That's pretty much impossible when the core concepts behind the arguments are things like racial supremacy/inferiority and gene pool dilution. Your sources aren't going to be any much better than a flat Earther's.

Basically feel like he's been caught out extolling core white supremacist beliefs but, due to being 'flustered', didn't manage to pre-coat it in humour/code words/just-enough-ambiguity. How inconvenient.

I think late teens, but I'm not sure to be honest - there's certainly a fair few people in their early-mid 20s who watch him. Feel like he's another dick who's somehow managed to take the cynicism/frustration/nihilism of a lot of that age range online and channel it towards the far-right. So many hallmarks of other alt-right figures - claims censorship/persecution when he's called out or challenged, deflects with exaggeration or laughter when challenged to act like he's 'above' all that, repeats easily memorable memes rather than engaging with what he's challenged by etc. Basically has supremacist ideas but acts as if he's anti-establishment. A lot of people eat that up though, fortunately, a lot of people (including within his core fanbase), see it for the shit it is.

late teens to late twenties i guess! I'm 29 and I'm a pretty big fan of his videos since i knew him from game grumps! his channel content is legit funny and he never went political in them ... and then he had to do these stupid tweets and debates
I said fan of his video, because since the recent things he said, i can't consider myself a fan of him anymore sadly, he said some pretty reprehensibles and stupid shit!
Hope the other youtubers that i'm subscribed to won't turn like this

No worries. The spot you were in integrity vs. enjoyment is a weird place to be in. Glad you followed your conscience as it is not always easy. There are a lot of people with fucked up views that make art I love but I can't support them because of their horrible action and views.

yeah, it's pretty sad! I don't care about what people say on the internet most of the time, i don't follow social media nor do i follow the youtuber i'm subscribed to on twitter!
For exemple Pewdiepie, i'm not a fan of his content at all, don't watch him, i find it boring and cringy, but i didn't consider his stupid jokes that he made a few week back to be that big of a deal! (and he somewhat apologised)
And now there's jontron, which i loved, and there he talks about genepool and other stupid racist shit.... seriously what? Even i can't condone these stupid statements!

I'm at the middle of my twenties, always found his videos quite funny and i'm not the only one in my age which appreciate his videos. I think his demographic are "young persons who like to go to Youtube and like video game/movie" which is quite board.
For a lot of people, it's an untalented person who said something awful... Cool for them... But for me who actually think he is talented and funny, it's way more sad.... Now i can't watch his videos without thinking about that anymore...

There was a good bit on the Podquisition recently where Jim did some reflection about this but I can't find it. The basic gist is that while he used to be a shit and thinks he's changed, he doesn't fault anyone for never trusting him again. That humility is the important part, realising that even though you've recognised you were wrong and made an effort to do better, it still doesn't mean that anybody owes you the time of day.

Thing is, even if you did follow him on twitter, it was easy to spot only one or two of these sorts of things, and from his self-defensive, 'What I did isn't really that bad' perspective. If you don't have the instinct to investigate further, it's all too easy to minimise or dismiss what Jon was doing.
And I admit, until the women's march, that's what happened with me.
Now I'm just looking back over the years and realising how many fucked bullets I dodged from potentially getting caught up in this stupid bandwagon supporting thinly veiled white supremacists.
I had to look up what the business about JonTron using "retarded", and it was even worse than I imagined

Probably the same? As far as I'm aware, he's a genuinely nice and humble dude with an unfortunate tendency to make really fucking stupid, obnoxious, tone deaf jokes that reflect his privilege and unfamiliarity with culturally sensitive issues.

It's like the logic of someone punching me in the face and the person saying that I have no right to have a problem with that specifically because someone else got stabbed yesterday. In what world does having a problem with someone taking the piss out of the disabled mean you therefore don't care about Israeli airstrikes killing children..? I'm glad my son is too young for this right now. Hopefully in 6 or so years when he's old enough, youtubers won't be as much of a thing anymore. Maybe I'm being optimistic, I suppose it could be even worse by then. I'd rather my kid just watch TV shows and go to movies, and not have these youtubers as their celebrities. Low character people for the most part, and when it gets to white supremacy, just fucking no.
Especially because all he had to do was be like "Ah, I'm sorry. I used it out of habit and I didn't mean offense." The way he just doubles down on his stupid ass comments is what makes me the most mad. I don't think he even needed to apologize, he could have just showed some understanding of how some people could be upset by his use of "retarded".

Totally agree with that logic (though i'd still say that's worth an apology too, regardless of his intent) - massive ego and a complete lack of empathy. Some offensive terms are social norms, they suck and sometimes people don't realise the gravity of the words they use. If you fuck up and someone lets you know, then apologise, learn from it and don't do it again. Be accountable. And yet he's somehow managed to turn that into him being the 'victim'.

With pewdiepie and this, these Youtubers have learned from the alt-right and Trump to divert the blame to the news media for misrepresenting them even though there isn't much context or nuance needed for most of the statements they come out with.
I have to wonder if that one episode where Jon just starts dropping the n-word, without any kind of comedic or conversational context, was when Arin really started to figure things out..
Cowardly? I think it's more that he's never made these statements in his videos or had them influence them. Would be weird as fuck to just drop a video like this to his millions of subscribers, when probably only 1% of them know about this at all.

So he was a coward for not showing his views in the first place, not for having his explanation unlisted. That's far more agreeable.
