So is this still supposed to be in the same universe as the Snyder movies? Bats vs Supes and all that?

It definitely looks like they put a bit of money into it.

It also looks way too drab and boring for my tastes. Don't know the comics but man. Like Game of Thrones but without anything really drawing my attention.

I don't think I'll end up watching this.

If they have any sense, they'll take a page from Superman TAS and make Brainiac an essential part of Kryptonian defense and science. I always really him as a betrayer, and not just an archivist.

This is gonna suck.

Ok, this looks awesome.

Completely forgot this was happening. Even as a Superman fan, I never cared that much about Krypton and its history but this teaser looks alright. Some nice visuals. And bonus points for bottled cities.

After Smallville and Supergirl, this is now the third Superman related show that doesn't actually deal with Superman himself. Poor guy.

Lol. Never have two posts so perfectly encapsulated NeoGAF. XD

I'm not sure this show was necessary, but ok. Maybe they're going to do some interesting character stuff, and not just a thousand winks and nods and foreshadowing of Krypton's impending doom. Also, why don't we get more D.C. shows that aren't tied to Supes or Bats? Where's my Spectre show? Or The Question? Or Booster Gold?

This will be Superman's Gotham.

That is basically the point of it.

Well, or just allowing the creators to put out what is essentially an original sci-fi concept they've been sitting on, but couldn't get the financial backing without draping it in a more familiar brand.

I bet you despite the despite the 'become a place that could make the world's greatest superhero' line, there'll be some heavy emphasis of doing the dirty deeds that are 'necessary' to save the world.

I just hope it doesn't turn out like Flash Gordon did. That job SyFy did with it was trash. I know superman is bigger franchise then Flash, but lets see.

Sure looks like they spent a lot of money on production and very little on actors. I suppose that smart, because those beautiful props, costumes and CG sets aren't going to argue with showrunners about anything the way a self-respecting actor keen to find more work after this show wraps up.

And why the hell is Kal-El's grandfather talking to him specifically? Is the plan to retcon the fall of Krypton and salvation of Superman from a desperate, last ditch effort to preserve the species like the story of Moses it obviously cribs from into some protracted, operatic examination of characters and events that will only muddy the waters and further distract from the core themes baked into the character this franchise is actually about?

Because that sounds like classic Goyer.

Exec at DC/WB: Everyone loves Superman right? What if we made a show about Superman's......grandfather.

Other exec: BRILLIANT!

There are currently 4 interconnected DC shows on the air right now, only one of which references Superman, they've retroactively connected a 5th, and a 6th is about to air this fall.

What are you talking about?
