Oxenfree is fantastic so far... going to play in the dark with headphones like Pitta. Lovely atmosphere and nice talking while making choices as you advance. I cant wait to discover more. Loving what I played so far (battery just died)

Ticket To Earth devs confirmed on Twitter that they plan to release the future episodes as updates

Think I'm losing my touch :p

Damn, already bought it. :(

[edit] can confirm 2x mode.

I hope they seriously update that shit.

That's sort of ridiculous for a game I thought would be iPad only. Especially given the beautiful art.

Edit: Apparently it was done in order to avoid the low performance issues on weaker iPads (like the 3rd Gen). Which is dumb, nothing runs on it and Apple replaced it faster than any other iPad in history.

Shadowgun Legends - Pre-Alpha Gameplay:

While it might not be everyone's cup of tea in terms of gameplay (basically a F2P take on Destiny), it's bound to be one of the most impressive game visually on mobile.

I was about to buy it but came here first.
Glad I did it, thanks for the warning.

Weird decision that will be probably make the dev rethink the strategy of the port, hopefully sooner than later.

Sadly (for the dev) makes my decision easier for now.

Back to the heap of awesome games still to be completed.

The dev is looking into it (I explained the need for retina + the fact that the 3rd Gen iPad isn't good at all) and hopefully it will be updated at some point.

Yeah I saw.
Good to know.

As I'm interested in the game, I'm happy because it gives me some time margin to properly enjoy other games and, when the time will come, Pavilion as well (hopefully).

I can't wait for this because I loved and spend some time on the original when it first came out. Nova: Legacy looks interesting too.

[edit] Oh, I see Shadowgun is first-person now. Even better.

This is good to hear. Glad they'll be updating it to Universal.

This month is incredible. I cannot keep the pace the games are releasing and this thread is moving. So much games to consider to buy!

I finished Samurai 1&2 and Shadowgun and spent quite some time with Shadowgun: Deadzone but I didn't bother with anything from Madfinger afterwards so I'm a bit curious.

Nova: Legacy, from the few gameplay videos that I've seen, looks absolutely dreadful, slow and filled with all the Gameloft bullshit that they have added the past few years.

Watched some videos (I know I know...) about Pavilion on iOS and I must say, despite this weird non-iPad thing, it does look really gorgeous and cool, puzzle wise.

Definitely in my watch-list.

Three days left in the App Store promotion, right? What else are we expecting besides Card Thief and Typeshift?

The last one is a mystery for now but rumor has it that it could be The Witness. Still, with Sunless Sea and Death Road to Canada next week it can be another weak game like Bit City (for me) and it wouldn't matter much.

Could anyone suggest a few games for a 6 year old girl on ipad? She's into all sorts, great at mario bro on the Wii U.

Into Gumball and Adventure Time. She would probably like a few traditional girly dress-up etc, games as well.

This is a super interesting (imho) read about Card Crawl sales over 2 years.
It's also the testament that if you do your things right and support properly the game you believe in and poured your soul into, it's a viable market.
Maybe you won't make millions per day like some free to play hits (and I would question it...for SOME hits millions of free to play shit sink, also...server costs are not negligible with high such player numbers) but it's still a market that can give you satisfactions.

And with the recent Apple push, expecially for premium games, this can only improve.

My son (8) besides anything Star Wars enjoy a lot Machinarium, Tiny Thief, Love you Bits, Botanicula...

I started playing country-exclusive soft-launch games, and is thinking about writing my impressions in here but I'm not sure if it's of any interest. Anyway, right now I'm playing Injustice 2, Snipers vs Thieves and Dynasty Warriors: Unleashed. Might give Gangstars: New Orleans some time too.

My daughters (one is also 6) love Power Hover and Neko Atsume. But be prepared to hear "can I check for cats?" constantly if you get them the latter.

Cosmic Express is pretty fantastic. A Good Snowman Is Hard To Build shined through its clever level design and air-tight rules/mechanics, and Cosmic Express is brilliant in the same way. With just a few elements - the placement of tiles, the location of entrances and exits, how many passenger sections you have - the game crafts varied puzzles that ask you to think and plan carefully. Some stages have multiple solutions, and you're incentivized to solve them not for stars or move pars, but because doing so unlocks new levels on the map.

Not only is the gameplay satisfying and challenging, the game feels very polished, from the vibrant easy-to-read aesthetic and the simple responsive controls

Between Cosmic Express and Ticket To Earth, this has been a good week of puzzlers

I actually think you can get two stars in Cosmic Express? A white and a yellow one. I assume yellow one fo completing the stage the correct way, and a white star for completing a stage an alternative way? I dunno.

Ahhhhhh this indie extravaganza has been like that moment at the dentist when your waiting for them to come back and take that playing card sized piece of plastic used to take X-rays out for mouth for 11 days straight. Card theif whennnnnnnn??

Decided to download Pavilion on my old Shield Tablet (which I don't think was originally supported but now will be along with all of Android). Thinking the game may actually be more enjoyable with touch controls than it was on Shield TV with a controller.

Never got real far in the game the first time around as I thought it was more beautiful to look than intriguing as a game.

But maybe I'll be drawn in playing up close with touch.

Oh and, unsurprisingly, the price on Android/Shield dropped from $9.99 to $3.99. Guess we just had the "exclusivity" tax for the past six months. LOL.

Did we get it cleared up if the iOS version of Oxenfree were missing effects or if it's just the iPad Pro version that looks blurry? I can't say I've noticed the blurriness myself, but people were saying the screen-cap were blurry, so maybe I'm just the one not noticing.

PRO TIP: Never, EVER, play Oxenfree in the middle of the night with headphones while your wife sleeps near you.

NEVER.

Holy cow this is downright amazing.
Generally I never got scared in movies and such but....OH MY GOD.

This is truly GLORIOUS.

Didn't play that much Oxenfree on PC but from what I remember on iPad Air is absolutely identical to the PC version.
The flashlight effect in the facility is actually pretty amazing.
I'll do a second playthrough on iPhone where it seems to me even more glorious (probably just the smaller screen).

But the story...oh my god the story.

It's probably since Sword&Sworcery since I wasn't this engrossed by a videogame story.
It's superb.

Death Road is coming out on the 22nd. Initial price will be $7.99, and then go up a dollar in price with each major update like Wayward Souls

So yeah, that's Death Road To Canada then Sunless Sea in the same week

Any recommendations for games that are good for playing in micro chunks off and on throughout the day? I've mainly stuck with puzzle type games but I'm open to more. Previous ones have ranged from classics like mahjong to fairway solitaire to drop 7. Just stuff that doesn't need to be played in a continuous session. Also preferably ones that having sound off won't lose some of the enjoyment.

So many games are on sale now: 1849, Adventures of Pip, Game of Life. 1849 is really worth getting.

I didn't know Typeshifter was from the creator of SpellTower. SpellTower is like one of the best word games on mobile, so I'm gonna check it out. Too bad it depends so much on trial and error though.

I like it but it's a lot more trial and error than other word games (at least for me). Is introducing me to words I've never heard of though!
Honestly I wouldn't call it trial and error. I felt it's actually pretty precise and methodical. You can clear grids with a minimum amount of words, so you need to plan several moves ahead.

Welp, for me it's very much trial and error because I don't know a lot of the words! I can't plan ahead if I don't know the words.
