Made the huge mistake of looking at the comment section. His fanbase in that comment section is crazy. Just sad.
Sad!
Seriously though check out his subreddit to make yourself feel better. They are having none of it.
I'm just glad someone is trying to evaluate Both Sides in this thread. The side who said "non whites dilute the gene pool" and the side who thinks that's unacceptable. Let's try to look at both perspectives, okay? We don't want to turn this into a Witch Hunt.
That's pretty much impossible when the core concepts behind the arguments are things like racial supremacy/inferiority and gene pool dilution. Your sources aren't going to be any much better than a flat Earther's.Dude should learn how to actually craft an effective argument. Also probably learn that if you're trying to convince people of a thing, using disputed sources isn't the way to go.

Basically feel like he's been caught out extolling core white supremacist beliefs but, due to being 'flustered', didn't manage to pre-coat it in humour/code words/just-enough-ambiguity. How inconvenient.
What is his primary demographic? I'm asking seriously as I never watched his videos. Tweens? Late teens?

late teens to late twenties i guess! I'm 29 and I'm a pretty big fan of his videos since i knew him from game grumps! his channel content is legit funny and he never went political in them ... and then he had to do these stupid tweets and debates
I said fan of his video, because since the recent things he said, i can't consider myself a fan of him anymore sadly, he said some pretty reprehensibles and stupid shit!
Hope the other YouTubers that i'm subscribed to won't turn like this
No worries. The spot you were in integrity vs. enjoyment is a weird place to be in. Glad you followed your conscience as it is not always easy. There are a lot of people with fucked up views that make art I love but I can't support them because of their horrible action and views.
hey im grump :'(
I'm not so trump!
And we're the game reich!

I'm at the middle of my twenties, always found his videos quite funny and i'm not the only one in my age which appreciate his videos. I think his demographic are "young persons who like to go to Youtube and like video game/movie" which is quite board.
For a lot of people, it's an untalented person who said something awful... Cool for them... But for me who actually think he is talented and funny, it's way more sad.... Now i can't watch his videos without thinking about that anymore...
I've met some YouTube execs, and they really liked Pewdiepie. Told me and my team he was a professional and great guy to talk to.
Wondering how they feel about him now.
If only that stupid GAME_JAM reality show hadn't failed, and he hadn't met Zoe Quinn there, hadn't gone down the anti-SJW/anti-PC/gamergate, hadn't retweeted a NSFW comic of a gamergate gangbang, hadn't teamed up with alt-righters, hadn't said "retarded" maybe this wouldn't have happened? This scandal has been 3 years in the making.

Man... Jon's been an ass for years and I never really knew because I only followed his Youtube channel.
There was a good bit on the Podquisition recently where Jim did some reflection about this but I can't find it. The basic gist is that while he used to be a shit and thinks he's changed, he doesn't fault anyone for never trusting him again. That humility is the important part, realising that even though you've recognised you were wrong and made an effort to do better, it still doesn't mean that anybody owes you the time of day.I have a hard time believing that anyone around here would give him any benefit of the doubt if he said "hey what I said was wrong I'm sorry." Not that he would deserve any sympathy or anything but would apologizing actually help his reputation at all? Maybe in some circles it would but I imagine many people would just say he's lying to save face or that an apology isn't good enough or that we now know how he truely feels.

Neil Cicierga remains the MVP
Probably the same? As far as I'm aware, he's a genuinely nice and humble dude with an unfortunate tendency to make really fucking stupid, obnoxious, tone deaf jokes that reflect his privilege and unfamiliarity with culturally sensitive issues.I've met some YouTube execs, and they really liked Pewdiepie. Told me and my team he was a professional and great guy to talk to.

I had to look up what the business about JonTron using "retarded", and it was even worse than I imagined
I've never seen that statement on it before, jeez. It's like the logic of someone punching me in the face and the person saying that I have no right to have a problem with that specifically because someone else got stabbed yesterday. In what world does having a problem with someone taking the piss out of the disabled mean you therefore don't care about Israeli airstrikes killing children..? When would it ever be appropriate to use the death of children to deflect criticism about mocking the disabled? What a bell.
I remember when people jumped on Egoraptor when Jontron left GameGrumps because everyone assumed Arin was a dick and drove him away.
He knew.

Especially because all he had to do was be like "Ah, I'm sorry. I used it out of habit and I didn't mean offense." The way he just doubles down on his stupid ass comments is what makes me the most mad. I don't think he even needed to apologize, he could have just showed some understanding of how some people could be upset by his use of "retarded".
So did his sponsors drop him yet?
I'm not gonna watch this, I'm just gonna assume that he apologises for not getting his points across clearly, doubles down on some stuff, doesn't bring up other stuff and criticises the media for taking him out of context.
Jontron and his continued support has shown that I don't have to be informed on topics before I comment on them, so it's okay.

Edit: Only just saw someone pointing out that it's unlisted, you cowardly fuck JonTron
Yes, it is pretty cowardly to hide your disgusting views from your audience like that. He knows it has a good chance of hurting his image, so he literally hides it.Cowardly? I think it's more that he's never made these statements in his videos or had them influence them. Would be weird as fuck to just drop a video like this to his millions of subscribers, when probably only 1% of them know about this at all.

Yeah it's already been said but to reiterate if you truly believe these things then fucking own it. To hold that most of the world's humanity is beneath you except when it comes to clicks is breathtakingly hypocritical "I hold this truth to be self evident, no man is equal to the white man but all clicks are created equal"
If a celebrity I follow believes I'm inferior for my genes, I think I'd like to be informed about it.So he was a coward for not showing his views in the first place, not for having his explanation unlisted. That's far more agreeable.
