Old Grata dialogue...

Lmao

Lmao indeed. And it was a nice subtle dig at religious fanaticism too, loved it.

And btw, its Odd Grata, not old. :p

Loved this part, pretty early on:

Village Elder: "The Goddess has spoken!"
Aloy: "Uh, that's a door..."

I laughed too. Aloy's sense of humor is amazing. Another great one:

Gate Soldier after Aloy defeats a thousand machines and saves the day: "Sun be praised!" (or something like that)
Aloy: "Wasnt the sun getting his ass kicked down here..."

LOL

How old is Aloy now because it seems like every interaction I have with a guy that isn't asking for help I feel like they are hitting on her. And one guy looked twice her age.

Opening up my copy and seeing my favorite baseball player of all time Griffey in his signature pose was awesome.

Do they hate baby alloy bcause she is ginger? I lthink I might have missed something.

I thought she was cute
that moment when she first gets her device and you see her watch that hologram with the father telling his kid that he misses them or is proud of them or something hit me. Because you saw her reaction like she wished she had that from a parent.

So far I'm about 3 hours in. Just exploring the world and doing some side quests as they pop up. I'm very intrigued by the story so far. Aloy is a wonderful protagonist and she is voice acted really well.
Aloy as a child was adorable. I agree with the poster above. Her reactions to the hologram were adorable and really gave her some nice characterization there.
Side quests have been fun and good quality.

Combat is fantastic. It can be pretty tough. I decided to play the game on hard mode to start and it can be hectic when things really hit the fan. Visually, this game is beyond anything else and I'm on an OG PS4. I mean, holy shit this game. Oh, and the music... oh the music is incredible.

From what I've played, Guerrilla has nailed this. I'm having more fun playing this anything for the past long, long while. I've really stopped caring about open world games but this game has me hooked.

I can't wait have it downloading now and have tried to avoid any spoilers.

*So not to derail the thread but people actually create Metacritic User accounts just to give a game a bad review? Thats pathetic.

Oh wow, the boot sequence...this music...what am I feeling...

I am in love with the title theme, I just stared at the screen so emotional listening to the music. Especially after that intro.

Just got through the intro and man I gotta say that was such a fantastic world building in the beginning with aloy that I thought was refreshing as hell. Also this game is beyond fucking gorgeous. My pro purchase is worth it for this.

I think she is too. She was collecting blueberries then I look up and some bitch must of thrown her in a well or something. I'm just wondering if I missed the reason she is an outcast. I mean she is only like six.

There are some people that "don't get it."

Then there are the multitudes that do. So glad it seems to be clicking at a very high rate!

Come on, just because someone doesn't like something doesn't mean it's because they "don't get it". This isn't Primer

No. I mean people literally saying "I don't get why..." or "I don't see how..." (for example: "I don't get how people are enjoying the story." "I don't see how the combat is any more engaging than ____________").

Yeah I loved this.

Guys how do we access the outfits from the deluxe edition? Is it a vendor or they just show up in your inventory? Thanks.

I've only finished the opening "tutorial" part (took about 2-3 hours). Some of the writing impressed me, but the ending of that part wasn't handled very well.
Aloy handles Rost dying like a champ, but breaks down once a door doesn't recognize her? Rost's death had like no emotional impact.

All at the same time? Okay, that sounds fucking nuts. I really like that this game throws packs at you.

Yeah, and often unexpected. So often I'll be having this epic battle with something massive, and before I know it, our throwdown has accidentally strayed into a pack of something else--or those machines have come over to see what the fuss is about.

Man, what is up with the PS4's wifi. I started downloading last night at midnight, left the console on as I went to work and it only managed to download 11 GB seventeen hours later. It was still downloading with an estimated 99+ hours remaining!

That's with a console connected to a router that's sitting six inches away; A router that gives me no problems with any of my other devices.

Connected with ethernet and it now estimates 3 hours.

How did they manage to have the best looking game by FAR beside uncharted 4 (even .... the 4K is insane here ) in open world game , with such a good frame rate ?

It's so ahead of anything else ... I love my pro ... damn

Yeah, like I said on the last page, the problem is NOT that attacks miss, the problem is that attacks that should miss, hit. It makes melee combat too easy. The biggest specific issue being that Aloy can be several meters away from an enemy and facing the wrong direction, and hitting melee will spin her around and warp her to the enemy and the attack will connect. It shouldn't be that way. In that scenario, she should swing her stick and miss.

So you mean to say that it's consistently bad.

I don't agree, I think it's pretty useful and it's not too powerful on the large machines. It's fun to see and it feels good, imo. AI could use an upgrade though, lol.

Anyway, I was just hunting two
Fire Bellowbacks
, and it took time. Was fun af too, with the way they would attack and retreat when they couldn't tell where I was. I ended up using the trees to
block their flaming cannon ball attack
, but it still took time to
destroy their cargo sac
...

Time to upgrade my bows.
