Lol your post comes across as some right wing nut job "mainstream media...". Pc standards are different, it's always been this way.

I've been hearing on gaf for weeks now how the port is garbage, even in non pc gaming threads about the game.

How about you go into the PC performance thread, where people actually know what they're talking about?

But by all means, carry on repeating hyperbole from clueless idiots.

He's primarily a PC gamer, so he knows what the standards are. But when people leave MSAA at 8 samples and then complain about performance, they don't know what the hell they're doing.

Any tips for us playing it for the first time? Difficulty?
(I'm probably late to the party and GAF has given you dozens of better tips.)

I found the pacing kind of weird during the early stretches (after the opening, which is one of the best in any game). So if you get bored just stick with it.

Probably the only really annoying non-obvious thing is the Alfheim Portals. These are hidden bonus challenges, and a lot of fun, but they can be in some really obnoxious areas you wouldn't normally look. Lots of obnoxious backtracking, that sort of thing. If you're interested in them I would grab a guide to find their locations. Waiting until after you finish the game is fine too. Just don't waste your time backtracking through levels to find them, it would kill the pacing dead.

I don't even remember what difficulty I played on (I assume normal), but honestly the game isn't that hard on most difficulties.

This will probably be fairly light on hardware reqs, right? I'm running an i5 4460 and 1050ti. I'd love to get it at 60fps and better than 360 level of detail.

I'm going to buy this so hard that the people at Sega HQ are going to put down their cups of coffee and look around at eachother like "Did you... did you just feel that?"

Don't trust everything you hear on GAF, specially if it's tech-related. Also people speaking with little to no knowledge is the PC standard also.

Again, something as small as hiding msaa behind "antialiasing" and having it on by default can make a game be a "bad port" to GAF and to the internet in general.

Any info on gameplay tweaks, or is it a straight port? I would appreciate the QTE failures not counting as a death for example, but I'm not holding my breath.

What I'm saying is that narrative goes on here as well and that post is very silly. Acting like the "mainstream sites" are somehow involved in some conspiracy against pc gaming

Still 1 hour 16 minutes left for the official announcement of something we all know what it is.

Sega should finish that countdown and make it 100% official for once.

Nothing mentioned, but the PC port of MGR Revengeance added boss checkpoints that you could load from the main menu so you didn't have to play the whole level if you just wanted to fight the boss. It'd be a godsend for this game.
