‘The Walking Dead’ – Season 7, Part 2 – Sundays on AMC

"TVLINE | This fight was pretty major — all of our regulars, plus Shiva. What’s the Season 8 war going to be like?

It’s going to be different. They aren’t going to meet in Alexandria every weekend and do that. There are twists and turns to it, definitely some small-scale things and some large-scale things and a whole different momentum to the story. Now that [the various factions] are in public conflict and everything is on the table as far as everybody knows who everybody is to each other and what’s going on, the narrative changes a lot. It’s going to become a bit more kinetic and fast-moving, because that’s where the story is going. The content is definitely going to be determining the form."

Gimple is the one of the worst overseller and under-deliverer in ages. After all his promises about the second half of season 7 being so great, and satisfying and how the season 7 finale would be so good, I won't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

Also, why did the trash lady want to sleep with Rick if she was going to betray him?

Maybe if Rick had agreed to that she would have made sure the explosives still went off and upheld the deal she made with Rick ;)

It's all ricks fault just because he wouldn't get down with Jadis.

This exact scene with Maggie circling around the car and engaging the group she literally just left seconds earlier made me crack up. So fucking dumb.

Despite liking the finale, I'll have to admit this scene made me laugh my ass off.

"Guys, I'm going around the car. COVER ME!"

Really unsatisfying finale the saviors basically got away easily with minor losses, really pisses me off. I wanted some dynamite action with a truck load of saviors.

They really need the help of oceanside next season, even with the kingdom and hilltop they look weak as hell. Also what will the hilltop do know? I don't see them going back being a good idea, the saviors could just roll up to them and wipe them out easily.

If they are smart they would all move in together either at the kingdom or Alexandria so they don't just get rolled one by one.

That said, all of them have pretty good walls and shooting lines so it won't exactly be easy to just roll up on each outpost, especially if all 3 groups can get their hands on some rpgs.

I think I know what they were going for (Maggie making sure no one was hiding to ambush the group all badass style), but it just didn't turn out very well on screen.

I feel like it might be a good idea to get off of this show's train. They are going to keep dragging things out. They are only going to come to a conclusion when they are forced to by shitty ratings, so it will likely be some half-assed attempt the writers put together while they are looking for new jobs.

Someone should have shot off Negan's middle finger as he was driving away, just so something happened to him. Him being in the middle of the reinforcements arriving and getting away completely unscathed is ridiculous, he would have been the number one target.

The whole ending fight after Sasha left the coffin was just bizarre and confusing. I think I like the finale in theory, just bad execution.

That was a weird as fuck finale.

The trash people betraying Rick and co...didn't someone call this last week? That they were getting the guns for Negan? And Sasha gong out like that. Not happy about that at all. I get it, she's on a new show, but did they really have to kill her? Couldn't have just left her in the prison or some shit? Maybe she escapes and goes on the run.

So it's war. Negan seems to have the much bigger army and he's backed up by other communities who pay them along with the trash people, why didn't he just roll back up on them after getting some reinforcements? Why is Negan suddenly so stupid? Hard to believe this is someone who founded the Saviours and managed to stay in power for so long.

Come on buddy give it one more season. Have faith.

if i hear good things about the episodes then i'll watch it, but i won't waste my time on it anymore.

i used to always make sure to see the episodes as they premiered, this season i watched them the next day, next season i just won't care unless there is pure, positive buzz.

The show is massively successful and will obviously be on the air for years to come - I was talking about the rest of the post~

Another tv network should make a decent zombie tv show

They should just call the press and say "Look, zombies are great material for a tv show, but The Walking Dead sucks. So we are going to make a tv show about zombies - a good one. With believable dialog and interesting situations. And its gonna have 30 episodes per season and its going to be so good you will thank us for that"

And no, z nation dosent count

I know how you feel, I watched a lot of them this season a few days after they aired until the last few weeks. I just can't abandon the show, I feel I'm too invested in the characters.

10 seasons I could see, 20? Naaah.

I'll admit it wasn't a strong finale. A nice monologue at the end by Maggie with the final shot of Glenn's watch was a nice touch, though. A little bit of a happy ending after the nightmare of the previous finale.

The core Walking Dead characters sticking around for 20 seasons? I just couldn't fathom Andrew Lincoln doing this for 20 years, he would be in his mid 50's by then.

Spin-offs like Fear the Walking Dead I can continue to see. But 20 seasons of the core group of actors? Just not going to happen IMO.

It would have been interesting if they somehow mangled Negan's hand. Badly enough where he couldn't even hold Lucille with two hands anymore. That would have been a satisfying revenge, at least temporarily. It seems like that would bother Negan a ton.

The whole notion that killing Negan would do nothing is so absurd. Sure his enforcers would still probably be able to pick up the slack eventually, but acting it would do nothing to take out their leader who they treat like a god and is the mastermind behind pretty much all of their operations is just annoying.

