Gen Butcheroo tweeted details on the Thunderbolt Gaiden. It's a two part omnibus special that will depict a prequel story set just before the first season, as well as an epilogue type story showing what happened after the first season. The first part already has a novella written by Butchy, he's writing the second part now.

I don't know if anyone knew about this already, but it looks like Nagahama and Stan Lee's anime, The Reflection, is airing this July. It'll be interesting to see Nagahama do something like this, even though I'm not especially fond of superhero media.

Not really, Shitose > all the girls in Shirobako :p

Really enjoyed her character and growth!

Chitose is fucking savage with the shade she casts.

The best part of Girlish Number is its apt and appropriate object lesson that things like talent, hard work, or commitment to your craft are wholly unnecessary if you've got a cute face, nepotism, and a sprinkle of fake charisma on your side.

Fortunately for you they just announced it at Anime Japan and it'll be airing in Summer.
They announced they were adapting the third volume of Owarimonogatari, actually. Zoku-Owarimonogatari is something else. But yeah, that third volume is the direct follow-up to the last episode of Koyomimonogatari.

Damn, so much catching up to do T__T

Still haven't seen last week's rakugo, IBO, the docu-drama series my friend suggested and Koyomimonogatari.

Read a lot of One Piece.

I loved this series. It was such a great "companion show" to watch since I also just finished Shirobako earlier today. Chitose's character arc throughout the season was very well written, especially with her getting knocked off her horse in the second half.

I wish I had watched this sooner, because it definitely would've been in my Top 3 for the best of 2016 anime voting.

Hype. Looks like a big ass
Chariot death flag
tho.
And Chariot turns out to be French - kinda fitting with her stage costume being red, white and blue.

You're Under Arrest - File 1

Well damn, I'm amazed at that opening car chase sequence, it's going to go up there as one of my favourite chases in anime. I didn't expect this OVA to be as great as it actually was, great animation, scenery, comedy and fun voice work from both leads brings together a brilliant episode, can't stress how stunned I am with this first parter, loved every minute of it.

Holy shit you watched 12 episodes in 5 hours. That's dedication
and more effort than Shitose would have put in.

the netflix live action death note trailer has me lol'ing

that's exactly how I've always wanted Light to look. He looks like like a kid who goes to 4chan to cry about real justice in the world.

Rakugo Shinjuu S2E12

To be fair, there were some really good moments this season, especially early on. Still, I've had this gut feeling the whole time that this season wasn't quite as good as the first, and the finale - while not terrible or anything - kind of hammers that in. I'm never a big fan of "
flash forward to the kids!
" epilogues anyway, but the
ridiculous and out-of-nowhere character assassination of Konatsu, one of my favorite characters, honestly retroactively hurts other parts of the show. It's kind of hard to look at either her or Yakumo the same way after.
Someone else in the thread mentioned it, but it really does feel like the author tried too hard to tie everything together in unneeded ways. I'm also a little disappointed that the big finale rakugo performance was
once again Shinigami, which feels like it's been leaned on too heavily thematically this season.

So tomorrow's Tiger Mask W is bringing back the duo that did episode 4.

Haruka Kamatani on directing/storyboarding and Kodai Watanabe as animation director.

Should be fun.

Chitose was my personal standout character of last season, and even though I put it I think 7th on my list if I hadn't gone back to watch YoI, Mob, and Rakugo in January it would have been my 4th. Which is a little weird to think about.
