Don't forget to use pinab berry. At this point I only need them for Mareep, Larvitar and future generations so I might go crazy. I expect to throw them and ultra balls at Pidgey.

I see some gyms have Red Gyrados in them. Did they introduce shinys?
During the Water event last month. Only for Magikarp / Gyarados for now.
From reports on reddit, looks like double candy is likely only new eggs. I'm going to try hatching my 10k egg after 4pm (which is like in 1 minute)

Interesting, I thought it was just going to be "more in 2k", not "everything in 2k".
Kind of ingenious on Niantic's part. People are going to be blowing through incubators so fast and then just keep on buying more.
How do people know if you can't get 5k eggs right now? Unless they were added before this event.
People on reddit are saying they got 5k eggs after event started.

I don't think the 2k egg only thing is real. Best wait more then just an hour before figuring that out.

Just hatched another Dratini - that's around 10 Dratini from my last 11 10km eggs (and around 16 or 17 total now since gen 2 started). Never had one pre-gen 2 and walked a Dratini around 500km to get my only Dragonite :/

It's more like 160k from a single lucky egg.
What's the math behind that? Do you not get 4x EXP with a Lucky Egg? You can get about 70 Pokémon in average, 70 x 4k would net you 280k no?
It's 500 exp per evolution. 500 x2 (lucky egg) x2 (event) = 2000. 70 x 2000 = 140,000.
Oh! Silly me I don't know why I was thinking each evo awarded 1k EXP lol. I get it now.
I think you can get the 10k Pokémon in the 2k eggs now, that's why people are reporting Pokestops giving almost exclusively 2k eggs. It makes sense, really, eggs will hatch faster and people will want more incubators, they didn't even discount incubators lol, sneaky Niantic.

Aerodactyl, Lapras, and others are in 2k eggs for this event. Doesn't look like Snorlax, Chansey, Dratini, or Larvitar have moved though :/

Oh, guess I'll wait for reports before committing to getting like $30 worth of incubators.

This event is excellent if you still play this game a lot. You get x2 EXP for everything, and double Candy from Egg hatches is a really good perk.
I kind of see where you're coming from, though, because increased chances for Pokémon spawns are more exciting.
I don't think I'll even get a single 10km egg during this event, because my Incubator stash is really small. I have enough free Pokecoins to get 4 extra, and I currently have two of them each with a remaining use.
I don't walk around or spend on this game like I used to during last year's events.
I guess I won't bother spending money on incubators for this event. No Larvitar, Dratini nor Snorlax in 2km eggs kind of makes this useless for me. I already got 2 Lapras, I need Dratini, Snorlax and Dratini candies, Chansey too. At least I'll save my money for something more interesting.

Just got 160k from my lucky egg spree which included some first time evolutions into new Pokédex entries. That was awesome. Not sure I'll be able to build another one up before the 20th, or get enough coins for that matter, but that was damn productive.
Edit: Also hatched two Tangela, a Tyrogue and a Growlithe. Didn't see anything decent in terms of random spawns but I did get a Metal coat from a random stop which was nice.

I was complaining about this the other day, I've hatched 4 and the most candy I've gotten was 9.
6, 7, 7, 9.
