LEGO |OT6| We Only Build in Black. And Sometimes Very Dark Grey.

Sorry - I didn't mean to target you specifically with that lol.

Yeah, the set was selling terribly so the LEGO stores slashed them in half. I've told this story before but a friend and I lined up before the store opened - there was one guy in front of us.

When the doors open he went straight to the clerk and said "I'll take every B-Wing you've got". I was so annoyed....the clerk kind of chuckled and said, "How about I sell you one".

Good guy LEGO Store employee saves the day. Still my favorite UCS set of the ones I've bought.
Yeah I know, I was joking :D

And I would've jumped on that so hard. I have a love-hate relatioship with UCS. I find them way to overpriced, but they are amazing display pieces and I love all things Star Wars (well, not all things obviously). Still only got the Slave-1, which had actually a good price/part ratio. Been mulling the Tie for quite some time but 229 is way over my budget for a 1700 piece set. Still salty I didn't jump on a price cut they did a few months back.

Cars 3 sets (LEGO Juniors)

10730 Lightning McQueen's Quick Launcher
10731 Cruz Ramirez Race Simulator
10732 Guido and Luigi's Pit Stop
10733 Mater's Demolition Site
10742 Willy's Butte Speed Training
10743 Smokey's Garage
10744 Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 Race
10745 Lightning McQueen's Team Race

To bad it's juniors. I love pixar and I would love some good Cars builds actually. But yeah, Juniors is the way to go for the Cars demographic.

Blue Power Jet for the win!

And going for Assembly Square as the FIRST modular? Damn, son. Go big or go home it is!
Yeah I think I am right on time but sure I would have liked the earlier ones too like parisian, brick bank, detective's etc

My favorite theme is still Monster Fighters btw.

That is a nice Snowspeeder

My latest builds and my first modular (2x vip points):

How'd you like the Falcon? Just curious as I've never felt mine was particularly sturdy. Seems to want to fall apart every time it's touched. It's not detailed enough to be a great display piece but also not durable enough for kids to enjoy playing with it. I thought it was kinda weird altogether but I'm still happy to own it.

Not a favorite. Took like 3 months to build.. a bag here and there. Was not fun overall. Oh well, I'll sell it in a while.

Still time to get those older ones!
I will see how this one goes, then I might get more.

Oh how I wish I'd come back to Lego sooner, the Monster Fighters Haunted House (10228) is so darn expensive now!
Only ones I missed. I still like all the other sets (sold evreything except one though).

i fear the day when i have an attack of consumerism and buy this secondhand.

my frustrations with capitalism are always at odds with my love of useless adorable crap lol.

Walking out the door to go to doctors appointment and fed ex pulls up with Silent Mary. Damn it, this is why I wanted it yesterday. Maybe I will have a long night with it and some Grey Goose.

Drink an entire bottle of Grey Goose before you start building, then post the results

Need to get to feeling up the bags. The batmen are easy to find since you spot his cowel, and then find the accessory like the ducky, claw, or guitar. Red Hood and March Harriet can be found be their helmets. It takes a bit to get used to feeling them out, and you'll probably feel awkward doing it, but most are easily determined.

Out of the Lego loop for a while but just got the email about the UCS Snowspeeder. Will definitely grab one even though I had spent almost as much a while ago trying to part out the original release. Never finished. (Those orange pieces and windshields are expensive!)

I finished my Silent Mary and I'm kinda disappointed with it. It is extremely fragile. Like, I feel it might break apart just from looking at it. For a set with a bunch of "play features" it definitely wasn't designed to be played with. I had a hard time even just moving it from my desk where I built it to where it is displayed on the shelf. Maybe I'll like it more once I've seen the movie and can relate to what the special features are for.

Onto bag 8 of Silent Mary. Onto the last half of this bomber of beer.
So damn good. That applies to the ship and the beer.

Short review at the halfway point: like the strange offspring of Sea Cow and Silver Mine Shootout.

So I finally landed a job that gets me out of the gutter (starving artist here...) and have actual money I can spend more freely.

Time to make up for my lost time. I primarily need to pickup the last Bionicle sets of 2016 and I want to get the more recent Droid Escape for the Jawas. Anyone know the best place to buy Bionicle 2016 Summer sets and the Droid escape set?

Barnes and Noble should have them. At least my store in town has them still. Well, just droids.

Trying not to judge about the Smirnoff Ice. I used to love that stuff. :)

Enjoy the build. So damn good thus far. Almost done with bag 8.

Finishing my bomber of Dechutte's Scotch Aged Abyss Stout. Slowing down due to the tasty beverage.

Ha, i'm too old to jump right into the hard stuff. I have to start smooth and work up. Now that i'm on bag 3 i'm stepping up the game.

The first few bags are all skeleton build. It's necessary with not using hull pieces. I also notice alot of strengthening techniques like doubling up on certain connections. Especially the front gimmick.

Row Sparrow, Row!

They really put work into even the instruction book. It almost feels like an UCS set.

The details at the start of the instructions really are great.

And good to see you have stepped up the alcohol game. The trick is take your time. Savor it. Think it took me two hours to go through this pint.

I am sure it sounds judgemental, but I just can't do it. I watched some old dude digging through toys at Target one time trying to find the rare version or whatever. At the time I wasn't sure what he was doing, but after people mentioned it I connected the dots and felt really embarrassed for him.

I never collected these things before, but we just like Batman. I bought my first batch of these at ToysRUs and these were at the register where it would be tougher to do. We didn't do that on purpose but just did an impulse buy. Second batch I ordered from Lego just so ppl wouldn't have picked thru them.

It's cool though, just was hoping maybe some other folks had extras. Grand scheme and all it isn't a big deal, as we don't generally buy these.

Oh, you magnificent bastard.

Really, really awesome. And really, really fragile to pick up. Still haven't quite figured out how to pick it up to move it upstairs quite yet. But once it is set, it is awesome looking.

The bend mechanism is incredible strong and sturdy, which was a worry. The fallen mast is a bit weak, but of course, it is supposed to be fallen, so it works.

And ZOMBIE SHARKS! Not only does it come with two of them, but you actually hide them in the underside of the ship to drop them out to eat fools!

EDIT: Now with more Sea Cow (very dusty Sea Cow)

Silent Mary is maybe a good 4 inches shorter than Sea Cow at its highest, but about 3-4 inches longer. The width on Silent Mary is just a bit more due to the wider masts.

EDIT 2:
Okay, figured out how to carry the thing. Gotta lift the side flaps up some to reach under and grab the main structure. Not that stress inducing once you get hold of it. And tomorrow, gotta build a small display stand for the figures to go in the display case.

Potato cam, I know. But it is late and it is a tight hallway.

Meh. Still looks like a kid took a half-built pirate ship and threw it on the ground. I will have a look at it today in person, but I doubt that I will change my mind.

As i feared, the snowspeeder is 229 euro in Belgium. Sigh. That's a pass, unless I can buy it in Germany when there is double vip (very slim chance)

Everytime I'm at mall I'll grab a few Batman blind bags and it's been duplicates everytime. Feeling the bags isn't really an option because I'm terrible at it and all the Lego blind bags are directly in front of the cashier, making an already awkward process unbearable.

Tip if you feel awkward: buy the packs, go home, feel the bags there, return or change the unwanted ones.
