Puzzle & Dragons |OT4| Co-op Edition: Stoning With Friends

I'd be interested in running a Minerva cheese team at some point given I just hypermaxed my Minerva for Krishna A1 trial runs (still have not succeeded), and I have plenty of Sarias and Tsubakis and Gadiuses.

I just figured I would google some reddit thread or something that spelled out exactly what I need. I know the puppeteer is a part of it and I'm willing to blow the MP -- almost at 600k without having opened the first 100k gift. I just wish my alt had a team capable of farming Zaerog with me...

So they are thinking of doing dungeons that drop REM gods but cost stones to enter?

I hoe it`s not gonna be a loophole for gacha drops as evo mats...

This would be worth it depending on the circumstance -- if it's 5 stones for a guaranteed god of a specific pantheon you don't have a lot of, that's definitely worth it. More than 5 probably not, a bigger pool of gods with some duds is more complicated, etc.

Didn't they already kinda sorta fudge the REM-as-evo-mat thing with the Ace & Ana evos? Not the same of course but it's still awkward.

If the dungeons are Annihilation or something then it's a hard pass from me unless there's a guaranteed cheese. I'd love an Indra ;__;

I don't have Baldin, Ilm, or Saria. My compatible full board changers are Leilan and Gadius. I could do Leilan + Yamato or Gadius + Misato for burst. I do have Sakuya and Fire Swordsman. I'm also using Shinra Sun God Apollo instead of Lifive.

What about plusses? Minerva is already hyper.

You need a way to deal with Lifive, which means 5 turns of bind clear on unbindable cards. Usually this is done with Sakuya+RGY/RDS.

Supposedly, if they go through with it, the god given out will be random. I'd expect that to make it count as just another form of gacha.

but will we get another stone for completing the dungeon

I'd inherit sakuya on Minerva and look for a minerva friend with an inherit--most people go with RGY. I friended you when trying to beat zeus dragon using a zombie team and I regularly run Minerva with an ilm inherit. Not sure how useful that is for A3, but it is good for general purposes. Apollo will give you a spike, but my understanding is that lifivre's two turn haste can be important for getting the puppet up in a more timely fashion.

Is that just to counter skill delay? I could put up to 5 SDR latents on the puppet. I can farm them easily with ALB.

Someone in that reddit thread said the article dont actually say its REM patheons, but REM like cards.

If its cards that are just decend drops that are top tier then I'm fine with a stone cost to enter. If its actually REM cards then "hell naw". I would want my money back if I saw people getting cards for less stones then I needed pulling the REM.

Again, I'm not sure, as I am only putting the team together just now, but I think it has more to do with getting the puppet up when under pressure. It is just something that I've heard mentioned.

Here's how my minerva A3 runs generally go:
I use the template cheese team
Revo Minerva (Awoken Sakuya)
El Dorado (Saria)
El Dorado (Baldin)
Lifive (Revo Hades)
Charité
Revo Minerva(Red Guan Yu)

SBR badge
all with 5 fire resists.

Floor 1, 2, and 3 are scary. If I get past those I'm usually home free (unless I badly misplay or skyfall kill before Charité is back up)

Floor 1: If I resist both spawns I'll take my time here and stall up charité. If I dont, or Kappa spawns I kill ASAP. Kappa's skyfall is a pain in the ass. 9/10 runs I just have to kill and hope for a better spawn on floor 2.

Floor 2: hit the offending enemy to a resistable color. Liza is worrisome if you knock her blue but everyone else should be manageable, this is one of those skyfall places that suck. Diza's time debuff and poison spawns are annoying but Red Guan Yu can clear poisons and you can stall out the time debuff once you're ready to move on.

Floor 3: Pray Charité is up otherwise you're screwed. Lifive's haste is most used here for me. It means I only need 7 stall turns instead of 9 to get Charité up which can mean life or death here.

Other problematic floors:

Floor 7 Tamas: you can get wrecked here with a bad spawn if your unbinds are down, you're absolutely boned if you get skill bound. If the bind Lifive and skill bind the team hope you have enough reds and yellows to kill.

Floor 8 Killer Latent: if you get heart trolled and you're skill bound, you're dead. Popping Saria here is better than Charité, only do this if you need hearts though.

