Capcom expects Marvel to sell 2 million, RE7 2M more, has major unannounced title

"Whatever, at any rate, it's been a whole 9 year since we last met. How about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet how about a kiss from THIS!"

- Capcom, when announcing DMC5

I think the next game it's going to be a Devil May Cry. Is Itsuno busy working on MvCI?

Because Ninja Theory is working on 4 projects and recently stated that unlike with other publishers they were happy working with Capcom, and Capcom mentioned them as an exception of failures when working with western devs.

So I think it's possible that the next Devil May Cry would be again an Itsuno team + Ninja Theory collaboration, something that would make me happy.
Say they are going to promote multiplatform development for the Switch, have 0 multiplatform games announced for the system.

Why not MvC:I?
Switch has the SF2HD Remix teaked port. They can port more PS360 digital games and selling them at $40, plus some virtual console titles.

In top of that their 3DS titles may get new sequels for Switch (and maybe other platforms because now hardware and inputs won't be that different and Switch market is too small compared to the other ones), like Monster Hunter or Ace Attorney.

Monster Hunter 5 with exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn dinos on PS4.
I see this highly being possible.

Itsuno is not involved with Infinite in any real capacity, no.

I could see Ninja Theory assisting with minor parts of development, but no more than that. Capcom scaled back their outsourcing pipeline with their reorganising and are focused on internal development for major titles.

So, it must be a new Monster Hunter or Devil May Cry, right?! I can't think of anything else on their slate which is likely, unless it's a new IP (which would be great).

Marvel will hit that number easily. Just needs an arcade /story mode for the casuals to play through. I still think that SFV had it landed in the bare bones state it did, but had at least an arcade mode, it wouldn't have gotten half the flak it did.

DMC5... It's real isn't it? It's going to finally come true.

from my understandig, more sales for RE7 should be warranted, as also gaf agrees that the game is solid..
marvel doing 2m, i suppose it's doable..
BUT...
if they add some sort of dlc for x-men i'd pass from "doable" to "granted"..

still, i think that injustice might sell more, but you never know..
and you have to consider that the fgc will be quite split this year..
we have new marvel, for mvc fans..
injustice 2 for netherrealms fans..
tekken 7 for tekken fans..
new episodic entry for guilty gear for arc-sys fans..
kof xiv released recently for snk fans..
and sfv is trying to retain its position (ok single player content is shit, but the game is not BAD as far as a fighting game goes, just it's basically tailored around online//multiplayer, that should be the endgame for a fighting game)..

if only bamco gave me a new soul calibur ;_;

but anyway, i'm digressing..
unannounced game, please be devil may cry 5!!! *_*

I think the next Monster Hunter will be new 3DS/Switch exclusive.

I don't. I think Capcom are done with 3DS. There's not really much more they can get out of the system. The series' future is clearly multiplatform though, so expect it to be PS4/Switch at the very least.

Capcom has already spoken about wanting to become more aggressive with the franchise in the west and that handhelds have held them back from doing so. It's pretty obvious which direction the series is heading. They want to bring Monster Hunter to The World.

Thus Switch/3ds multi platform.

With Switch being the 'international appeal' and new 3ds for the Japanese market.

I think there will be separate Mon Hun spin-off based on the movie that will go full multi platform.

I mean, if that's what you believe then fair enough, but when Capcom says multiplatform they don't mean 3DS/Switch, and when they say 'international appeal' they certainly didn't mean Switch because the thing wasn't even out yet and has only sold 3m units so far. Again, I think it's pretty obvious what they mean but a certain group of people don't want to believe it.

I personally would love Mon Hun on PS4/PC but kind of skeptical that it'll bring 'international appeal' like everyone says. Because the game style itself is very different from other western games. Hence why I think the title will be a game based on the movie with totally different playing style.

Have they not done their presentation yet? I'm more curious as to in-depth plans for the rest of the year (like when we got all that info about VR and such).

2 million for RE7 will be interesting to see. The DLC should help. But I don't think they'll see a big jump until Halloween and Black Friday. The game lost its legs on PC and Japan. Where it's been sitting at a standstill of 350K even after a $40 sale on steam and it fell off the top 20 in Japan (though not a lot of sales were going to come from that anyway).

Still it's not impossible. Especially if it starts hitting 20

I think i read somewhere that the RE7 devs are thinking of working on more dlcs after 'Not a Hero' is released.
I really want to believe that the new game is DMC5,wishing for a new Dino Crisis is a lost cause and i don't want to suffer anymore haha.

How are they going to sell 2m extra of RE7?
It's already out on every platform

Price cuts/sales will help but 2m of RE 7 in a year? Probably not. Unless they plan a full content edition but even then. I can see it get 2m more sales over several years tho thats certainly possible.

I gotta say, 2 million for MvC:I seems very doable. Especially since they are expecting the game to sell that much in 6 months (from September to end of March).

Not sure if RE7 will be able to do 2 more millions though. I can see it do an extra million with the sales and discounts, but 2 more mil seems like a lot for that game.

I hope it's DMC5, we had to wait for an unnecessary reboot first. As much as I like DmC it would not exist without the real DMC. DMC is much more deserving of a sequel!

I expect it's DMC but it'll be a bit of a change to the stavdard formula. As in I doubt it's just DMC4 but with better graphics.

As long as Capcom nails the launch for MvCI, they should be fine on that front.

Concerning the unannounced game, as many others have mentioned, it's most likely DMC5.
