Kingdom Hearts HD I.5+II.5 ReMIX |OT| Kingdom Hearts Final Port

Sometimes I really want to punch Donald Duck in the face in KH1.

He's most likely the reason Riku went with Maleficent when Riku and Sora reunited in Traverse Town.

Sora: "You're coming with us! We have an awesome ship-"

Donald: "No! He can't come!"

Sora: "Come on, he's my friend."

Donald: "I don't care!"

I mean, hostile for no fucking reason...

I just want to take a moment to tell all of you how much I love this series.

I love Playing all KH's again and again but this collection feels so good it even brings me back to my early teens when I discovered it. I remember being bullied for having my books and other stuff full "Mickey Mouse stuff" never gave a shit.

It amazes me how this series has mainrained quality over so long. Even what I consider the worst games in the franchise are really fun adventures filled with lovable characters, great challenges, creative gameplay and amazing music together with a batshit crazy story.

My little 8 year old brother just fell in love with the games and started KH1 in beginner mode. I love to be able o share this pieces of gaming with him.
Anything to take him away from playing Minecraft only

Well to be fair the first thing Donald basically does is lie to Sora to get him to go with them.

Sora: "I wonder if I could find Riku and Kairi..."
Donald: "Of course."
Goofy: [whispering] "Are you sure?"
Donald: [whispering] "Who knows? But we need him to come with us to help us find the king."

Is this port any good? Can I sell both of my PS3 ports and get this one? Or does it still have weird issues?

There are some issues, but these versions are much better than the PS3 versions.

KHII is such a neat game. The resolution, frame rate, FM additions, and perfected music make it a treat to play.

I managed to plow through Data Marluxia, Luxord, Demyx, and Vexen. Got dangerously close to beating Roxas but slipped up and didn't recover. I'm too afraid to try anyone else tonight but we'll get there soon. Going to try and beat all the Data members before I take on Lingering Will and move on to BBS.

Yeah. BBS feels like such a downgrade after playing KH2 for so long. I mean it was on the PSP so I can't judge too harshly but still. Also Terra is just the worst. Do we have to save his ass in Kingdom Hearts 3? Can't we just resurrect Aqua and Ven and leave it at that?

I doubt Terra is someone we'll have to actively save in the same way that the gang has to
go to Realm of Darkness and save Aqua and then wake up Ven. I imagine he's more the kind of character who'll play into destroying Xehanort from the inside out near the end rather than being a big objective from the start of the game. Fighting against Xehanort's control during the epic finale or something and that helping in defeating him, which will also free Terra from Xehanort's control.

That said, Terra was surprisingly decent in Fragmentary Passage. He might've learned a thing or two during his long years of possession.

Probably just be a side effect of
defeating Ansem and Xemnas again.

This was the exact scene that I had JUST watched that made me type that! I mean what the heck Donald?! Got really mad at him.

It's why I always switch him out for the guest character whenever I enter a new world.

Yeah I remember that too. That duck still bugs me though.

But he gets a lot better in Kingdom Hearts 2 for sure.

If Terra isn't
the Guardian behind Ansem Soul of Darkness
then what even is the point.

Dream Drop Distance showed the Guardian reach out to Riku, who then proceeded to quote Terra. And 0.2 had Terra grab Terranort the same way the Guardian would have. And the fight between Aqua and Terranort had Terra help her out against the Guardian.

If one of the
Thirteen Darknesses
doesn't
die by being choked out by the Guardian
then I'll be severely disappointed.

ReCoM: The fight against Axel is a real bitch on Proud. I breezed through pretty much everything so far but it's messing me up that his sleights are close to undodgable. Or are undodgeable, in the case of Firewall.
His teleports keep interrupting my sleights, too. And with his Quick Recovery skill and a lot of 0s I can barely get any attacks in. Annoying.

That reminds me, I did everything possible in KH and KH2 HD and they were some of the only games where I actually enjoyed it, however I never did any of the Gummi Ship missions as they solely irritate me. Do any of you guys like them or do all of those too?

Also did anyone manage to beat
No Heart
in BBS on Critical? I came so damn close a good few times on the PS3 version a while back but in the last knockings he just batters me.

Interesting. Never picked up on any of those references, but that would be a neat retcon.

