Hmm just started it up the first time and got greeted with a WRX STI Type S 14, a R8 LMS and a Mustang Gr. 4. Nice.

Menues look slick.

Bleh, going to be away at the racing times -_-.

Are people even allowed to talk about this. On the beta agreement it says your not to discuss the beta and everyone's in here sharing gifs and screenshots lol

They don't appear to be concerned about it - GTS vids are near the top of Live From Playstation. They kept share functionality on for a reason.

- 4K HDR looks stunning on the Pro

- Even the 2D tree sprites look fine most of the time, I can see why they chose to go that route instead of 3D models

- Racing feels like racing. Miss the braking point by 10-20 meters? Good luck staying on track mate (I love this, as it forces you to actually learn the track layouts)

- I made it into just one race yesterday evening (Brands Hatch) and finished 2nd. I was surprised how well everyone was trying to drive, and how well the game reacted to different circumstances (e.g. someone was trying to overtake me in the 3rd or 4th corner and hit the brake way too late, so instead of crashing me his car was turned into a ghost and I was able to continue normally)

- I was one of the skeptical guys when I started to see first beta footage, but this game turned me around in half an hour

That sounds like a new feature for the series?

Any G29 or gimx users in here??

Im running G27/GIMX but my h-pattern doesnt work(works for other games like Dirt Rally & Project Cars). I noticed a comment in here about a T500 user running their h pattern with no issue so wondering if this is a GIMX issue or perhaps it's a G29 issue since that is the hardware we are emulating.

Got a g29 and the shifter doesn't show up, and my clutch doesn't work or show up either. Manual gears using paddles only.

The oval track is a lot of fun. The swaying of the viewpoint effect when you get hit by the g-forces when you don't get the second to last corner right and have to countersteer is really really awesome.

Yeah, this is what I meant by ropey, it was really bad I would've took a screenshot if I thought we were allowed.

The aliasing is quite apparent in replays, but I can't see anything that looks remotely ropey when driving, arguably the best looking racing game yet, at least on my HDR TV on the PS Pro.

Managed to get my Gr.4 time down to a 1:38, if I can get round Paddock hill bend properly, I am sure I can get a decent lap down!!!

Codes are definitely not tag specific.

I use the H shifter with my T500 and it plugs directly into the PS4 not the T500. Works fine as long as the car has a H shift, so works with Lancer but not GT-R Nismo

Clutch isn't bad, only missed a couple of gear changes but yes requires nearly full travel. Would like to be able to manually set the bite point.
Wow thanks,
I wouldn't even have tried that, half a year ago or so, I think there was no PS4 game listed on the Thrustmaster compatibility site that was filed under "plug TH8A via USB directly into the PS4". Good on Sony and PD that they've done something in that matter.

Ahhh, I'm on a standard PS4 and 1080p set.

Nothing wrong with a 1:38....

I feel there aren't a lot of people with "vanilla" PS4s posting in here. Two shots I just took on mine outside a replay and honestly, the aliasing feels worse in motion.

glad i got into the beta to see the game in action.

im not a big fan. maybe because if this system theyre trying out or something. online races do not look good to me. i have a beast of a connection and it says i have 112ms latency? all the cars were dacing on the track. cant think of another word for it. it looked like every car was going left-right every other second with some frames lost in between like a semi teleport. i was trying to avoid crashing but, surprise, there was no car there the next second so i braked for nothing or swerve for nothing or so on so on.

love the menu, the graphics look alright, in action its nothing ground breaking, the replays are something else though.

i think its the "sport" part which is the biggest downside for me. obviously its not open world, its not dirt or nfs but i feel like its too rigorous. too many rules, not enough fun. again, my opinion. i can see why this game is going to be popular though.

nobody was fairplay, not even the first guy. crashing into one another right from the start. driving side by side in brands on the long straight you could see how everyone was trying to drive the other drivers off the road.

not for me.

I kept getting a connection error yesterday. The two qualifications I got to race were a blast but I couldn't get back in after those.

Could it be related to not having PS+?

My ping is 92, and cars were warping all over the place, way worse than yesterday, had a half decent race on Brans with the GR.4's, finished 4th after I chucked 2nd away on the last lap at my nemesis, Paddock Hill Bend.

As for driving quality, I'd imagine that most people arent bother about thier SR during the beta, hopefully the full game will be better, especially after some weeks of racing, as the SR's and matchmaking should settle down, and you should get matched with good drivers, and not bell ends.

I only got in a single race yesterday, after sitting in the queue for all apart from the 18:00. The timer would run out and I would get a network error.

The race I did get though, seemed like I did better just holding R2 and letting the game brake for me. Everyone else seemed to be doing this for better results, which if the case is a shame. I need to try a race with it turned off completely.

It play well though, I like it, though not that I was deducted time when someone else hit me. Didn't seem avoidable on my part. It's possible that could be used maliciously.

- I find it baffling that gamepad users can not manually switch gears when they are in the "automatic transmission" mode. I found that automatic mode can often stick to a higher gear when revs are really low in some bad situations [driving up hill].

- Lack of radar [heliocorsa] function annoys me. At least spotting [car left, car right] would be helpful since sounds of opposing cars can be misleading.

- Game makes me or other players into ghosts too often. I just spent quarter of the Brands Hatch driving inside one other player...

Willow Springs was just added to EU server list.

There is a radar, press left/right until the course map is onscreen then press up/down to switch between map and radar.

Another thing, I don't like that I get negative points because other players are hitting me. Looks like I will have to grind a bit, leave everyone in front of me and then drive alone to get few DR points [one per each sector it looks like].

Someone please keep me in mind if I ever have a chance to d/l this with a code or whatever means is possible. I won't say any silly one liners or that I really want to play it, as a lot of us want to play it. So, eh yeah. :)

I switched to manual gears for this reason...Semi auto would be .....welcome...