Because Negan doesn't give a fuck

Anyway, this season/finale was pretty padded for tv purposes, badly. The trash people are extremely weird and didn't add much, except for the Regenarator which Rick had to fight. Them betraying Rick was so phoned in, I rolled my eyes. Last 25 or so minutes felt rushed and disconnected. Still had a few cool scenes.

- Zombie Sasha was a given. Eugene is playing Negan. He plays the dimwitted coward so very well. Negan gets schooled.
- Rick's little "You're allready dead" was perfect
- Lol Maggie circling the car. Come the fuck on Mags. That wasn't quite good.
- Carl showed a glimpse of King Carl from the comics. Just a glimpse.
- Suprise! A tiger, out of nowhere! Eziekel trained her well.
- Negan flipping off Alexandria was worth it

I'll still watch next season, but man it's becoming a chore. A really difficult chore. Good thing there is the comicbook to enjoy.

Real talk this season was super lethargic. Watched the first 2 episodes and couldn't do it. Watched the Negan/Lucille scene on Youtube to get caught up. Used Gaf and Reddit for spoilers then watched the finale. Feel like did not miss a thing.

I enjoyed this season, the only thing I didn't like about it was the trash people - I was hoping Michonne was going to win her fight and then shoot the trash leader Jadis in the head. I hope they're killed off quickly next season.

I think the Alexandrian's got the upper hand when it kicked off, because I think the trash people thought the Alexandrian's would just stand down. So they were caught off guard when they were attacked.

The promos for the next season of Fear The Walking Dead look like they have more zombie action than Season 7

-Early on I thought Sasha was going to be buried alive. Showing the coffin made me more certain about it. The zombie turn took me by surprise, which was a semi good twist, but I would've hoped for something much more dramatic.

-I guessed Carl won't be killed. Anticipated someone saving him in the last second. While the tiger being the savior was a surprise, it was way too disappointing. Not only I don't care for the tiger at all, it boggles me how a tiger like that would be able to come that close without anyone pointing it out.

-It was so obvious Michonne wasn't the one who fell. I've been quite an apologist for the fake-out deaths in this series, but I think I'm about to get tired of them.

-I actually loved the betrayal. The episode was quite boring up until that moment. It became very tense after that, but too bad it didn't last long. Tension died the moment the tiger saved the day and it never picked up after that.

-I don't know if the "cliffhanger" here was better or worse than the cliffhanger of season 4, which was absolutely horrible (I liked season 4 a lot but the ending was awful).

I know the betrayal was always there but what the hell was the point of cutting down the tree, that warned them. Terrible episode. The whole was just cheap and badly thought out, that's after a weak season as well. They are banking big time and doing sod all.

Uh... I'm not sure you were paying full attention to the episode. Or like, any attention.

Because then you'd have the regular viewers (as in, people who don't follow industry news) wondering where she was. They'd constantly be asking for her to make an appearance and that just probably wouldn't be possible to do with her as the lead on another show (one that will most likely last for at least 2 seasons).

Heath was insignificant enough for it to work but Sasha was one of the main characters.

So it's war. Negan seems to have the much bigger army and he's backed up by other communities who pay them along with the trash people, why didn't he just roll back up on them after getting some reinforcements?

The episode ended before anything like that could happen - for all we know, season 8 could open with him doing just that!

Mariska Hargitay has been on Law and Order SVU for 18 years and Ellen Pompeo seems content to do nothing but Grey's Anatomy for the rest of her career (she's been on that show for going on 14 years). It's all up to Andrew Lincoln, but it's not inconceivable that he'd want to stay on the show for that long. (especially given that he's one of the highest paid actors on television)

How so, I know Dwight explained they should do it to slow them down but unless he was lying again and it was a signal that they are waiting to kill them I think it was a baffling decision.

This ending sucked balls. I think its on par with the Governor shit. It was definitely disappointing. Even with the extended time, I was hoping something good wood happen and by that I mean interesting and believable.

-Why was Michonne nerfed? She couldn't fight 1:1? Inst she like OP by now? Like I didnt buy what they were portraying...Michonne possibly being tossed off the building and Rick being all sad like a puppy. ROLF!!

-Horrible entrance by The King and shitty 1st kill by Tiger. You mean to say that animal has ninja skills? No one saw or heard something running at them?

-Sasha going out the way she did. Wow no words.

-Trash people if not in the comics, why make them piss people more? It must mean Rick and crew will wipe them out as they really serve no purpose other than to tick people off.

-Negan shitty lines. "something something they have a tiger!"..."that pregnant lady is a bad ass!" *tried to shot and fails* (lol i forgot the actual line but its stupid.)

I'm confused. Negan already knew Rick's plan and Dwight told them they were already coming because of it but he could help.

I wish the scavengers died. They talk like living meme comics.

"What you fight for?"
"So I and Michonne can haz Cheezeburger"
"Rick, plz"

I'm honestly not sure how you missed that. Haha.

There was even the moment at the end where Daryl found the carved sculpture with the words on it "DIDN'T KNOW" that showed that Dwight didn't betray them lol.
