'm about to finish region 5 and the level design is quite refreshing in comparison to regions 3-4, really liked that Sekigahara level. I also love that mid-level bosses are becoming more usual, it's a nice change of pace
