Super Robot Wars V |OT| V is for Voyage! There's an ENG version!

It's just a version of the game with the addition of vocal songs, which you can of course do yourself.

EDIT: Does the BGM list update as the game progresses? Its strange the SEED only has ignition and 00 doesnt even have the tracks from the earlier games.

About custom music, It seems that it gets downloaded on the HDD. does this mean i can unplug the flash drive after importing the music?

Also, does anyone know how to do it exactly? I formatted my drive to fat32, created a folder called SRWMUSIC and put the tracks in there(MP3). But when I open up the device, it says custom music list was not updated.

Yeah you don't need to keep the flash drive in the PS4 to use it.

I just highlight the track/attack bgm I want to replace and I believe hit square, then options to "refresh" and it will scan the drive and copy everything over.

Didn't know about the custom BGM, gonna have to get a flash drive now. My copy arrived yesterday and I just wrapped up Nioh so I'll probably start playing today if I can peel myself away from Zelda :(

In a complete twist and nonsensical setup, I've been remote playing the PS4 version of SRWV on my Vita while my wife plays the Switch version of Zelda on the TV. Go figure.

(And yes, I'm waiting for physical Vita copy to arrive)

Hm, was anyone able to get their DLC to work on a different account but on the same PS4? I entered the DLC code into my JP account but the DLC unit special scenario didn't show up after stage 1 when I played on my US account.

Make sure the PS4 is the primary console for both accounts and that the DLC is downloaded ? That's all I can think of right now.
I bought the Asia edition digitally, and I've had no trouble using the DLCs with my EU account. I'd be pretty surprised if the JP version behaved differently.

im dumb. they didnt install cause I entered the code before I even installed the game off the disc. thanks!

also, how will they show up now that i'm on scenario 4? i guess I could just restart the game since that's not too much time spent yet if they won't show up till much later.

edit: nvm, looks like they just show up in your squad list

I just finished scenario 24 on the Londo Bell route, I'm a bit slow. I absolutely loved what they did with the Unicorn x CCA x ZZ x Hathaway x 00 crossover. It's nothing mind blowing, but it worked really well.

Heh. Right now SRW is a game I'm playing whenever I want to take a break from Nier. The same will happen when I beat it and start on Zelda. Way too much stuff lol. I'm in for the long haul with this game.

Looking at the requirements for the secret route... I hope I get it in the first playthrough. Going to have to fight the urge to just having a unit or two have hundreds of kills.

This is completely possible. When I got to the split choice I posted earlier, I had Ange with 194 kills, Chitose (female OG) with 163 and Ruri with 100 lol

what's the good stuff to pick up from skill route? also should i wait till i finish the factory tier1 to tier4 skills before i spend TacP on other stuff?

You can get whatever skills you want for your characters. What works for them depends on the type of unit. There's no restriction on the number of skills you can give a character so there's no need to worry.

I would go for the TacP Tiers first as they're very powerful then go for parts/skills myself.

Noob question, how do I view the number of units killed by a pilot? I can see score number when viewing pilot info, is that the same thing?

What is the best price for the Cita version ATM? Still Play Asia? Looks like it's sold out there ATM.

Do these titles go on sale very often?

If I were to only get one, would you guys recommend this or Gundam Breaker/build fighters tri? I know there completely different, just curious.

What are the requirements to unlock the following secret units? Akarasu wiki doesn't have any info yet:

Full Armor ZZ Gundam
Alpha Azieru
Xi Gundam Missile Pod

Also is there detail on how to get the Bonta-Kun secret stage? That part is missing info on Akarasu as well.

Really like how there's actual secrets in this one again. Also smaller units that were left out in Z3 because Z3 was dumb. As I get further and further in V it really feels like this whole game is one big apology game for Z3 and apology accepted because this is great and what licensed SRW should be! Still feeling like this is the best licensed SRW since Z2-1 easily.

For FA ZZ Gundam, it's probably just getting Judau to be an Ace. Maybe he has to fight Marida/Ple 12 as well. I think it's the ace bonus for Hathaway/Xi Gundam, but I'm less sure there.

Alpha Azieru/ Loni
Uncomfirmed
- Space route on 28th stage
- Banagher and Hathway must fight her
- Banagher must deal the final blow (unconfirmed)
- Space route on 37th stage
- Convince her with either one of Hathaway or Banagher

Full Amor ZZ
Unconfirmed. Incomplete
- Judo must score 60 kills before stage 36
Doesn't automatically unlock on second run so there must be an additional requirement.

Xi Missile Pod
Unconfirmed.
Hathway must score 60 kills or higher before the route split at stage 37. Whatever route you pick after that stage, it will unlock anyway if the he's above 60 kills.

This cross ange ara ara girl

Maybe I should try this anime

I really, really, really hope they drop it after V. I can't live with the idea of going through another Macross Frontier spam-athon of bad plots across every single SRW in the last ten years. I just can't.

Maybe we'll get Geass 3 in the next SRW. 👌

Yeah, I'm just skipping through pretty much all the Cross Ange shit. Such sweet mech designs wasted.

Yes, score is the number of units killed by the pilot.

Thanks.

Another question, I just learned about Potential skill (HP decreases cause Hit, Evade, Critical, DEF rates increase) after witnessing Great Mazinger destroying enemies as his HP goes lower.

How viable is this skill throughout the game? Is it still effective for end game enemies?

There's actually a pretty big backlog of recent mecha shows that are likely to be included before one that hasn't even aired yet.

I'm surprised IBO season 1 didn't make it since Barbatos is in like every Gundam game now.

Just recieved my game, anything i should know? I saw people talking about a true ending route! how do i get that? Since i don't want to replay it fully! (too much games to do)

Also which character should i pick? soji looks more interesting going by the tutorial, but i usually choose the girl characters when i have the choice!

Got to play a bit more yesterday, and oh my god I am in love with MightGaine. I had never heard of it before, but was seeing people here go on about it, and now I really want to check out the show. Looks like the kind of show that should have been on next to Zoids back in the day.

As a lapsed fan, I'm having a bit of fun, but damn if Bamco didn't double down on all of the dumb shit that made me quit in the first place.

At least being able to actually understand the cutscenes takes some of the sting away from how mindless the actual game is.

What "dumb shit"? I'm curious what people don't like about SRW besides the simple srpg mechanics.

I've always seen the games as visual novels with cool animations, the only strategy is for SR points (and sometimes they can be trial/error annoying), otherwise you use the units you want and go beat up the enemies while watching a fun story.

Heck, I've played these for a good while just to watch the fireworks, having near zero understanding of the written Japanese language.
Though I've also always found the main game play loop to be pretty addictive.

I'm looking forward to hopping into this one... Once I finish up BOTW.

This game really is everything I ever wanted from a first time player. And there's still so much for me left to go through. It would be nice if there was a bit more of a challenge at some parts, but it's just so much damn fun to use all of these characters in fights together, and to see all of the weird crossover stuff.

Yeah, Might Gaine has been the revelation for me so far. I was aware of its existence back in the day, but seeing it in here really makes me want to check the show out. It's been really awesome in here.

I'm not sure. Maybe for some they are just burnt out? I've been playing since @3 came out and pretty much played one SRW game a year. By Z3 I was pretty burnt out myself. It didn't help that, imo, Z3 wasn't very good so I didn't bother finishing those games. Had a year or two of break from the series until Moon Dwellers which helped a lot. I loved Moon Dwellers and this game so far is a ton of fun.
