Hearthstone |OT9| Our raid wiped in Icecrown Citadel

I got stupidly lucky and got golden The Caverns Below in my first batch of packs. This'll be fun! I've never played Rogue very seriously in any of the previous expansions.

So, this expansion really slowed the meta down for me, outside of the rogue games that steamroll quickly (although I've managed to shut down at least half the rogues I've come up against with my deathrattle quest priest, and that usually happens by turn 10 or so).

I'm having the longest control games I've ever had in 3 years of playing.

I'm anywhere between ranks 13 and 20 on the ladder the last few days. Barely seen these aggro rushes everyone's talking about. Faced one Pirate Warrior on launch day.

how weird is it that stonetusk boar is a meta-relevant card?

I'm using glacial shard instead, pre-quest it's much much stronger than the boar and afterwards it's still pretty good.

Anyhow the quest rogue is quite something but it certainly isn't an insane overpowered deck. It has a lot of flaws. From not drawing your 3rd rebouncer in time, to getting completely agroed / tempoed and even some random elements.
I lost a game because my 3rd copy got rekt by a random potion of polymorth, it didn't trigger the effect. Dirty rats also have a great chance to completely destroy the deck.

As far as the mage one, it's cool but it also has it's flaws, and it's insanely weak to dirty rats.
Let's see how it goes, maybe the giants version will prove to be superior in the long run.

Quest hunter is just bad, really bad. A more tempo/beast build will surely be better.

Regardless, this expansion has been great in how varied the decks are, this is what I've wanted a long time ago.
At least jades are completely dead, no way they can compete in this meta with rogues, mages and pirate warriors.

i played megafin into mistcaller in wild o_o the only time i've ever gotten any use out of this damn legendary, lol. it's probably not worth keeping it in the murloc deck but finally got him to do something useful lol, idk if it's worth keeping except for the memes, but the deck is almost entirely minions so i guess it's the only time you'd even consider it

Freaking Van Cleef. I hate that card so much.

I think 3 out of my 4 losses to quest rogue is because of that card being so huge on turn 4 or earlier.

I probably shouldn't tech in anything to my murloc paladin just for that single card, but it's so damn annoying. I don't know what to do.

Goddamn, Golden elementals are among the prettiest cards ever in this game, they shine so pretty, also I feel like thematically they fit even better than murlocs in shaman

Mayor Noggenfogger question:

Ive never seen him played. Priest in Arena had Prince Malchezar and played him on turn 10 with a full board and only 7 health.

I know he chooses random targets, but can he make guys hit his own team? I only ask cause I was at 30 health and every single guy hit my face and no attacks I used hit intended opponents.

Bad luck working as intended or god tier RNG?

No. If you can't target something then the mayor can't either.

Oh cool I've been meaning to try out a pseudo dragon/elemental deck. What rank are you trying it at?

I've been messing around with quest/highlander, It's not amazing but it sure is a lot of fun. Btw Free from Amber has been delivering, love that card.

I've run it up to rank 10, so really just in the low teens. I'm going to see how far it'll take me before it starts to fizzle, or at the very least until the winrate starts to stabilize.

I tried handlock out. Man i have no idea what I'm doing with that deck. I won a great grindy game against a taunt warrior though.

I know people think ice lance was the problem with freeze mage, but to me it was always iceblock. Without iceblock they wouldn't be able to get the combo off a lot of the time. I am annoyed they kept iceblock in.

EDIT: They made it even more annoying where mage can time warp between iceblocks so they can basically skip 3 of your turns in a row.

Which Quest cards seem to be the best? Warrior's seemed pretty nasty and easy to activate. Druid's also seemed nasty.

Savjz climbed to 28 legend purely with handbuff Paladin. Crushes warrior, not that great vs Rogue but Rogue decks sometimes just lose to their own slow hands.

Seems like a ton of fun, Bristleburn crushes pirate warrior and the pally hero power crushes Sulfuras.

You want to try to mulligan for either Humungous Plant/Argent Watcher combo or Mountain Giant/Twilight Drake combo.

Whichever set of cards you get dictates your early game play. You want to either be getting your taunts up early game, especially if you are going against aggro, or you want to be hitting the button until you can drop a huge Mountain Giant or Twilight Drake into a Faceless Shambler the next turn.

Warrior and Hunter Quests seem to be getting killed by the meta right now, Rogue is the early days powerhouse so far.

I had a massive taunt wall up of minions that can't attack against taunt warrior and then was like....crap what do i do now? Luckily i drew mountain giant and shambler to actually start to do some damage.

I just beat 3 rogue in a row because I play elemental paladin. That thing is legit...

paladin so terrible, paladin unplayable.

Fucking hell, the Maiev-quest actually blocks a quest-slot for you. I didn't get a third quest today because of it, and I really don't feel like clearing it since I only play arena...

Just got obliterated by a Rogue who had every card they needed to meet the Quest objective as fast as possible. Then it was Moroes and Violet Teacher just spawning 5/5 minions.

I can't say I'm enjoying this new expansion.

the thing to notice is, if your classes have no designated deck, just play elemental curvestone deck
LMAO this is kinda true especially for Paladin.

Elemental package pretty much comes feature complete from the neutral set. There are hardly any "bad" or even mediocre ones in the neutral set. Glad I rated them well there.

I think Priest will probably adopt some Elemental curve type deck if this quest thing doesn't pan out either.

That's true. Paladin's new cards don't do much, it's just that the buff card from msog works very well with neutral elementals.

The 6 cost buff is still legit good. Pirate warrior instant concedes. Can't get through that.

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I didn't even think about it but the 3 mana 1/4 discover taunt in pally would have such a high chance at a legendary. They have three taunt ones lol.

It is nice that any class can adopt the base Elemental package if they want.

That alone makes for 9 decks to potentially try out if you want. And more if you also try to include other packages like Jade, or Kazakus, or Quest, or whatever else is available now and in the future.

In the end, I was not very happy that Kazakus was available to just three classes because it was missing this dynamic.

Elementals are the new dragons. No coincidence they are itnroduced as a tribe while most of the dragon tribe was retired.

to be fair kaz kind of jacks design space, shaman gets every package imaginable the last thing i want is for it to have kaz

I'm pretty happy with the elementals tbh. Can finally play Paladin again. :D Got double Ragnaros Lightlord from this card lol. Shaman got the best elemental package though. Kinda anoying, since they also got the best Murloc cards. :\

Lose 8 games in a row with random decks I throw together and get tilted.

Make a Explore Un'goro Warrior deck for lulz and win 3 in a row. #Hearthstone

i just thought of a way to nerf rogue quest without nuke it forever, maybe adding "Can't reduce its cost" it will stil be powerfull but not prep + patches, bounce + patches, bounce + patches in turn 5 powerful

Strifecro just had the most disgusting game against pirate warrior with his time warp mage.

He needed an AI to give him exactly frost nova ice block and then tons of extra turn shenanigans to win. Pirate warrior must have been so pissed.

yeah gonna be a lot of sad pirate warriors out there with all these great taunts and consistent decks now that reno is gone. Reno really helped screw this game. I really didnt enjoy Reno mage at all but Tempo mage just felt lackluster (so felt forced into kaz + reno when I played mage unless I was in Wild)

Time Warp is so much fun. Taunt Warrior is tons of fun. Quest rogue is a blast.

Feeling like a brand new fun game

It's probably going to be unplayable once the majority of people go back to playing aggro again but quest ramp druid is a lot of fun. Love the 0 mana Tyrantus.