Went back to 0.2 after spending so much time with 2 lately. It's a step in the right direction given BBS and 3D but it's definitely a bit clunkier than 2.

KH 2 world that never was boss spoiler:

What level should I be to face Roxas? I'm at around 44 and he usually kills me by the time I've got him to two bars left. (doesn't help that trying to use potions has resulted in me being killed before I can use it :()

So yeah, what level should I be/any tips you can provide outside of guarding as soon as the battle starts (I learnt that the hard way)

What difficulty are you on?

On human bosses you only need one thing ! : Lethal Frame
You'll crush them.

Currently playing Re:CoM for the first time. I'm enjoying the game way more than I expected to. I know I'm a sucker for card games but I quite like the battle system.

I can see how it could become a chore in the long run though, especially when it comes to level design.

I beat Him at 60 on critical, best advice is level up to 50 at least on the mode you are known and he will be a breeze.

Hmm you should be able to beat him at that level.

I'd advise levelling up all your drive forms as far they'll go if you haven't already. The abilities they give are very useful.

Travel around the worlds, collect treasure chests, etc. you haven't got yet.

You'll find it a lot easier.

reflect is your best friend here. He telegraphs his attacks well in advance. once you're done reflecting go in on him then repeat. His DM is easy to dodge just roll around in a circle.

Limit form, my friend.

Use its overpoweredness.

The level design and layout of rooms is the worst part about it, but honestly I really enjoyed the combat style and found it gives players a good few options when it comes to differing playstyles. I wouldn't mind a spin-off down the line with similar gameplay as long as I don't have to deal with the awfulness of those levels.

I think the worst part is. If he hits you, you might die before you can potion. Same if you get hit by the balls he shoots at you when he is in the middle of the arena.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try again tomorrow and i will beat him.

Do you have Second Chance, Once More, etc.?

You shouldn't be dying so quickly.

I used to love the Cavern of Remembrance theme but now that I've probably died close to a hundred times, it is wearing thin. Luckily I managed to best Xaldin, Vexen, Zexion, Axel, Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Roxas. Only five left to go. Then I can finally move on and start my Birth By Sleep playthrough.

I'm doing a far better job collecting and synthesizing than last time in KH1! Maybe it's because I know what I'm doing now.

I'm slowly dreading the coming of Chain of Memories though. I SO want to skip that one and go straight to 358/2 Days and KH2. But I never finished Chain of Memories before so I am obligated to beat that one first.

Argh....why did Square Enix approve of this card battle system thing??? Even though the GBA had limitations the PS2 sure as heck didn't!

Most people say not to do this

It can go either way, really. The recommended order according to Square/Nomura is CoM -> 358/2 Days -> KHII, but naturally, the game was made after II, so it'd spoil a thing or two from that, hence some people sticking to release order.

I'm of the opinion that watching it before II makes for a more consistent story flow since you'll know every relevant character's circumstances going into it instead of being expected to care about stuff you barely have any context to (
Axel's betrayal of the Org. and why he did it, pretty much everything about Roxas
)

It's a much more palatable route for newcomers to take, IMO. But either way works at the end of the day, and anyone that asserts that either method is the only way to go should probably be ignored.

I think I'm nearing the endgame of KH2.

Doing the second visits to all the plants, only got like 2 left. Beat 3 of the Absent Silhouettes and only did the first room of the cave of remembrance. I know there's another world and the final form to unlock.

Any tips for running this endgame? I'm gonna start to tackle the cave soon. First room was tough but doable say 10 hours ago. Should go easier now.

Level up your drive forms before you even think about tackling the rest of Cavern of Remembrance.

Only got Seph and Mystery Man to do before I'm done with KH1. Ugh, time to grind and....synthesize. Fuck these new heartless. Chimera was cool though.

I really like BBS and DDD but I can't help but imagine if they were console games and had more time in the oven to balance their mechanics.

That scene in DDD was such a
nice, non-verbal thing that it shocked me when it happened 'cause it was so good and subtle.

I don't think they have but it rarely happens to be honest. I've been saving nonstop in KH1 and I've yet to have any issues with save crashing. Though to be safe I always have two copies of the same save in the game.

The save crashing bug is only KH2, it's not present in the other games.
