We'll see how this game fairs now that reviewers are becoming harsher and remembering that you can go below a 70.
Regarding romances:
If that leak regarding who can romance who is true, then I'll be pretty fucking irritated. I knew it was wishful thinking that Cora could be bi, but for MaleRyder to have access to her as well as PeeBee and Vetra (they're both bi apparently), while FemRyder has access to Liam and Suvi exclusively is such horseshit. I wanted either Vetra or PeeBee to be female only so we could have a unique dialogue with a companion, but alas FeMC players have to take another L. Ugh.
Anyone else kind of liking the atmosphere but kind of dislike the characters ?

It's not a fact because quality is subjective but the MC for the game is 90+ and the MP is played to this day. The MP alone bumps up the score considerably.
Who gives a fuck what the MC score is? Metacritic scores were inflated across the board at the end of the gen. The game had numerous faults not only on the writing side from almost everything pertaining to Cerberus, both the intro and ending being a hot mess, bugs galore, the side missions being revamped MP maps, issues with the animations, aspects like the scaled back Citadel, the setpieces being crappy such as the one on Thessia, the dream sequences that were tedious due to the fact you had to slowly move in them, among other things.
Who the fuck thought this was fun to play through?
Agreed. Subtract Star Child and Kai Leng, the game really is quite good, stilted intro aside.
The companions are somewhat bland, outside of Liam, with Drak looking especially bland.
"Oh look, grunting Krogan!"
I like Peebee, but have not had enough time to make a full decision. SAM's pretty decent and I like your Dad. Past that, its a mix of give or take to take them, PLEASE! Dr. D'Terro is decent too.
Lol we've barely seen 5 mins of this guy. How can you possibly judge him?
i mean its literally like 1 minute of slow walking
I think the complaint is 'because x and y characters are bisexual instead of only being for my choice, their romance will be fairly bland vs more gender specific' or something along those lines. Which for bioware games wouldn't be far off, but at the same time making it gender specific doesn't necessarily make the romance any better. Wasn't Liara the most popular one and she was bi? In fact her race is general is meant to fuck both men and women.
Aside from the 10 hours trial, does Origin Access also offer early access to the full game for those who preorder?

I doesn't work nearly as well as I think Bioware intended but it never bothered me. I even like the music and eery atmosphere.

Wow, so Andromeda really is this polarizing. I really don't know if I should get it at launch.
So conflicted."
Finished the trial. Very very very excited to keep going. Game is just doing sooooo much right.
Also, not to destroy my rep or anything, but ME3 is the best game in the series. Issues with the ending aside, it's got the best mechanical foundation (both combat and RPG progression), best visuals, some of the best writing (Rannoch, Tuchanka), fantastic setpieces... so much great stuff.

huh, so I'm not the only one who hated virtually every bit of Cerberus' involvement in ME3.
And I also agree with the rest of your points (all of which I've complained about god knows how many times).
Is it just me or the MP in this game is WAY more difficult than ME3's MP? I played a mission on bronze and me and my squad were obliterated by the 6th wave. I don't remember ME3's MP being so punishing in the lower difficulties. Or maybe I just suck.
I'm neutral on most characters so far, but I really like Kandros and especially Kesh.
Not only is the stuff pertaining to Cerberus so bad in ME3, it retroactively reaches back and fucks up things in ME1 and ME2. Fuck Walters for that.
Do you mean the first, second, or third one? All of which served to completely miss the emotional tone they were going for.
Anyone else kind of liking the atmosphere but kind of dislike the characters ?
The characters pale in comparison to Liara, Tali, Wrex and Garrus, etc.
2 gig? Wowzer, must be some serious fixes in that..then again Bioware said the ship has sailed in terms of any major fixes coming in ahead of release?
Of course they do those characters had 3 games to develop. Meanwhile we haven't seen the MEA cast for a full game.
Irrelevant. I warmed to the characters in Mass Effect 1 immediately, which gave some backstory about them beforehand.
Andromeda just throws them in your face.
So I can't continue playing until release date even though I've bought it?

Rayne0009 said:You warmed up to walking codexes immediately? Because that's what they were in ME1. (save Kaidan who was boring as hell and Ashley who's most famous quote is "I can't tell the aliens from the animals.")
Liara doesn't even have the same personality she had in ME1 where she was just the virginal nerd scientist that was fascinated with you because of the Beacon.
Also you didn't get the backstory for most of the cast til you went through most of their conversations in ME1 which already would render the comparison with Andromeda moot considering you haven't even finished the first hub world.
Unless you're trying to say you were bffs with the cast as soon as they stepped into the Normandy in which case I can only ask how.

yes
this was a trial. They tell you "to continue please buy the full game" but they never meant for you to keep going past a certain story point for the trial.
ME3 was super inflated.
yeah, I loved that game until the last 30 minutes or so and I'm not going to pretend that ruined the previous 40~ hours for me.
Well, it didn't say you have to wait until actual release date, but only purchase full game, I find this very misleading. I wouldn't have bought the game otherwise just yet.

ME3 was amazing and deserves that score.