Floor 10 Jord: use Lifive's haste to bring back Charité and stall, or if you have a board use it to kill her

Floor 14 Zera/Gran: you can either pop Charité and stall, or play their game since you resist both. I'll play with Gran but take no chances with Zera.

Floor 16 Thoth/Osiris: Thoth sucks. Again a useful reason for Lifive though the enhance can work against you here. You can eat all of his attacks without using Charité though.
Osiris sucks because skyfall, low hp and the potential to end you if you try to sweep and fail. Only go for the Osiris kill if you KNOW you will kill him, IE: 6 reds and 3 yellows.

Floor 18 Kagu/Lakshmi: Minor things, don't trip Hino's resolve, don't go into the floor with jammers you can't clear. Funny thing: you can resist Lak's skill bind with the badge. Doesn't mean much but it's a thing.

Floor 19 Grisar: Only noting this as arguably the PRIMARY reason RGY is recommended. You can stall with Charité but eventually the board will be all poison, you need a way to get rid of that shit and not die.

Floor 21 Lifive: This is why you need 5 turns of bind clearing. You probably won't kill him before he does his team bind. Even with the crazy resist of this team his burst end attack WILL kill you if you aren't at full resist (1.3 million damage yo).

Floor 22 Beelzebub: Board change is probably your only option if you didn't stall back up on Lifive. Sky fall troll can bring you to the radar, or have to deal with another full poison board. This sucks and there isn't a lot you can do about it.

Floor 23 Radars: Strats are everywhere, Hera and Heph are free, Noah is kind of free if you can bind clear, Gaia is free but takes FOREVER if she starts chaining skill delays, Zeus requires the following:
-Pop Charité
-keep him between 90-100% HP until Charite is back up.
-Pop Sakuya, 25% gravity, Baldin, Saria, Red Guan Yu
-Hit really hard
-Eat the hit (yay baldin)
-Pop Charite, stall back up and kill

Floor 24 Kali: Charité and plink her down I only put this here because...don't forget to charité

I hear princess soprano is hard to beat.

fake edit: I hear princess soprano beats it hard

fake edit two - there is a great post on reddit right now called "wasting your free 390k mp correctly" and it has a really well thought out discussion on MP monsters.

(bah when you edit spelling so there is a edit notification that totally detracts from the fake edit thing)

ty for the informative responses. Looks like Ragdrag is still a good buy since the other ones are leaders and I'm not really wanting for good leads.

I was reading a tier list and it says Acala is one of the better leads you can use, but I'm really really bad at setting up cross formations. If you managed to get 9 orbs in a 3x3 formation, does it still count the fact that there's a cross inside there?

Still rolling along with my Meri team, trying to decide which subs are best. I like Nut for the 4-turn cooldown because I only need one other blue orb to pretty much guarantee a floor-clearing attack, but aside from that I'm not sure. Been having fun beating content I couldn't before, including the first time you meet Zeus in the normal stages.

It doesn't, it has to be a clear cross. It takes a while to get comfortable making them, but cross leads are pretty easy to learn and I think easier than pure combo or color match leads. Starting out, the easiest way to make them is to line up 5 orbs you want to cross (so green for Acala) and do this:
http://pad.dawnglare.com/?s=H4Q0TQ1

You'll get better at manipulating them with practice.

like the 5 orb 1 enhance and two pronged attack mechanic is needs to be the + shape. you can have an extra orb on opposite corners but if there's a separate 3 match in there is doesn't count.

Acala is really strong but requires a lot of orb manipulation (probably why she has so many Time Extend Awakenings. Generally a single green cross is enough for trash floors but you'll need at least 2 crosses for any real floor clearing potential. Learning to cross is a pretty useful skill so it can be worth practicing. DzyDzyDino has a tutorial video for how to manipulate orbs from a bunch of positions to a cross.

So I'm looking for something besides arena to burn stamina on, I'm close to a rank up and near full stam so I want as many "free" runs as possible. I've been running Legendary Earth for fodder XP but not much else. It'll be nice once coins come back.

Anyone planning on hunting Heph dragon tonight?

I'm looking at teams I can self coop with, Myr won't hit hard enough, Noctis might fail on Apollo. If I'm willing to burn a stone I think Noctis can do it.

