Bayonetta PC port gets updated... with a Vanquish teaser

How someone designs a mod that let's weapon upgrades carry over instead of disappearing when dropped. Or even better, give us a weapon wheel with all the weapons you collected!
A weapon wheel would do wonders for this game! God if there would ever be a mod for this game please be this!

After Vanquish, gimme Virtua Fighter 5 and Resonance of Fate.

PLEASE SEGA, I STILL LOVE YOU, I SAID BAD THINGS ABOUT YOU BUT I STILL LOVE YOU.

(Anarchy Reigns too, thanks)

Resonance of Fate's stylish acrobatics in 60 frames would be a dream. Sega just needs to port it all.

Are they bringing these to PS4/XBOX One?

The PC port of Valkyria Chronicles got a nice budget release on PS4 several months after the Steam version dropped. There's no reason why Bayonetta and/or Vanquish shouldn't follow with PS4 and Xbox One versions, but I guess time will tell. It would be cool considering more people would get to play these great games, but let them release a PC version first to test the waters.

This and a mod that lets you use the suit with the limits removed like in the final bossfight would be wonderful.

Platinum will surely do it if they get payed for it, but that would be SEGA Japan/Americas decision and have nothing to do with Sega Europe.

You'd think so, but Valkyra PC did not have anything to do with Valkyria PS4. That one happened because Sega Japan wanted to bundle the Valkyria Revolution demo with something (a game that started development just before Valkyria PC and is therefore also not a response to it).

Playing Doom with the wheel made me realize how much I missed having all weapons on hand.

I thought of that as well but wouldn't it make the game too easy?

Thanks. I did not know that. I based my assumption off Digital Foundy VC face-off (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2016-valkyria-chronicles-face-off) and I thought it would be easier to port games to PS4/X1 from PC releases than PS3/360 originals due to architecture similarities, but that was always my guess (uneducated it seems).

this is a thread for PC games, sir. please and thank you.

Oh but excuse my rudeness kind sir.

Bayonetta's already playable as backward compatible title on XB1

Thank you!! I have the disc version of Bayonetta from the 360 days, I'll try it on Xbox One.

Well it's what every sane person would guess :p
I'm actually not sure if they leveraged the PC port for the PS4 version or if it's an entirely independent thing, but at the very least the decision to make it was not made after looking at VC PCs success.

Let's hope MadWorld doesn't get forgotten (following Vanquish) if they decide to go the Anarchy Reigns route. MadWorld was Jack Cayman's origin story and several character inclusions (and many references in AR) would be completely lost without it.

Also hope they're considering other SEGA titles too, like Resonance of Fate, Shenmue, and Shenmue II. Those three have a very high probability of being successful.

Madworld was kinda boring after a while though. Soundtrack is still good though.

Definitely up for the others. Actually haven't played RoF in the hopes an even better PC port arrives.

Mad World, Shenmue, Shenmue 2, Resonance of Fate, Catherine, and a bunch of Yakuza games. I think these all make sense for cheap but well done late ass ports. Certainly shouldn't be super hard. Okay maybe they lost the Shenmue source code. :p

Panzer Dragoon Saga when?

Even though I'm a bigger fan of Bayo than Vanquish, a PC port of Vanquish is more exciting to me than the Bayo port. I think Vanquish has a whole lot more to gain from being on PC. It's super cinematic looking and with tonnes of pretty effects; I think it'll look amazing. I want to know what all those screen filling explosions look like without frame drops.

The only reason my XB1 is still hooked up is to play Catherine. Would love a port of that ha.

For Shenmue I think they need to go bigger than a simple cheap port. If you release them as is you run the risk of alienating a lot of potential new fans.

I think they need to at least add the QoL improvements from the second game to the first one, tweak the controls to be usable with twin sticks, and redub it, or at least offer dual audio (and probably retranslate it).

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
Platinum continues to be my favorite if this ever goes on.

SIXTY EFF PEE ES VANQUISH IS FINALLY COMING TRUEEEE

I think it's more simple than that.

Games like Bayonetta and Vanquish can now survive on PC -- at least, much better compared to seven/eight years ago. Metal Gear Rising showed that there is a massive interest in their software.

In any case, PlatinumGames' best software were always the SEGA titles. So much creativity and bound only by a budget.

I take Panzer Dragoon Orta port please. Really love to play it again, it was not exactly the best panzer game but it's still pretty good, nothing like it out there.

Basically praying that Vanquish's game logic/physics aren't tied to 30fps. That game had the tightest, smoothest 30fps combat ever, but I worry that some of the clever things they did to pull that off may have hampered the game's ability to handle an unlocked framerate.

I agree. Hopefully it'll be like Capcom's efforts with RE 4 Ultimate HD Edition where only a handful of alpha effects (and the damn sniper reload animation) are tied to 30 fps.

I just played Vanquish for the first time last month on PS3, and despite the 30fps, it still felt like a really smooth experience. Can't imagine what it would feel like in 60fps on PC.

Just got a press release regarding a new Bayonetta Dev Diary, ending with this sentence:

"Sega will announce more news regarding planned PC ports shortly."

This game was originally released just one year after the Bayonetta. But based on the GIFs and footage that i saw it looks so much better to me. I guess that's the price of targeting 60fps for Bayonetta vs 30fps for Vanquish.

Can't wait to play this game in 1440p and 60fps!

The best Platinum game in my eyes. Really looking forward to this. I'm looking forward to the mod that lets you smoke through the entire game.

Is there any chance any of the Atlus stuff comes over or is that still a pipe dream?

You would think Persona 5 would make bank considering the hype and good reviews.

Vanquish was also subHD. A PC port would be revelatory.

I reviewed the game giving it the highest score in Italy [5/5 stars].
And I've already beat it twice, both on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I will be glad to beat it once more, on PC, and put an insane amount of hours in Challenge Mode

Even if they don't change any of the assets, just breaking this out of the 720p jail of the 7th gen is more than worth the effort.

Mayhem like this needs all the resolution it can get.

My thoughts exactly, environmentally it has so much scale and action going on around you that I would welcome even a 30fps cap if I get to see it in higher resolution with no screen tearing.

Not interested playing Sega's 7th gen titles, including VF5. Too bloated when compared to VF3.

They should have been on PC day one really, but better late than never.

Glad the console exclusive fad is weaker compared to the past.

Definitely resonance. Somehow I never thought of Catherine but is welcome that as well.

I don't think this was even 720p. 540p is more like it.

They need to patch the progression system if it comes to PC, that shit was sack and why I quit the game.

It straight up R-Types you if you restart a level.
