What's Your Favorite Sonic The Hedgehog Soundtrack?

Been really digging a lot of Sonic music, and yeah like the title says, what game(s) had your favorite soundtrack(s)? Unlike other fans I don't always think the music is that great (not bad, usually, just forgettable). But when the music is on point, it's on point.

I think the second game in the series probably has my favorite soundtrack, no surprises there. The melodies are super strong and has the classic Sega sheen to it that I love. Definitely the most memorable for me.

It's a tie between Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic CD JPN, Sonic Colors, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Adventure 2.

I really like Sonic R, even though I know the soundtrack is.....controversial to say the least. It's corny I guess, but it's a very sunny, enjoyable album.

Unleashed, Colors, Adventure, Rush, and Generations (if it counts) are probably my top 5.

I'm also emphatically in love with the soundrack to the Advance games, especially Battle and Advance 3.

Tie between adventure 2 and Unleashed.

Adventure 2 has some nice variation and is really really good. Same with Unleashed.

Those are two good soundtracks.

Not counting Sonic Generations, which is a somewhat best hits of songs from the series, I'd say either Sonic CD (Japanese Soundtrack) or Sonic Colors.

Sonic Colors really just has an amazing set of tracks that fit the themepark motif perfectly.

Sonic Rush is love it or hate it. For me it was very much love it. Fresh beats for what at the time was a fresh gameplay style. It's probably my favourite.

If not, then it's Generations. They did a pretty awesome job with the tracks they chose to remix.

First two Sonic games had such beautifully composed soundtracks. Starlight Zone will forever be my favorite however. I'll never forget the first night I was walking through an alley in Tokyo, nearly 20 years after playing that game, and hearing that familiar tune just randomly playing from a claw machine nearby. So random and nostalgic..

I considered choosing Generations for my favorite soundtrack because the remixes are REALLY GOOD , but somewhat felt like it was cheating because there's barely any original songs.

People who say Sonic R is terrible because of its music need to play actually bad Sonic games.

Glares at Screwattack for calling it worse than Sonic 06

Sonic 3D Blast has the superior Genesis soundtrack. Rusty Ruin Zone and Panic Puppet are masterpieces. Heck a lot of music from that game was reused in future games.

Sonic 3 or Sonic and Knuckles. Particularly loved how the songs had their own variations depending on the zone. Icecap theme while skiing down was my favorite.

Probably Generations overall.

3+Knuckles and Adventure 2 are pretty close with each other after that. There so different that it's hard comparing the two though. I think 3+K is more consistent but SA2 has higher highs.

Saying Generations is super cheating but I don't care.

Probably CD and 3 if it doesn't count.

SA2 for City Escape alone.

Sonic CD. I played the US version first and thought it was awesome. Then I bought the Mega CD version from Japan and I can't go back to the US one.
