How's battery life on the normal S8? I have the Samsung S6 but I'm sick of having to set Wifi, GPS and auto rotate off and battery saver on. And brightness to 20%. And still have low battery when I come home from a long day...
And would you guys recommend this over the Pixel? They're about the same price in my region.

battery life for me seems to last only a day and a half, at most. and hell yes i'd recommend the s8 over the pixel.

There are drop test videos of them on youtube for iphones. They did their own for the S7 but thats their video. I'd get their screen protector with the bumper as that would ensure it will go on easy with the bumper. People seem to have odd screen protector issues with the S7 edge and putting a case on the phone.

i just received a DQA update from Samsung. Knocking on wood, but i am not getting that pop up error nor have i before.
This camera is blowing me away. My last three phones have been the Galaxy S3 (was a great phone camera at the time), LG G3 (was great in some ways at the time and bad in low light), and Droid Turbo (was 20MP but was very disappointing overall). So I'm not going to say it's the best phone camera ever or whatever, since I just have no way of knowing that, but to me, somebody who has never actually been blown away by phone cameras, I'm so impressed.
I mean, this is a picture I would have been super happy with even on my DSLR or my highish-end point and shoot.

Is there a way to automatically change your phone's settings based on your location? I believe my S6 had a widget I used for that, but I don't see anything similar on the 8 yet.
I was one of the lucky ones who got the phone 2 days early. So I assume there was much less traffic when filling out my form. Plus I have the bundle deal, and that comes with 2 days shipping. Not sure if the free promotion ships the same way.

UPDATE:
Got this yesterday and installed it. Don't waste your money. The top and bottom of the protector have borders that are painted black and don't line up with the screen so you're either cutting off part of the bottom screen or interfering with the front facing camera. There's a strip of adhesive along the sides where it curves and you can visibly see it when the screen is on. One good thing about it though, I tried it with 3 different cases and it didn't interfere with them.

YouTube was looking kinda choppy on my s8 this morning but seems fine now. GTA Vice City was running maxed out yesterday perfectly fine so I don't think it's hardware related.

Edge panels allow you to effortlessly customise any number of shortcuts, a quick swipe whilst browsing neogaf (as an example) can give you the news, access to contacts, your clipboard, screen shot options, access performance and other utilities etc
And when your done a quick swipe to continue whatever you where doing.
Also almost a week in and this phone is still mesmerisingly sexy.

No. It's a WiFi issue caused from the first update.

Weird. I'm on Verizon and haven't had it, and I'm on wifi nearly 24/7. The only errors I've had is messages+ crashing randomly when I'm using different apps.

I wish there was an edge panel for recent apps. I liked on the LG V20 having the 2nd screen at the top that would show your 5 most recent apps used so it made switching between them a breeze. I need an edge panel that does this.
It seems to make the screen brighter so probably hit on battery.

I believe it's the only way the Oculus app will even open when you're using a Gear VR. If you don't have it set to QHD it tells you to do it before opening. That's how it was with S7 anyway.
what is it anyhow? has samsung or any of the carriers put out a statement regarding this issue? I'm on At&T and haven't had this issue luckily
I paid for the bundle too, which is why this is so frustrating. It's been preparing for shipping for like 4 days. No other changes.
I'm on at&t. Never seen that pop up yet.
