Waiting for someone to defend this lol

It looked like a painful fall,so I'd say it did its job.

Firs for all, lol @ having a conversation in spoilers like that.

Second, some of those tweets aren't even bad? Wow, he sees white people in a pic...?
Long story. But I met the guy once. Did not get along with him.

This is off topic so we should stop now. This is about Mass Effect Andromeda and how we hope it will be fixed one day.

Not once in that post did I say I was white or male.... It's pretty ignorant and racist for you to assume that. You should rid yourself of your preconceived notions.

All I will say is that I was pressured into hiring an unqualified candidate that I had participated in an interview of that was a minority. Want to take a guess why I was pressured into hiring that person?

Listen man. Again I'm not saying this is what happened @ Bioware. I don't work there. I don't know. Obviously the employees weren't of adequate quality, otherwise they would have put out a higher quality product. They had the time and the money, thats for sure. In any case, if I'm responsible for the quality of employees I hire, I'm not going to make poor hiring decisions just to meet a diversity quota. It's literally racist to do so. And that's all I'll say about that.

As to the video. The Krogan fight scene is so appallingly bad I'm surprised it actually shipped in that state. What is UP with those voice actors too?
And at no point did I identify you as white or male. Please read again and note that I did not make that assumption. My problem is that you don't work for Bioware Montreal but continue to give life to the idea that "diversity hires" may have impacted the quality of this game, something ignorant and prejudiced gamers are doing all over the internet, because once you felt you were pressured into hiring an underqualified "diverse" candidate.

I don't think we should support or even give plausibility to an unfounded and deeply offensive idea that a bunch of "diversity hires" or SJWs are to blame for the poor quality of Mass Effect Andromeda. It's one thing to laugh at bugs and bad animations, it's an entirely different thing to suggest that this game is of poor quality because Bioware hired a bunch of women and POC due to pressure to diversify and in doing so hired a bunch of underqualified candidates.

Right?

Why are we even talking about this when that fuckin' Spiderman/LadyRyder gif is making the rounds?!

As amusing as that pic is, I'd say that is usually what happens when a body falls from a great height.

Are people expecting it to bounce or something?

The camera work is awful and the physics are otherworldly. People don't bounce, but they also don't attach to metal grates like they're fuckin' magnets :lol

I worked on wind turbines for 5 years and seens me some shit.

there'd be a bit of a bounce, some writhing (depending on height), a lot of blood

You saw people fall from great heights like that to their deaths ?

Man..That just sounds mind scarring :^/

That's cool. Don't really care that you didn't get along with him.

You just had an entire discussion "hidden" in spoiler tags about an image which was created by someone whose intentions I question given the contents of said image (e.g including stuff that's not even bad to pad it out).

Either have the discussion or don't, but doing it only half the way and then backing out might be serving the negative intentions of the images original creator (which I suppose, was a major part of the original intent in creating the picture).

A dude. Saw another dude fall from about 20m onto an expanded metal transition platform cause he didn't tie off.

Saw a tower destroy itself while two dudes were up it cause they disabled safety systems, but I was in the shop for that so :shrugsville:

What the actual fuck?

Do you know how stupid that sounds? Might as well put a disclaimer: "I don't understand game development or anything with time frames, multiple groups of people involved or budgets."

You can have all the most talented developers and designers in the world, it's not going to make a difference to things like unrealistic requirements / requirements constantly shifting / key roles leaving / any number of issues relevant to development that has little to do with the quality of the developers themselves.

Sorry man. Didn't mean to offend you. Sorry for talking about it and responding in secret cause the original poster did. Please drop it like I tried to earlier. Put me on the ignore list if you want but drop it. I won't respond to anything about this anymore.

Oh wow. I'm glad I didn't see that actually.

Considering they must have been aware that they skipped out on good facial animations for Andromeda, why did they keep the camera that's designed to place emphasis on non-verbal communication between characters?

Nier Automata has no facial animation for most of the game, yet it does an excellent job of delivering its narrative. You genuienly don't need close ups of characters faces to tell a good story, so why emphasize one of the games weakest characteristics?

2B and 9S are more emotive than anything in ME:A I've seen so far and they are androids that wear blindfolds and told emotions are prohibited.

I just... I dunno.

Shouldn't basic animations like this have some middleware animation pipeline that is taken care of almost automatically?

I'm not in gamedev so feel free to laugh your asses off at my staggering ignorance, but I assumed that at least some of this stuff was taken care of by intermediary programs and you only hand-animate specific things of importance? While obviously doing quality checks on other less important parts of the game to make sure they weren't broken as fuck.

What the fuck is this garbage. I walk into a Crowbcat thread and this is what I get?

"I'm not saying Bioware was hiring minorities because of Affirmative Action but I am saying that these subpar animators did a terrible job because they are unqualified and it is racist to hire based on color. Oh and BTW I was forced to hire a minority who was terrible at their job.

But totes not saying Bioware did that."

Atleast on NeoGAF I thought I avoided the "SJWS RUINED MY GAMES" stuff. Sigh. Not even based on fucking evidence. Just speculation. Facepalm worthy.

If a friend who's opinion I trusted said it had 1/5th the emotional punches to the guts as Nier Automata, I would consider buying MEA tomorrow it inspite of the janks and questionable writing I have seen.

I'm sorry if this has been answered before but could the issues with the animation and bugs also be a result of the developers maybe not being familiar with the Frostbite engine? I believe the previous engine that Mass Effect was on was the Unreal Engine.

I know the developers who made Dragon Age Inquisition did a good job as far as I can see in my opinion but I'm curious to see if maybe that would have been a helping cause of why Andromeda is so janky at times.

I think this is obvious, no one could fuck up this bad if they were experienced with the tool used.

"Back up. Literally". As opposed to metaphorically backing up?

It's incredibly off-putting hearing characters use 2015 slang and colloquialisms. I really don't expect nor want a game set hundreds of years in the future to have speech and verbiage a 20 something from this era would have.

I really don't recall the other games in the series' writing sounding so dated and out of place.

The game is a mess. I'm a superfan and I'm very disappointed I had no willpower and purchased the game knowing full well the state it was in.

The snark is strong with this one.

This is some Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric level of unpolished failure going on. Freaking hilarious.

But those last ten seconds though outright crossed the line twice. Was literally howling with laughter at that, for all of the intended wrong reasons.

Stay strong EA and Bioware.

Oh my....

This is like Too Human levels of shitfuck

The incredible thing is that a lot of these 'glitches' are easily reproduced and/or happen on routine playthroughs for a lot of people. This game needed 6-12 more months. The strangest, most unforgivable thing is the near complete lack of music. Only a few major cutscenes have it. It's completely absent everywhere else. It's baffling. It completely kills the atmosphere. It's like the game wasn't scored by a composer.

nier automata spoilers:
Yeah... Ya had to know it was coming. Especially if you know the kind of environment Nier Automata exists within and/or you've played Dark Souls. Everyone gets fucked, but the innocents twice as hard.