Neptune is "easy", just hit him really hard.

Apollo might be stallable depending on the way he works. I can't tell from padx how his rotation goes. If so then just make sure the right team gets skill delayed and you should be set for Heph.

Just thinking about upcoming buffs and changes and stuff and I got back around to thinking about Satsuki's sub evo. I've drawn three of her and feel like she has real potential but doesn't fit in any obvious places. However, I feel like there really might be something with DD Cecil. For reference, Cecil gives a flat 2x attack and RCV for dark types. Then goes up to 25x on two dark combos and 81x on three. He tends to like TPA subs 'cause he has two TPA built in. HP and binds are a concern that needs to be addressed. I like him as a lead when dealing with combo shields and damage control (as 4x, 25x, and 81x are pretty easy to hit).

I was thinking about something like DD Cecil/Satsuki/Satsuki/Satsuki/Sleeping Beauty (better bind clear inherit). It isn't exactly a system, but it does seem pretty good from a theory crafting point of view. You'd have 31728 HP with the 15% badge, full pluses and max level, plus a built in 30% dark resistance from the Cecils--you'd still need some resist latents to tank DQ Hera on Arena 3, but otherwise, probably enough hp overall. You're actives are all pretty solid, with two board changes and three haste dark makers. It also makes solid use of lumiel as an inherit for true damage. It seems like fun, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the trouble overall.

I'm basically just trying to justify keeping all three satsuki

I'm planning on giving it a shot with my Meri teams. There's a guide on Reddit that makes me think they can pull it off with relatively little modification. I think I'd just have to find a spot for a damage-active and a shield or two. If they can't, well, at the very least I can make the Yamamoto B team if I can find someone with the A team.

I'm lacking in Zera to make it happen, I need more skill ups.

EDIT:
0-stoned it with Noctis
Floor 1: blow him up.
Floor 2: stall out his combo shield, delay, "kill", then finish him off with the team you want skill delayed.
Floor 3: Hit him really hard, a lot. If you can keep your HP up you can actually eat most of his attacks.

Teams:
Alt:
Noctis
Awoken Persephone
DK Cecil
Awoken Okuni
Awoken Lucifer

Main I had some SDR insurance in case I screwed up on Apollo:
Noctis (unskilled Awoken Lucifer)
D/R Haku
Eschamali (unskilled Satsuki)
Awoken Haku (Haku)
Sephiroth (Awoken Yomi)

I actually super killed Heph in one shot on my main, plinked him with my alt then finished him off. Cecil was used to kill Apollo and heal up for Heph.

ALB worked perfectly on Hephaestus Dragon. I had team A with ALB (A Yomi), max skilled Zera, Dios, and 2 Tengu (A Hades and Leeza inherits). 15 SB total.

Coop partner had A Freyja instead of Carat, worked fine.

I knew max skilling Zera would pay off.

Finished Hephaestus with Aizen coop.

Pretty easy overall, kill Neptune... stall and delay apollo... take the active hit and kill with 2 crosses. Hit him once more so the resolve goes away and then 2 crosses again for the kill.

Not sure what to do with the dragon, could get shivagon but don't really feel that would be super useful for me. Aizen seems a bit better for the moment I think.

I just cleared Arena 1 solo for the first time with Super Yomi Dragon. I've been playing for a long time but never felt like trying it before. I took D Kali down to 20% in 1 turn without any damage boosters (Haku+Akechi), then killed on turn 2.

Super Yomi Dragon - Pandora
A Haku
D/D Akechi
Hamal - no atk plusses
D/W Halloween Izanami - A Orochi - no plusses
Super Yomi Dragon - Akechi

Izanami was the poor man's Eschamalli, used for her awakenings, to carry delay, and shield against DQ Hera. Even with the 15% hp badge I still need a shield.

For some reason, I've started to feel a little "turned off" by challenge dungeons. Like, how many times do I need to kill illsix? Also, that fixed team challenge is pretty interesting--heart cross lead in a combo shield/resolve stage: fun!

On a whim I played legendary remains--R. Minerva was pretty great, but I still lost when I got greedy near the end and pushed nine-dragon into the rage zone.

