Like I said before, they should just adapt Attack on Titan already. It has an obvious hook, is currently extremely popular worldwide, and all but one character is canonically white, so it would be hard for even Hollywood to screw up.

Hey Hollywood have I got a pitch for YOU.

The villain is this guy

But he's 50 ft tall and eats people.
Audiences will eat it up (haha!).
I'm looking for a $200M production budget.

Because its more stylish, and the soundtrack would be fire.

Soundtrack is just RZA already. Hell, bring over the game soundtrack too. I think I preferred it to the flick.

If we're talking about adaptions, Bebop is still the best and easiest adaption not done. Spike looks like Keanu Reeves and it's basically around the same persona. Doesn't need to be fairly large budget and the 2 part episodes would each make a great flick for your trilogy. It's popular, it takes from Western, Scifi, and Jazz, etc. It's not really culturally reliant on a single place, etc.

Mediocre whitewashing movies and TV shows take L's. Doctor Strange got lucky.

The Ancient One wasn't the name of the movie. Dr. Strange was and he is White.

I think Wulf is talking about movies like GitS and Gods Of Egypt where the leads were White re-imaginings.

BTW, what up, Wulf?

The movie was sabotaged

Well played, sir.

Saw three movies this week. Power Rangers, Life, and Ghost in the Shell. The fucking Power Rangers movie was the one that handled its characters the best. Power Rangers! The other two were throughly mediocre.

Part of me is sad to see Ghost in the Shell flounder cause I want more female led action movies and more anime adaptations. The other part remembers how lazy the movie is and doesn't want to see that rewarded. Everything good about the movie was in the trailers, and everything good about the trailers is them copying from the animated films. It didn't even do Ghost in the Shell existential mumbo jumbo well. Just the occasional "Who am I?" sprinkled across the script.

Still doesn't excuse it from the bigger problem.

Of course not but it's not comparable.

GitS and Gods Of Egypt were movies explicitly marketed with all White leads, where the subject matter didn't call for that.

Dr. Strange had a White lead in the title role but there was White washing lower down the rungs, ala the Johnny Depp Tonto in the Lone Ranger.

Ghost in the Shell has about as much chance at making $200M in profit as Monster Trucks had.

It already has made more money on foreign market than Power Rangers did in two weeks. It will probably do numbers like Warcraft or Pacific Rim and it was cheaper then both of them.

I'd love to know if I'm ever going to get the chance to see Trainspotting 2. Surely it's coming to more theaters than that.

"You in danger, gurl" is a quote from Ghost (1990).

Whoopi Goldberg says it to Demi Moore.

That I get.

The capitalized U in gUrl and the first half of the title is weird...Always.

I would love for one of the titles to be K-Swizz doing his Rachel Maddow style world building where he ingeniously takes data from today and links it to like the box off totals of Hudson Hawk or sumshit. :)

Considering they are still debating a sequel for Warcraft and Pacific Rim 2 was pushed through using Guillermo del Toro's tears as lube , not that big of an achivement

Well, when you see bombs like Ghostbusters or even Life (Reynolds and Gyllenhaal) it at least is something. Power Rangers will fall behind it as well and several other movies, so I guess you can't have everything, but at least it is something.

Nothing wrong with the logic behind that at all...

Well, that's a pathetic number for GITS. So much for the idea of Johansson being a box office draw, but I'm not surprised, box office draws are few and far between these days.

Also RIP Power Rangers film series! Oh well!
Why? I thought they said PR's first weekend.box office beat expectations so it should be going good right?

Hard to complain about "generic Star Trek action" when they release one of the best Star Trek adventures ON it's 50th Anniversary and people don't show because "ew Beastie Boys"

To be fair, that sequence is god awful.

Oh, and the intro with the gerbil aliens was Attack of the Clones-level shit.

Oh, and the action was incredibly underwhelming, especially considering who's behind the camera.

I still thought Beyond was alright, but it has some serious issues. I can totally see why it bombed.
