It doesn't matter how much the game cost to make to me. As a consumer I care about the perceived value of the product, something which this game doesn't provide whatsoever at $50.

Everyone's different though, maybe you think it's good value for $50. You don't have to agree that it's a ripoff at $50 but I don't have to agree it's good value either.

Looking to bolster my physical games for Switch.

Now the patch is out, do you think this is worth grabbing? Toss up between this and 1,2 Switch.

Mainly looking for Single player tbh.

I dont have 1-2 Switch, but if youre looking for single player.... I dont think that would be the wise choice then.

On the other hand, I do have Bomberman R and I think is funnier with people also, so... maybe wait?

But if you really want one, ill go with Bomberman.

I don't think 1-2-Switch even has single player. Pretty sure it's 2 player across the board.

Got farther in the story mode and its actually just world 1 that has absurdly difficult to parse terrain.

I also
got more used to using the bad dpad on the joycons, but its better with the pro controller obviously.

Still hard to justify spending time on this game when co op is local only, unlocks so expensive, only got one friend to buy it, and have isaac and the puyp puyo tetris demo sitting there when i need a quick game to play

Hmmm, thanks. Might see how Snake Pass goes before committing to Bomberman R then. I've only been spurred by the (only) physical version I saw today.

Wow its so easy getting money in this game playing League Mode, remember when people were so worried about that. Are there only like 20 people online? Is it all gaffers? Anybody Friday 13? The one thing that drives me crazy is a player getting a glove at the beginning then spam trapping you

I stink and I learned the hard way not to play League Battle. I lost my small amount of BP in one shot the other day. I stick to Free Battle.

We should get some game nights or something going. I'd love to play a good 8-player game. My friend code is 4735-7738-5485, if anyone wants to add me.

Does anybody know if Golem Bomber's bombs do anything special without a Power Glove powerup? In Story Mode their whole deal was that they can crush people to death, but as a playable character, you don't start with the ability to throw. Am I doing something wrong?

Actually you can't find it at all in France. It's sold out everywhere (if anyone knows a place where it's available, please tell me as my nephew's birthday in this weekend).

Has anyone actually been crushed by them in the single player? I have to say it's never effected me in the few times I've fought golem :eek:

Why can't I figure out how to play online with a second person locally? I've done it multiple times with my husband before but tonight we were trying and it wouldn't let him join in for some reason so we had to play with those insane computers -_-

Does not work in League mode.

Be sure the second controller is paired, then go to Free Battle, and start the room. When the character select comes up, have your husband (or whoever is 2p) press A.

That should work.

Just got this game and literally every single online game has had massive lag.

How the fuck is this acceptable in any way?

I'm selling this shit on ebay. Unreal.

I bought this when the Switch launched, but I am pretty unhappy with the online. It's playable, but the online lag just detracts from it. This was a bigtime overpay and I should have rented it. The bosses were pretty cool though.

Is bombing yourself right away to then become an angel and then bomb another player to essentially take his position on the board a legitimate strategy or super cheap?

Because I've now seen a couple players do it, and after they do it they just seem to hide on the board as much as possible. Seems whack.

Legitimate, but poor sportsmanship imo. I don't like doing it, but it's a gameplay mechanic. I've played Bomberman since the NES, I see it as an added challenge to the multiplayer.

Man, that's good to hear.

I bought the game today to do my part for retail Bomberman and because i have some tax return money left over to fill the two weeks until Mario Kart 8, and i was definitely having trouble sorting out the terrain levels in the first world. Mobile camera, even just about 30 degrees of movement, would help a lot.

Otherwise it's just as i remember, the phrenetic pacing of Bomberman '93. A shame they didn't take more hints from Bomberman 64, however.

I don't know if it happens at all in single player, but in multiplayer if you throw one of golem's special bombs it'll kill anyone it lands on

I didn't notice anything weird on Veteran.

That said, stage 3-5 forced me down to Beginner. Too many of those little bastards and they kept spawning. They move insultingly slow in Beginner, but that's the only way to work around them (though the spike bomb breaking through barriers also helps).

so from what I can see that patch didn't add a new stage, it added FOUR!

  • White Cross (new ice level)
  • Power Zone (no blocks, start with full power)
  • Lagoon (sea themed)
  • Speed Zone (guessing you all have super speed)

Liking the nod to super bomberman 1 with the power zone and speed zone, but I'll have to play them to see how good they turned out :p

I noticed from a glance at the battle menu they've added the option to select the COM player's level.

HOLY HECK! We can choose our story mode camera in settings now :D

Not sure what other improvements there are.

Oh... and you have to unlock the new stages with in-game currency ¬.¬

Well, I'd say with the lag patch and now being able to move the story camera around with the L and R buttons (I just leave it facing the front) it's considerably more playable now in single player than it once was :3 Forward-facing camera is so much clearer to me than the left-angle one they originally had.

Looking forward to the new stages (once I grind enough to unlock them, of course :p )

Not gonna lie, I'd be really happy if in a future patch they took out the useless 'special' multiplayer stages and just gave all the stages decent backgrounds instead :p

edit: the backgrounds in single player are great, I don't know why they didn't reuse them for the multiplayer stuff instead of the weird static (and often unrelated) images they have instead.

Yeah, it would be great to get a big room going. Just started up a room. Room number is 732554 if anyone wants to play! I'll sit here and wait a bit to see if anyone bites.

Edit: Went to add Seik and forgot it kicks you out of a room. Only had one person join in (good game Will), but I'll be up for a little while yet, so if anyone wants to play start a room or let me know if you're up for it and I'll start one.

Just bought the sale after the good news and I like their design more than most of the other Bombermen.

Yes, they unlock after you finish Story Mode. They cost 5K gems each so best of luck getting them all.

My wife got this as a birthday gift last week and I honestly haven't been interested in playing the game since I knew it was 30fps, but after hearing what was included in the patch, I can't wait to play some Bomberman later tonight with her.
