I just got a Spin Clean kit. I was sceptical but I am so damn impressed with the results. It's easy to use and set up etc etc, but the results are unbelievable. I have a copy of The Wall from the 80s and it was in bad shape. One go through the Spin Clean and it's like a new record. It looks new again and sounds a thousand times better. It's still got some pops and crackles but you have to listen out for them.

It's an absolute 10/10 from me, especially since I got it from Amazon Warehouse for £65. It was quoted as "Like New" - it was actually sealed and completely unused.

So angry right now! The subplatter and platter arrived, but they sent me the wrong sub-platter that has too wide base on the spindle so the platter doesn't fit. Sent the company mail and I hope getting the correct part won't be too much of a hassle.
Is it significantly wider? The only reason I ask is that I did this same thing years ago (aluminum subplatter and acrylic platter, probably from a different company) and I remember thinking this was the case when I first got it. Turns out that since the tolerances were so close you were supposed to apply a lubricant to the spindle and then it would fit.
(Cue infinite sex jokes.)

Not sure if this is the issue in your case but your post brought back that memory.

I don't believe it should be lubricated - there's no way. It's that much wider. And then I wouldn't be able to put the belt on the subplatter. The subplatter is also noticeable differences from the pictures on Analogue Seduction's site, having a way shorter spindle for one. Also the subplatter and platter are (supposed to be) from the same manufacturer and are regularly sold together. Well, I've already got contact with their customer service, but haven't heard back from them after they said this hasn't happened before.

Just make sure to clean the rags properly or else you'll get shedding. I messed up on a batch and used a bum rag. My needle still picks up fibers every now and again.

Thanks. I've got a lot left to clean but the cloths are still in new condition atm. they're currently drying out as I'm done for tonight. I'll go back to it tomorrow. I'll clean them and then store them until I use them again

I am 100% happy with it though. When my Dad died I saved a few of his old records from the 70s and 80s. One of his favourites - David Bowie: Changes - was in a bad state but I've just cleaned it once and it sounds fantastic. i could tell people it's a brand new record and they'd believe it.

The Star Wars 'Ultimate Vinyl Collection'.
My first major (>£20) vinyl purchase! It's gorgeous.

Very nice. I saw it on Amazon a while ago but I didn't bite. I wish I had done now tbh

I was hesitant because I had only recently bought Empire Strikes Back, but saw this going for £85 and couldn't resist. Justified it by seeing Ep 2 and 3 averaging about £30-35 each and I can always sell my copy of Empire.
It also has a voucher for the digital version, which is always nice.

It's definitely worth it for that price. I think I saw it for £105, so you got a good deal

I've got a new toy 😁 I've decided to upgrade and I've got a Project Essential III. I'm on my way home to set this baby up now

I use this:

http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinf...boz2OfjA-m2fbzKhSmP-gDwy3nmc7uAmLmhoCEbvw_wcB

You spin manually, but has a strong vacuum and much, much cheaper than the automatic record cleaners. It works very well, but I also collect very old jazz records and it doesn't perform miracles.

I've heard good things about this before and it's much better value over the automatic ones. New, it's double the price of the Spin Clean and it's almost three times the price I paid for mine though.

Any turntable recommendations for $300-400 range? Wanting to upgrade from an audio technica lp60. I have active speakers so built in preamp would be preferred.

Project debut Carbon might be interesting. The one with built in pre-amp is 500 euro's here. So I suspect it's less than that converted to dollars.

I just got a Project Essential 3 (£280, so a bit under your budget). I have nothing but absolute praise for it. It is amazing. The Debut Carbon is even better but slightly more money

Couple of recent pickups.

Twin peaks fire walk with me to go with my copy of the TV show sound track

The one on the left is one of my favourite pieces of music ever. Sebastian Tellier La Ritournelle - great to have it on vinyl.

So I just ordered this from amazon, for $250. I prefer the ease of use of an automatic turntable as I like to set it and forget it. Hopefully it is a decent upgrade from my years old LP60.

Are there any impression videos of this? Still not 100% my LP120 is the right machine for me. I want a simplified setup somewhere in between a LP60 and 120... this seems to be it. I just want to make sure I'm getting some amount of quality for my buck.

Anyone else have any recommendations around the $300 range? Preferably on Amazon.