I've also been playing Lifivre; pretty nice overall, several plusses and occasional HP latent invades.

The new Ars Nova and Goetia evos seem a bit pointless, while the seraphis evo sounds good, so it will probably need something exceptionally hard to acquire.

I was inspired by Jagernaut so I tried to complete A1 for the fifth time having only gotten to the Heras before:

Because I was doing it solo and I'm too reliant on skyfall for Ronove I did it with the following team:

With Carat on my Krish, Isis on my Minerva for bind clear, and Saria on friend Krish.

Ended up not getting bound once, made it through Sopdet (barely), and had a number of spawns that gave me reds. On Kali after Urd/Sanada/Carat I had 14 hearts, but friend's Krish was up so I just made the 2 extra reds, did the two heart rows, and easily walloped her.

I went with Krish over Ronove or Myr for safety reasons... the binds and lack of ability to stall without crosses is concerning. Also I knew with my cards that the damage would be more than enough for Kali.

Congrats on the clear. First time you take down A1 is a really great feeling.

Looking at the team composition you're running I'd suggest switching to Minerva as your lead and pair with Yomomoto and cake walk through arena. Krishna is way too orb hungry for my tastes, Minerva/Yomo is very consistent with huge burst. You'll have a ridiculous amount of rows on the team where just 6 red orbs will be millions of damage across the board. Just make sure you bring a bind clear.

So how long do you think it takes to start building teams that can clear the higher end dungeons? Started in Dec, I'm at Starlight Sac, and can typically do the 40Energy ones, but anything that involves binds seems out of my reach still. Since I don't have anyone that can prevent or clear quick

I think it depends on dedication/effort and box quality (which may be related to money). I've been playing since July and I'm at a point where I can clear mythical plus stages without too much difficulty. However, I tend to obsess pretty hard and right now PAD is my jam, plus I have a 40 minute bus commute to and from work that makes for built-in playing time. I've also in-app-purchased about once a month, so my box got developed relatively quickly and I have somewhere between 2-4 viable teams for some endgame content. At this point, I feel like I'm in a good place, I have a lot of flexibility and could probably beat something like Arena 1, if I was willing to try a few times.

My wife isn't in-app purchasing other than the $10 deal twice and she is at a point where she can solo a lot of mythical dungeons, but she still has some trouble. She has like two relatively viable teams, but one has some holes. She started playing in september and really only plays once a day.

My best friend has been playing for like three months, is not in-app purchasing, but is very obsessive as well. He rerolled to get a lead he liked, then just drew another one during a godfest. He has like 2 viable teams, but both run some less-than-perfect subs. He can take down some mythical plus dungeons, but not others.

A lot of it can come down to what teams you can build and how long it took you to get there. Some leads are really flexible, start good and stay good (Krishna), others are pretty solid early on but drop off fast (red dragon caller sonia), and others are really only worth the trouble once you can evolve and support them fully (Gremory).

As for bind clears, Angel is a common drop that can clear binds, but if it doesn't mess up your team Aamir (who has his own descended) is probably the best farmable bind clear solution. Ras is also reasonable, but she is bindable herself, so it is likely better that you inherit her.

Congratz. Damn, I wish I had Urd and Sanada on my main. :(

It hasn't prevented me from clearing A1 but having Uriel and inherited Saria as my only heart makers makes it riskier.

Yeah I'm absolutely not fond of the single orb-hungry playstyle. I'm not very good at hoarding effectively (even trying to group orbs in the bottom corners) and it's so reliant on good active use and good RCV. I'm much more fond of the wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am nonstop megadamage of Ilm & co (also Meri a bit).

It's why I'm anxiously hoping and praying we get D.Athena and soon; she seems to combine the high-speed, low-orb, relatively tanky playstyle I very much prefer.

I'll give Minerva/Yamamoto a try on a non-STTD day, thanks. I think I have one or two friends who use Yamamoto consistently, it would be nice to give them some pal points. Given the different activation requirements, I guess I would have to ditch the Sanadas and go with Tsubakis.

Don't worry about it. They're 6* monsters, so it's not like anyone but a large marine mammal will pull them.

