I get the feeling Jeff is going to end up enjoying Horizon significantly more than Zelda. Seems like it scratches more of his itches

Talking about weird Nintendo fans some more, how about this one, in the joy-con desyncing thread, probably referring to Jeff and the CNET 'kickstandgate' video.
The entire internet is in a tizzy.

I like how most places are possibly damaging their free Switch's to show they're might be issues.

Really guy? Really?

C'mon now, reviewers shouldn't stress test new tech to see how durable it is. Shut up it's all fine they're just trying to find problems to create bad press

probably don't need it but /s

(unfortunately Jonathan Blow is in it)

Does the internet hate Jonathan Blow? I haven't kept up

I've never enjoyed an assassin's creed, I think the max I got was 5 hours into Black Flag. But same, I'm really curious to see what they've done with this extra time and I don't know why

I mean, you said it yourself and I'm kind of in the same boat. Interested to see how much they really did with the extra time, and kind of treating it as a make or break moment for me with the franchise.

Watching the Vinnyvania 2 episode with John Drake shilling Amplitude and talking about his confidence in Phil and Microsoft in supporting the kinect just post solo bundle announcement is even more sad in hindsight.

He's kind of pretentious, although the last time I heard him talk he seemed to have reigned that in a bit.

Yeah true. Regarding Blow, he's said some dumb stuff recently surrounding the Milo Berkeley protests

John Drake shilling Amplitude.

I dont know why, but I had a particularly negative emotion to this when it was announced a couple of years ago.

I couldn't quite get my hear around the idea that a major developer the size of Harmonix was actively going to the marketplace to find an extra $million (or whatever it was) to build a game.

I felt like they should have the resources and funding in place to build that game, take it to market and let me decide if I wanted to support it - instead of the other way around.

Anyway - I never did play it and all suggestions are that it's average-to-bad.

Sometimes I think back to Mordor winning GOTY and just cringe, the way I cringe watching The Office.

I hope the sequel fleshes out the formula to make the kind of game GB thought the original was.

What the heck is Harmonix doing these days?

Kinda impressed they have survived this far but one has to wonder how much longer they can keep that going if they dont have something more substantial sooner or later.

2014 was a real stinker of a year.

I liked Mordor. What was it up against again?
"Runners-up: Bayonetta 2, Far Cry 4, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Jazzpunk, Shovel Knight, Mario Kart 8, Destiny"

Oh and they snubbed Wolfenstein, obviously.

Jeff driving to the IGN office for a live stream. Video game foundation thing.

When is that? I've always wanted some kinda sit down podcast between Jeff and Peer Schneider just talking shop. They've both been doing it longer than about anybody else still covering games.

Vinny and Dan Sniper Elite co-op needs to happen, that game actually looks pretty cool.

The dominatrix thing in Yakuza was hilarious. I hope that girl comes back as a character.

VR games. They released Harmonix Music VR last year and are releasing Rock Band VR soon. Plus still trying to support Rock Band 4. I do wonder how much longer they may have if these ventures dont pan out well.

I mean - a couple of years after, I think it's quite easy to argue the case for a few of those other games.

I like FC4 more at the time (and still do).

Bayonetta 2 is probably the best game for the WiiU.

Destiny is a very fully featured product now and very fun to play.

Hearthstone is huge and very popular.

Yeah - maybe Mordor wasn't the right choice. Why did it win again?
