COMICS!!! |OT| April 2017 - Now Featuring Superstar Artist Brett Booth - APRIL FOALS!

Should be the end of issue one where they list the Rothschild family tree. Unless Millie was secretly an immortal demon... lololol.

I managed to track it down, stuck my thoughts in my post above. Probs a typo but there is an avenue there that makes you think. Milton was angry...

No internet last night so I decided to read lewd comics unfit for society: Sunstone volume 4, pretty good, some of the emotional stuff can get intense and the ending ten or so pages made me want to read vol 5.

Indeed. The end of that hurt.

Mmm, Godshaper looks good, expected more thoughts in the thread this week on it. I'll probably share some thoughts tonight or tomorrow on the trade, depending when I get through it. Six Gun Gorilla is in with the rest of my order too, have had it on the list since like 2014 lol I get there eventually. I remember folks in here being really excited by it back then.

This BMM thing. Most likely a typo, seems too bare faced to be anything else but I dunno. Makes me start to think about
"We Know"....Maybe Milton was outraged by more than he let on. Maybe twins is the giveaway.

Seen some very positve impressions of it on the Facebooks.

Love it, through the color of her belt and pouches irks me a bit. I might be getting her early July-ish.

I picked a good time to get on board with his stuff!

I read #1 of The Spire. I am an utter sucker for this kind of fantasy. It reminds me in equal parts of Mieville's Bas Lag and Pratchett's Discworld. Of all things, the meeting between the script and the lettering really is the thing that jumps out to me, it was really effective at denoting changes in tone, things being muttered under breath, and added to the character of the people and the general feel of the world that Spurrier and Stokely are aiming for. Sha is a cool lead character if a little obviously *chosen one* about her. The titular Spire and it's weird people, cultures and politics are enticing and Stokely just kills it. A great start. I could sit and pick at the last page and that wall for awhile..

I liked Black Panther & the Crew #1. Normally I don't like dense reads, but the material here really intrigued me and it wasn't as dense as Black Panther surprisingly, though it is still narrative driven in a way that makes it not for everyone. I love how the writers are adding onto Marvel's black history by
creating a silver age all black superhero team that existed during the Civil Rights Movement as a sort of Invaders version of the Crew. So far it's just Misty and Storm and the story gives a completely believable reason to connect them and this case.
I like the issues Sam Wilson and Nighthawk tackle, but this book tackles the issues in a way where the writers' backgrounds just ooze through the game. It's also set up in a way where it could only get one volume and tell a complete story. The art is really good and Misty is written extremely well.

Thanks for this. I was interested in this book and I think you've convinced me to pull the trigger. I feel in love with Misty when she was in Bunn's Defenders.

Egads. I don't often go for this sort of thing, but I love this. What's the price point?

Yeah, I never burn through Spurrier. His writing is just too rich. And that lettering thing you mentioned reminds me of the lettering in Six Gun Gorilla. So good.

I'm not a squirrel girl fan but holy shit I want that, that's absolutely gorgeous.

She probably won't be uncommon. Kotobukiya usually makes large production runs. She comes out next month in Japan, then in the US the month after. Of course I'm importing her because I need her immediately.

$74.99. If you don't mind importing from Japan, AmiAmi probably still has her for a bit cheaper price (plus you will probably get her a bit earlier too with even some of the cheaper shipping).

Oh thank God. I thought you got her already. I was like THAT SON OF A BITCH.

Lol! You be getting her before me.XD Not that I mind waiting for a bit.

Send it back. It's trash now without Sunstone. What a complete fucking disgrace.

Younger/all age schewed Star Wars comics at IDW? Sure. Not sure why Marvel are always so hesitant to pick up and invest in books for younger readers but IDW's gain. I'd buy this for my kid.

Haha yea, I've only read 3 issues this evening, I'll probably settle for half the book tonight, half tomorrow. There's so much to pick through on each page, I feel like I'd miss something if I rushed. Just as much Stokely's end too. I've remain vague since you're sold anyway but there's some really creative splash pages and ideas he used for parts of the story that really enhance the experience.

Well Marvel is the only major brand without an accompanying line targeted at younger and middle aged gGirls.

Yeah, there should be Star Wars comics for children, even stuff for kids preschool aged. Because they LOVE Star Wars and their parents would buy it for them.

So Spider Men 2 is coming and separate from Generations?

But how will this work? Miles is now part of the main universe unless MM fucked up.

I mostly meant for merchandise, they have nothing like superhero girls or forces to destiny
Disney seems to be using Marvel as their young boys targeted merch, while the princesses are targeted at young girls. I think that's a waste though and hopefully it changes when Captain Marvel hits.

I've just read Gillen's run on Iron Man which I liked much more than I thought. And since most of the time we see armors, Greg Land isn't so bad when he's drawing.

I really enjoyed how the book took Iron Man out of the human super tech zone and went to space and magical realms. It did raise a question at the end though: Where the fuck is Arno right now?

This argument doesn't hold wait when DC and Lucasfilm are trying hard to get girls into genre content.

I do wonder how much of it has too do with Marvel not having access to their more popular femalemcharcaters and others like Jessica Jones might be unsuitable.

Just seems weird because that Avengers Acadmey mobile game has the perfect arts the for a series targeted at girls.

Even then they still have popular females and the ability to create more for that audience like Moon Girl.

True off the top of my head right now they could probably make a decent line with

Black Widow
Scarlet Witch
White Tiger
Gamora
Mantis
Hellcat
Moon girl
Ms.Marvel
Captain Marvel
Medesua
Crystal
Wasp
Sif
Quake
Maria Hill
Dagger
Squirrel Girl

They all seem fine except for Black Widow. You can't really market her to little girls without severely compromising the essence of the character (even though I would totally expect Marvel to if it would make them a buck).
