Yes you are. You are part of the pathfinder team. Your father didn't you put in the team out of some weird nepotism. You're supposed to be a professional.

you getting to be pathfinder is pretty much exactly space nepotism. did you miss the entire thread about cora being the runner up and you having no idea what to do because you weren't supposed to be pathfinder?

The whole tone of the game is way lighter compared to the original trilogy

Which suits me just fine because looooool meaningless side spoilers
They did the whole 'surprise naked' thing that Handmaiden did in KOTOR2 except it ended in alien butt which confused everyone in the joint

You would call 911 on your co-worker because she is socially awkward when it comes to asking someone out? Holy shit...

No, because all my collegues are professionals and not socially awkward, down to the level of 6th graders.

Her flirting options with some of the crew come off as a 13 year old trying to ask a girl to the school dance.

She doesn't have to be James Bond or some shit, but common. how about:

"This is actually super interesting. I'd really like to talk more about this with you, how about, maybe next time we dock at the Nexus we grab a couple of drinks, and you'll let me pick your brain?"

I'm not writer, by ANY stretch of the imagination, but I think I just did a better job.

Stop saying literally everything. It isn't literally everything "but polish" that this game suffers from. Story writing and level design isn't polish in nature (there is a need for it when done). There are plenty of things wrong with this game, and many that are not. It isn't "literally" flawless bar one thing.

I'm not saying it's perfect bar technical and animation issues, I'm saying that the quality of the story and level design isn't objective so they shouldn't be wielding their opinion of it like a club to shut up people they disagree with.

Yes you are. You are part of the pathfinder team. Your father didn't you put in the team out of some weird nepotism. You're supposed to be a professional. She's also supposed to be a scientist, and yet she can't pronounce some basic scientific terms. I don't even know what the writer was going for there. Implying she was stupid?

It's actually favoritism. Sara is supposed to be an archeologist in the alliance and Scott a noob alliance soldier.

SPOILERS FOR PRETTY MUCH THE WHOLE GAME
It seems he made one of them pathfinder because among many things
1-He ruined their alliance career after he was publicly shamed for his AI research
2- Had to bring them along because of 1 and the reaper scare from his contacts
3- They know about the SAM AI more than anyone else and can merge with it
4- He wanted them to be the one to save their mom/be with their mom so he dies instead of one of them and passes the SAM AIpower to them.

You are supposed to be more or less a newbie in the game's world which is why nobody respect you in the beginning.

I'm really enjoying the game, just gained Evfra's trust. Jaal is definitely my husbando, I really like his character.

Speaking of characters, I like everyone so far, maybe Liam and Peebee to a lesser extent. I'd like to deploy everyone to hear their exchanges lol.

Exactly ty, and by doing things on planets and solving aspects. You begin to find what a proper pathfinder is all about.

You don't say!

WHAT? What 22 (she's 22) year old with any sort of self respect talks like that? What sort of trained professional, pathfinder in training - one of the most demanding and imprtant roles int he whole operation, talks like that? To a member of the crew, no less. Can you picture a trianed astronaut talking like that?

If I saw a co-worker talking like that and it wasn't obvious that he was joking, I'd call 911, thinking he might be having a stroke.

Thanks for the unnecessary snark, my guy. And semantics. She's 22. Okay.

Being a professional doesn't preclude Sara being a fucking goof. And socially awkward. Especially when she's flirting with someone, which, to my understanding, is a moment in which you're opening yourself up. People react to that experience in different ways. Sara's reaction, given that she's socially awkward, is perfectly viable.

Seems to me like you're conflating judgments of character with characterization. If you don't like her, fine. If you think she's fucking dumb, fine. But that scene is in line with her characterization up to that point.

To be honest, that's what I love about Female Ryder. Yeah she can have some cheeky and question voice responses but to be honest. That's what I love about her, her personality is awesome.

That's also ignoring a certain 100 year old renowned scientist and central character throughout the original trilogy whose whole shtick was being socially awkward.

Reminds me of that guy who was obsessed with Shepard through out the whole Trilogy and seeing that his
daughter
in the game made me smile in a weird way.

Also Sara at the beginning and at the end are very different persons.

Okay to those who remember this scene at the very beginning. Which set of dialogue did you guys get?

The upper. I also committed to Sara and Alec having next to no relationship, which seems accurate from what I could tell throughout the game.

Interesting choice there good sir.

Wow I didn't know he yelled at you for not straying off course. Wow Dad you suck. I was busy trying to save people :(

I've come across a few moments like this in the game from main story side mission stand points and hell even Squad mate missions.

I just hit 100% viability on
Elaaden
, I didn't think getting my outposts to max viability would be the first thing I did but the quests and side quests flow well enough into each other that It just made sense to do it that way. Still a lot of loyalty missions and the
archon flagship
to go.

I've played ME3, Dragon Age: Origins, Witcher 3 and now this back to back to back and the 50 hours I've spent so far in Andromeda have gone by the fastest. Definitely not without its share of bugs and uneven production values but it moves at a pace and provides variety in a way that I've really enjoyed.

