You're wrong, it's only been about 500-600 years since the earth was considered to be "round"

Greeks did astronomy and knew the Earth was round as a result. It's well before over 2000 years old, and likely more but we don't have records going back much further.

Plus every airline pilot and flight crew on earth, cargo ship captains, amateur astronomers, satellite TV installers, every military commander, every amateur sailor... it's a fairly substantial part of the earth's population who'd have to be successfully keeping this secret. No cabal of scientists could come close, too many people have to rely on stuff that's in orbit and calculating the curvature of the earth as part of their everyday jobs.

I am not being sarcastic or any of that non sense. I am being real with my observations and I am a firm believer that the Earth is flat. For me to believe otherwise I would have to go out in space and see it for myself with my own eyes.

Do you believe you have a brain or would you need to see it by cracking your own skull?

Do you observe the path of stars? How can the pattern of movement across the sky be explained? How can you explain the slightly shifting patterns of movement if not for the precession (wobble of the earth)?

If you're a firm believer the earth is flat, wouldn't you also need to go into space and see it with your own eyes to confirm? How deep is the earth? Does it go down infinitely?

Yes, scientists are wrong from time to time. But the central tenant of science is to build off of knowledge and reshape theories as facts come along. It's always the best foot forward given the information at hand. In this case, all the facts and data point to the earth being an imperfect sphere. This can easily be concluded by making observations from Earth, just as our ancient ancestors did all around the world.

Coast to Coast AM has had some excellent segments that cover topics such as flat earth theory, hollow earth theory, etc. I've found the hollow earth pieces to be exceptional.

Also, for those who are interested, they just had a great segment on the hollow moon theory. Summary below:

The guy I'm seeing brought this up to me a while back, and for the first two days I was shocked, pissed, confused, and sad that someone you care about so much could believe something so stupid.

But if I'm being honest, its not a big deal to me anymore. He doesn't bring it up, and anytime I remember he thinks the Earth is flat I just laugh at him in my head because I know he's wrong and I'm right and its funny.