Also, did I miss something or did they just announce a GF without actually announcing the featured cards? Because "During the Gala of Flame, Xiahou Dun will be featured at increased rates, while the other monsters in the Three Kingdoms Series 2 will be featured at standard rates" makes it sound like 3K2 won't actually be a featured pantheon.

GF will be a separate announcement. This is just saying that the new pantheon will be in the REM before the GF begins (and that one of them will be boosted by the gala).

Can't wait to blow a bunch of my saved up stones chasing 6*s…whee!

Okay, EU has revealed the pantheons. Turns out 3K2 will be a featured pantheon after all.

Day 1 is 3K2 and Angels 1.
Day 2 is 3K2 and MechStar 1.

Noteworthy: Non-featured GFE will not come out of the REM. That means that you can roll on Day 1 without any danger of rolling LMeta!

I think I'll still end up saving my stones. Maybe a courtesy roll. Maybe a courtesy roll both days. But definitely no more than that. I won't chase 6* monsters, and there isn't really anything that isn't a 6* that would drastically improve either of my boxes.

Man, I was 99% sure I pulled a Minerva during one of the last godfests and I just quadruple checked my boxes and it's not there. I've been doing a lot of haphazard box clearing lately getting rid of +eggs and old descend boss stuff and I'm scared I might have done something stupid. Going to operate under the idea that I was mistaken and didn't get one, but man... I'm sure I pulled one.

So how long do you think it takes to start building teams that can clear the higher end dungeons? Started in Dec, I'm at Starlight Sac, and can typically do the 40Energy ones, but anything that involves binds seems out of my reach still. Since I don't have anyone that can prevent or clear quick

Post screenshots of your box and we can help you out. It's not so much about time as where you focus your time. Need to spend your resources efficienty. Or on the flip side, if you spend a lot of money. :)

I have my Pentamax Yomomoto up almost all the time, add me if you haven't already. 391,130,292. Don't be afraid of the team, it's really easy to play and you don't have to horde. I just one shot everything. My Yomomoto even has 5 wood latents to combat the one risk floor - Parvati. You need to be able to tank her under 30%.. the latents should get you close.

D.Athena is insanely strong and so easy to play. I feel like I'm basically never locked out and she hits like a truck with just 4 dark orbs. Built in delays when needed, constant orb changers. The team is so versatile... from day one I thought she was at least on par with Myr and it looks like the tier rankings have finally caught up to reflect that.

Okay, EU has revealed the pantheons. Turns out 3K2 will be a featured pantheon after all.

Day 1 is 3K2 and Angels 1.

Day 2 is good for me. I only have Spica and want all the Mechanical Star 1 Gods especially Castor and Pollux. The 3K2 are good too.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the godfest. With the 3k2 gods being 6*, and the other pantheon at 3x with the GFEs at 4x, isn't this going to be kinda silver-y?

Also, the 3k2 gods don't make a strong argument just yet. 7x6 leads give too much in other functionality to really be worth it under most circumstances. You really have to be able to combo very well to make use of them. Their active skills seem useful, but not crucial. Honestly, if I'm going to roll a 6*, I'd rather it be something else.

That having been said, I am likely going to roll a few times. I would like a Raphael on day 1 or a castor on day 2, so it is probably worth spending some stones, but I don't think I am IAP-ing.

In other news, Gremory is buffed. Still not sure that Yomi Dragon is better than Xin Hua for Grem, especially after Xin Hua gets her buffs in a few months.

Also, what happened to Bladelaw?

Edit: Crap, he got banned for mentioning the switch in the capcom remaster thread? Kinda a dumb reason. Hopefully not for too long.

Why does it scare you? I love 7x6 because it makes just about everything easier. I guess making rows is a bit more difficult but the extra potential for massive skyfall combos you get is amazing.

I don't know, I also find 7x6 a bit harder. The damn orbs can be really far apart.

Day1 gfe filter seems nice
No Kali, Norns, odins, metatrons

No ryune & saria hurts though
But at least there's a chance for ilm, blonia and escha

I beat Paradise of the Holy Beasts today and figured that had to be it for the technical dungeons, then this whole chunk of red-colored dungeons opened up. I'm kinda glad it's taking me forever to actually clear everything, because there's always new content when I finally get past something.