God ENOUGH some of us just want to talk about the game in piece take the reasons you chose to not like it into one of the fifteen thousand threads already about that.

There's a difference between being critical of the game and shouting about how much you hate it and how shit it is at every opportunity.

It's such a shame that romances haven't been fleshed out after ME 1-3. Literally a selling point imo.

I chose Vetra to be my partner and it sucks that you really can't do anything anymore after all the romance scenes. There are points though where she will randomly associate your relationship with you, or her sister does it but thats kinda it and it sucks.

I wanna go talk with her about life, I wanna lay down in bed and chat for hours I wanna LIVE IN FUCKING MASS EFFECT. WHY THE FACK CANT IT BE ALL REAL MAN...
LET ME LIVE IN THE MASS EFFECT UNIVERSE FFS BIOWARE

VETRA I LOVE YOU <3

Lexi does recognize the Jaal romance if you ask her about him after the sex scene. She wants to know about the details of the sex for 'science'. SAM apparently has collected data for Sara to send Lexi if she chooses to do that, LOL

Try doing a mission or two elsewhere and then see if you can access it. If you have a priority mission then I suggest you go for that as it kind of "realigns" and "resets" the world everytime you do one.

I have 2 priority missions so I guess i'll finish one then go back, and try the other and go back. Thanks for the advice.

You have scanned right? Silly question I suppose...

Yeah 100% scan on the system, lets pay I watched seems like it should literally just be there waiting to be clicked on but there isn't anything in that section of the sector.

I think that out of all the BioWare games, DAI managed romance best. I mean, it's still kinda schlocky, but the relationship didn't end after you decide to go out with one of the characters.

I only ever romanced Sera, but there were a healthy number of scenes, conversations and subquests that happen after her and the Inquisitor become a thing that help the relationship feel a tad more hefty.

I'm enjoying flirting with Jaal, but I fear that after I bang him all the romantic content will be spent.

I hope there will be a Holiday Romance Wedding DLC

Edit: actually the way romances are panning out in the game feels like being married.

All this talk reminds me of how in ME1 I let Ashley die. It felt awful considering Shepard had been trying to romance her. But I was ok with Kaiden as the survivor.

And then I reunite with the fucker in ME2, and he gives me shit for working with Cerberus. I retconned his ass out of existence with the ME2 prologue tool as fast as I could after that.

Don't they both give you shit for working with Cerberus?

Fair enough in that respect. I do believe they are objective but that is my opinion and I definitely won't beat you with it until you see my way, as that yields no proper discussion.

This however does not help. Telling people they can't talk about the good and the bad of a game in its official thread is echo chamber bullshit. This is exactly where we talk about issues, critical thinking and thoughts on the game we are playing. To not do so and only allow rainbows and sunshine talk of how you did objective A is in no way helpful to a proper discussion on the game as a whole.

The countless other threads are specific to the nature of the OP, this OT is however only specific in that it's where we can talk about the game, as a whole or bit by bit. Good or bad.

Don't they both give you shit for working with Cerberus?

Yes. Which makes sense given their experience with Cerberus. Bioware also (deliberately) makes it so Shepard can never really explain what is going on or try to reconcile with them until ME3 because drama or whatever.

As for Andromeda, feels like I'm nearing the end. I don't particularly like or dislike it....having a hard time really describing how I feel about this game, to be honest. Will have to mull things over and do another playthrough, I guess.

I was able to fully romance 2 crew members, which I guess is a bug. Hope it doesn't fuck things up when it comes time to import in the sequel

Top one, and I said "it's what I trained for". I tend to lean towards the logical and professional dialogue options. Sometimes casual when I see an option I like, and sometimes emotional if something actually gets to me.

For example (Harvarl side quest spoiler):
Deleting the chemical warfare information the Roekaar, because that shit don't fly with me.

i'm not seeing it. But if this is Valley girl, then Valley girl >>>>>>>>> actual conversaiton int he game written by a writer and supposedly edited by an editor.

Fem Ryder has a lot of range and develops quite a bit over the course of the game which you missed out on cause you got rid of the game early. It's okay to not like her character but to suggest she's dumb or that she's having a stroke so you would call 911 is hilarious. What she says and how she says it isn't awkward and I'm not sure what her job title has to do with her personality. I'm sorry that you only know people in your personal life who speak one certain way that meets your expectations, but in the rest of the world there are people who find confiding in someone on a personal level to be tough and thus it can create an awkward situation. I was that way through highschool, couldn't ask a girl out if a gun was to my head, I eventually got over it (married now) but its a very real reaction to that type of situation. Judging by the reactions you had to this particular scene and how you said you'd deal with it I would even venture to say she has more social maturity than you do.

Talking about worst luck ever: (romance spoiler, Vetra)

In the last romance scene with Vetra there is a quick time event where you can hug Vetra because she feels upset and exactly when that QTE came my anti-virus programme decided to minimize my game for whatever reason and when I got back in it was over. I felt like a jerk for not hugging her lmao.

This is the reason why I gotta replay the entire game now.

Is Liam's All In mission known to be bugged? Been trying to get the final sequence to trigger for about an hour and not having any luck.