Good stuff. Can't believe "Lar Ritournelle" is a 13-year-old song. Masterpiece.

Reminds me that I want to pickup "Roche" (aka the sexiest song of the 00's) on vinyl too.

I've only played around with it a bit, but it seems like a worthy upgrade. Setup was real easy, sound seems fuller than lp60. It's certainly bigger than the lp60, and has the look and feel of a higher quality TT

Had the biggest score of my vinyl-collecting life this past week.

Previously $199 AUD, this just went on clearance for not $30. And it was the last one in my company.

My La La Land signed vinyls finally shipped last week, but after seeing the average quality of the signatures my hype has diminished a little. Also need to pick up the new RTJ 3 & Drive 5th Anniversary soundtrack. Trying to collect different colored discs.

That's a good find. It's a nice box set and James was accommodating enough to make them DJ friendly. Don't bother trying to play them in correct order. It's a pain.

Hadn't thought about getting the Star Trek movie LP today but once I saw it was out I was reminded that I do really like that score and don't own it in any format.

Where did you get that from? Was there anything else on clearance?

I'm in Australia too, so pickup is def. an option :)

Are mis-prints worth anything? I just got a copy of Nothing Left To Lose and the second record has two labels for Side C. Each side plays correctly, so it's just the label that is wrong

Rarely, but this naturally depends on the nature of the misprint and the demand. I doubt a wrong label on one of the sides is worth anything.

Depends. I have a misspressing of A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms. The second disc is actually the first disc but with the correct second disc labels. It doesn't have a discogs listing so I have no clue what it's worth if it's worth anything at all.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe I'd get something from it if I just listed it. There's a lot of crazy TOOL/A Perfect Circle fans out there.

Now if you had a copy of Green Day - Dookie with the correct A Side but the B Side was Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy, you'd have something worth a few bucks there.

It Exists

Tho I misremembered what the actual issue was.

Ha, I wish it was something interesting like that. I checked it immediately though and the track list is correct' it's just the wrong label on one side. I love the album though and I got it for a good price, so I'm not going to be selling it

Thanks for the info (both of you)

I can also provide a referral link 😉

Me first lol! I just reactivated a few days ago so I could grab that sad songs for dirty lovers press, and was hoping for something decent for April. Not a big gorillaz fan but I would consider this decent enough

Gorillaz "Demon Days" is the April vinyl me please release, on red vinyl. http://www.vinylmeplease.com/record-of-the-month/

If anyone wants a referral code just pm me ( mods delete if not allowed, sorry)

So I heard of Vinyl Me before but never really looked into it. I do really want this release, but I wonder if it's possible to sign up for just this record or if they force me to commit to at least three months? Since I'm in The Netherlands it's quite expensive with shipping on top of things and I'm not really into taking the risk to get two records I don't like after this one for a lot of money I could have spent on vinyl I actually want.

Yes you can do month to month and then cancel after you are charged for the Gorillaz album

they've shut down the month to month for right now because of the surge of new members doing just that. they wouldn't have enough stock to cover everyone without doing that.

Yeah that's what I figured. Couldn't find anything on their website about a monthly subscription kind of thing. Then I'll just let this one slide. Too bad.

I was lucky enough to grab a month-to-month membership this morning. I've actually been eyeing this subscription for a bit and this just pushed me over the edge. Managed to get the referral credit too. Will put that towards a 3 or 6 month sub next month.

Just saw on VMP's Twitter account that they have sold out around an hour ago. I think that's the first time that has happened. You can sign up to be sent an email when they have sign up spots available.

nice. Glad I reupped my sub a couple of months ago. I've generally been impressed with their selections. A couple here and there that I don't care about, but Pinkerton, AM, Beck, and this are more than enough for the few duds.

Looks like my bank balance will be happy on record store day. There's not a single release I'm interested in.

There's like..2 or 3 I want but less than I expected. My wife and I both have the same problem wherein a lot of the stuff we want is regional exclusive.

Even the interesting releases are picture discs of some readily available records. Last year I got the Kung Fury soundtrack from RSD so that was great, but this year the list has nothing for me.

Did they just water mark every single picture on their website with "SUPPORT INDIE RECORD STORES... NOT FLIPPERS"? Because that's like super nice to browse.

Also fuck Record Store Day.
