Where are the previews?!!!

a second in internet life is like an eternity in real life. C'mon!

If by "really" you mean you didn't know. Then I think it is accurate that the Wii U did not suffer a financial loss as big as PS3. This is not including factors such as mind share which reaaaally changes the picture.

If by "really" you mean "are we really going down this route"... I urge you to stop. This is not a Wii U vs. PS3 thread, take it elsewhere.

No VC at launch? Expected, but it still sucks. Looks like the console is going to be as barebones as it could be.

I feel like early adopters should be crazy rewarded with such a sparse library at launch. And the simplest and dare I say cheapest solution would be to stuff our pink cheecks with Virtual Console games.
I'm seriously suggesting giving it away like the ambassador program. But at launch as opposed to reactionary.
Oh no, I already had enough bad experiences with the 3DS GBA ambassador games (missing out on them) to know I don't want this to be a thing. Knowing Nintendo, they'd gift 5 GC games once and completely forget to put them up for sale later.

I was honestly hoping for Shovel Knight, 'cause I somehow never played it on PC despite having it somewhere (just not in the mood), so Zelda/Shovel Knight is the best possible combination for Launch to me and I'm happy :)

Given that I own pretty much all VC games that would interest me already anyway, I'm not too bummed out.

So yeah, I'm still in :)

For X periods anyway, when measured against the same x periods, i believe, yes. There was a $5 billion loss attributable to the system as I recall, and it was buried in sonys financials. The health of the ps3 ecosystem recovered nicely through that generation way better than the wii u ever did, so it may be difficult to do an apples to apples comparison. Ill have to look into it. But i do not think they recovered the initial loss in any spectacular fashion.

Yeah!!!!! Why don't they put a 1*2cm box !!!! SO COOL for retailers and getting some COOL artwork on the front of your packaging that get your game noticed !!! Why did they do the SAME as DS, 3DS, Vita which had small cartridges too ? I can't think of an answer ! Such waste!

Chill my friend - that's not what I meant at all.

My point stands, it's a giant box for a tiny little cartridge.

Either change the box somehow or add in some instructions so at least you get extras in there...

It really isn't.

'Understandable' in that I can understand why, not that I necessarily support the reasons. Those being that this is Nintendo, and they're likely focusing everything on getting Zelda and their limited launch line-up ready to go. While the fact they've already ported several games to the Wii U and 3DS should make it relatively easy, the differences in architecture are likely to mean re-porting to Switch will require at least some small effort, which Nintendo may not be willing to expend at this time.

Also should be interesting to see some proper previews/reviews.

For Nintendo a "soft" launch in March is good. The system is effectively sold out. And they have many months to build up a software library to push come the holidays.

Now if they launched like this in October with the same release schedule, they'd be in trouble. For now being a Zelda machine is fine. And it's very smart to focus on Indie support now. They need to create an idea that the Switch is the choice for Indie games. Those types of games can really benefit from the play anywhere philosophy of the Switch.

Watching the videos and seeing the neon joy cons compare to grey im glad i got neon.

That grey looks like it was black once and lost its color because it was sitting in the sun for a year.
