It really makes you wonder, as the art work itself is really good. Shading on point, and anatomy is nicely stylized. The guy clearly has talent, so what one earth made him think the design itself was good.

The best part about Velvet is that like, there's moments where antagonists are meant to be on the watch for bad guys and whatnot or looking for her and nobody seems to notice her, story wise. The costume gets an offhand joke or two but you'd think if they are looking for troublemakers the cast of weirdos running around would set off more alarm bells.
I would say a whole host of the original killer instinct designs. They did a miracle with the new making the characters actually look like not shit.

I don't think that the designs are horrible but I agree that the blindfolds are stupid. They'd look much better without them.

So painful knowing people keep dogging on a very good game series because they cannot grasp the simply concept that FFTA existence did not stop FFT from being made. The only thing that stop it was just how unpopular the series was and or the fact that the creator was busy doing something else.

There is something so unattractive but a supposedly designed to be attractive character. I mean my god, how the hell do you end up with this crap.

Maybe he started with a normal character but the guy's boss told him to add more frills.
Guy adds more frills, but the boss says he wants more. Repeat a few times until the artist is tired of it, makes a version filled with all the shit he can imagine, and assumes the boss will have a good laugh about it before telling him to dial it back.
Except the boss is like YEAH THAT'S GOOD and tells him to ship it.
