Another well aged tweet from the trump camp lul
These are great.

Actually, uh. Yes? As both emergency services and pre-existing conditions are required by law to be covered, you're good to go? If you end up addicted to those pain killers necessary during recovery from said loss, Obamacare has you covered there, too! If you somehow end up depressed that your health care has saved you repeatedly, that's also, also covered.

Douthat with the hot takes over here.

@DouthatNYT
So now that everyone seems to be coming around to Trump as Jimmy Carter, it's time to ponder ... Bernie Sanders as Ronald Reagan.

@DouthatNYT
With his run against Hillary as his Reagan-in-'76, his age as a supposed impediment, his wild-eyed socialism as a supposed liability ...
I like Bernie.

I voted for Bernie.

Please stop trying to make Bernie happen.

The Russian state-owned news website Sputnik has applied for a White House hard pass and is seeking membership in the White House Foreign Press Group in order to become a part of pool rotations.

Sputnik, which Foreign Policy magazine described as the "BuzzFeed of propaganda," would be part of a rotating group of roughly 22 overseas outlets following President Donald Trump in his everyday interactions along with pool reporters from American print, TV, and radio outlets.

Many people are saying that Paul Ryan should lose his position as Speaker of the House and live in never ending shame for the rest of his life. Many, many people. Believe me.

It's gonna be really interested to see if attendance at town halls drops off sharply now that the ACA is the law of the land for a while longer or if people will stick with it and keep calling Congress and attending meetings.

Lol fail bill.

And thinking he can pin this on Democrats.

Yep good luck with that, almost every major news outlet isn't even highlighting Ryan the architect of the bill, they are all talking about Trumps bill collapsing as headline grabbers, his loss, his party's loss. I don't even agree with this as I feel it misses the fact the president isn't the legislature leader, but in the end failures always lead to the top. Obama got blamed for years for Republicans obstruction in the senate. Trump can't even get the house to push a bill through for him when his party owns it.

Double lol.

Nah, if 2014 taught me anything it's that voters also blame everything on Democrats. Besides, Truman got reelected by running against a Republican Congressional majority, so Trump should be able to win by running against Congressional Democrats when there's a Republican Congressional majority and besides this time is different.

They'll find a new way to piss people off. Just watch.

Near as I can tell, that's Dworkin reporting that he himself just reported Nunes to the FBI.

I'd like to see a better source before running with this. The guy's Twitter timeline doesn't inspire much confidence.

I'm sure Nunes has been reported to the FBI. That doesn't mean anything is going to happen, though. Just being reported doesn't mean anything by itself. Like theoretically this guy could've reported Nunes himself.

That's exactly what it is.

RT if I should report #Nunes to the authorities. You know, for breaking a thing called laws...

Turns out Lord Bingham forgot the most important principle of the rule of law: it must pass the retweet threshold.

Jason Miller on CNN throwing the entire GOP under the bus victimizing Trump. I assume he gets talking points from team trump still; I bet that's how Donald feels

So, nothing?

That sucks. It almost sounded like something exciting was happening.

Based on a few articles from the NYT it sounded like the Trump camp was blaming the Democrats since not a single one would support that AHCA.

Blaming the minority party when you have full control of all three branches doesn't work and it just makes them look like they're making excuses for being stupid (which they are)

Just saw Nate Silver in the flesh here in Boise. They taped a live 538 Podcast right in front of the concert I'm going to at this theater. He was posing for selfies and looking super awkward. Fun times.

Wouldn't compromising have been better for the Freedom Caucus? I mean they went from repealing some sections of the ACA with Ryan's bill and compromise to getting nothing and now it probably will not get worked on again for quite some time.

They're moving onto tax reform because they need to do something quickly about it. I'm sure that parts of the GOP, notably the FC, will push to tackle healthcare again eventually.
I believe they can do it under reconciliation rules next time the budget gets debated, which is apparently this fall. The problem is that it is that much closer to the 2018 elections, which makes congressmen less persuadable.

Not like they even tried talking to the democrats about it in the first place.

That's the best part. They knew Dems would have nothing to do with their plan, yet somehow simultaneously blame them for the failure of the AHCH and say they own they ACA. The mental gymnastics are impressive.

Compromise? I don't think that word exists in their dictionary.

This was a power grab by them and it was completely successful. They own the GOP now.
