Exactly 3 month ago it was "over 25 million".

It's unbelievable how many people are playing this game.
I teach kids (age 7-9) and no day passes where I don't hear about them bragging about how they won that game, or how that ultimate destroyed their opponents etc.
Unfathomable.
It's almost been a year since launch. Incredible numbers.
Not sure what is surprising here, that's the games target market.
To be fair, the same kids talk about Hearthstone daily. Not sure what is surprising here, that's the games target market.
It seems like Blizzard's games in terms of user base now rank like this:
1) Hearthstone (>50 million)
2) Overwatch (>30 million)
3) World of Warcraft
4) Heroes of the Storm
5) Diablo III/StarCraft II
I don't have any numbers or estimates for WoW/HOTS/D3/SC2. HOTS might be above WoW and I'm not sure if SCII is above D3 or below, so I put them equal.
And matchmaking still takes 4+ minutes.

I'd love cross-platform play between Xbox and PS4. It would improve the game so much to increase the player base and cut down on the matchmaking times.
And matchmaking still takes 4+ minutes.
WoW overall had 100m+ players since it was released.
Diablo 3 moved 30 million between the base game and expansion pack, unless you mean current player base.
Talking current playerbase, although now that I say that out loud, I honestly don't know if HS really has 50+ million playing actively.
It's obviously not easy to determine active player base without being Blizzard, but I was just trying to assemble a rough assessment of active players.

Ok real talk, when it was announced i was all like:
"LOL BLIZZURD, Anime Team fortress lul"
Then i saw Pharah... and then Mercy.
"GOAT!!!!"
But yeah, i gotta admit i didnt expect much of the game at first.
Even the OW number isn't for active players.Talking current playerbase, although now that I say that out loud, I honestly don't know if HS really has 50+ million playing actively.

Wasn't the estimate of active players on Hearthstone something like 1 million? 50 million accounts exist for HS but not that many people actively play it.
I feel your pain. And matchmaking still takes 4+ minutes.
And it can still take a couple minutes to find a match.

Yeah! I remember it: "MP Only, $60 ? #RIP"I remember the outrage when they announced it wasn't going to be f2p and people thought the game would die out at its price lol.
One of those games that everybody expected to be a massive success, yet the numbers are still unbelievably high.
30 million players?
I doubt this game has sold 25 copies
