Romero or Rockhold just seems like the more popular/appealing fight and catapults him to title contention.

All three routes are rough but Kelvin the least likely to get him somewhere

I doubt Romero schedules anything before the GSP/Bisping fight happens. Wouldn't they have to go to another country or Texas or something if they wanted to get Rockhold vs Gastelum sanctioned? There's a two foot height difference there. They are two of the best arguments that there should be more weight classes on opposite ends of 185.

Romero is like 58 years old, he needs to fucking fight Bisping ASAP before he gets popped for synthetic testosterone

leave my favorite fighter alone

Rockhold vs Gastelum is the fight to make

that would be lit af

If Silva wins I could see him getting, or at least being in the discussion for, winner of GSP/Bisping

This is his last chance at any kind of relevancy. Gamble big, unlikely as payout looks

There is no way Silva wins. Zero.

Not even brazilian mma fans on brazilian mma foruns think that Silva can win this fight. I might watch this live. I´m going to wait for the ticket prices to decide.

Apparently Mayweather/McGregor is set according to DailyMail and ESPN.

The fight is set to take place in June at the T-Mobile in Vegas and Conor is expected to get 100 million straight.

Wow if true. Wow.

There's almost no chance that's true (specifically the $$ Conor would make) but if he somehow got anywhere near that he'd never fight in the UFC again.

He would never do a days work again, probably disappears off the faceof the earth to live on a beach. He has been pretty clear he is in this short term to make "fuck you" money then he is out.

10th June is booked and blocked at the T-Mobile. Its ridiculous but Im going to watch.

Him and Nate promoted their rematch main event to the max with all the banter and incident at the press conference. Conor made 25 million with that fight according to him. There you have it. A 1,5+ million buy PPV main event slot nets you that money and only he can do it. With the UFC's pay structure this is probably the limit.

If he can double or triple that number he made the right choice for himself.

Conor stands to make multi millionsand if that is the case he will undoubtedly never fight in the UFC again. I can only imagine him ever fighting in a trilogy with $$ afterwards. Maybe a career in boxing?

My question is:

If Conor is out and GSP loses, what will the UFC do.

They literally won't have any draws. UFC going to have to make a changeand start letting these guys at least go after large sponorships.

Dude what? The only thing that's apparently true so far is the TMobile reserved date

Source? This seems way too fast. They barely have 3 months to promote.

T-Mobile arena being booked is the only thing confirmed right now, but 3 months is fine since this has basically been promoted ever since Conor's fight with Alvarez.

WME is going to start offering more money and sponsorship deals to fighters, they'd basically have to if Conor bails.

I know it's been said and I get the reasons why, but the UFC 210 promo really is ridiculous and disrespectful as fuck. 15 seconds of Rogan hyping up Rumble with a brief afterthought mention of the champ... "oh and uh, he's facing a tough challenge in Daniel Cormier" cough

*end of commercial with gigantic red Rumble looming over greyed out Cormier*

UFC_210_event_poster.jpg

Marketing guys to poster artist: superimpose Cormier's head on Rumble's giant fists.

I just posted this in the McGregor vs Mayweather thread.

The quote from Mayweather:

”When I faced Arturo Gatti, I went to his turf," Mayweather said (via FightHype). ”He was the A side, I was the B side. I beat him, I didn't cry, I didn't complain. When I faced Oscar De La Hoya, he was the A side, I was the B side. I didn't cry, I didn't complain, I beat him and I became the A side. For Conor McGregor, I'm coming out of retirement, just to fight Conor McGregor.

”I don't want to hear no more excuses about the money, about the UFC. Sign the paper with the UFC so you can fight me in June. Simple and plain. Let's fight in June. You're the B side, I'm the A side. We're not here to cry about money. I'm tired of all this crying about money and talking about you want to fight. You blowing smoke up everybody's ass. If you want to fight, sign the paperwork, let's do it.

Today, I'm officially out of retirement for Conor McGregor. We don't need to waste no time. We need to make this s**t happen quickly. Let's get it on in June."

There was also the report on several MMA sights (most quoting FloCombat) that the T-Mobile Arena has put June 10th on reserve to potentially host the fight between McGregor and Mayweather.

Here's the Joe Rogan podcast show talking about it.

The fight is most likely not happening in June, for several reasons (McGregor's girlfriend is having a kid around then), but it looks like it is going to happen.
Tonight on Conan, Dana White changed his tune, gave the fight his blessing, and said that it is most likely going to happen. Looks like the UFC is getting a part of the pie now.

Dana on Conan O'Brien talking about the fight.
Dana claims Mayweather is not going to knock McGregor out, stating that Mayweather is up against a size disadvantage and has trouble with southpaws.

McGregor was a rather talented boxer in his youth.

Like Bisping and his Co-host say here, 99.9% chance Mayweather wins and Conor does nothing... BUT

What if he knocks him out? It would change history and kill boxing, would be such an unbelievable moment that even the slimmest possibility is god damn exciting as hell.

That 1% chance is why both are gonna walk away with all that money, people want to see this circus happen, just to see what it looks like. I don't think he really has a 1% chance either, unless like Joe says Mayweather doesn't train and what not. Still... Connor stands zero chance, just not going to happen, he'll get picked apart, may even lose by decision.

I feel no sympathy for the UFC. They've let McGregor do what he wants and basically killed the legitimacy of the ranking system in general for their sport. They deserve to have McGregor walk and leave them high and dry.

I doubt McGregor can last a 12 round fight honestly. He doesn't have the gas tank to last that long.

Lorenz Larkin to Bellatoe. One of the UFC's few missteps in free agency, IMO.
Ah shit. Ya dun goofed UFC. Its one thing to lose guys like Bendo and Josh Thomson to Bellator but when you lose legit contender up and comers like Larkin that's a whole different kettle of fish. Having said that though it'll be fun to see him beat the brakes off of MVP.

Best case scenario he rips through the Ballatoe welterweight division and UFC renegotiate terms. That's the money for Larkin.

Dude is being overshadowed by the rest of the welterweight division in the UFC's eyes. They're sleeping on him and probably paying him dogshit anyway.

Karim Zidan was the guy that Abdel Aziz threw under the bus on Ariel's show, right? Doesn't Ariel pride himself on being a real journalist regularly? But when a fellow journalist gets put down on his own show, he doesn't even blink. Or is Karim like a shady dude or something? Don't know enough about him.

And yeah, even guys like Edgar go to Kadyrov and prance like a show pony for some cash. Really disappointing...

It'll be interesting to see how his gas tank translates. It's not 5 minute rounds, and no heavy clinch work or grappling to worry about.
Also sad to see Larkin leave, my favoirite fighter to watch at WW in the UFC.
