The technique (Stellar Forge) Frontier uses to generate the star systems sometimes (read rare) creates weird systems. When such a thing happens and gets detected it'll get patched in a future update. In older versions it was there was a planet that had an orbit inside the rings of another planet.

In a game with 400 billion systems a few are bound to have errors.

Where they can they use real data. Where they can't they use the Stellar Forge, it does a great job. All planets and stars have actual orbits and spin around their own axis as you'd expect them too, makes for some amazing time lapses.

Are you constantly playing in 4K mode? The game crashes all the time in 4K mode for me and most other people since the latest patch. I can play for an hour when I'm lucky until it crashes. Thats why I had to play in enriched mode all the time lately.

Yeah, have the latest patch installed, haven't changed from 4K mode since the start. Only changed to Enriched once to see but the aliasing and shimmering was too much of a compromise for some enhanced effects.

I haven't had a single crash or any kind of issue with the game so far. I've done 3~4 hour stretches. I'm almost to the end of the story, game's been running like a charm.
