God I hate this character. She looks like a freakish, soulless rubber doll.
Shanoa, Alucard and Dracula are sort of spared. The rest... ugh.
Castlevania characters in the IGA games were at least overdesigned in a more tasteful way. Can't stand these designs.
Ya'll harping on Nooj, but have you seen literally any other PS2-era Nomura design? They're all terrible. Look at this shit:
From The Bouncer. Yes, this character is supposed to be a bouncer like you would see in a bar. He has a 10lb weight chained to his neck.
Eh, final design is one of the better Dante designs
yup

Terrible character all round, 4chan incarnate. Put a fairly big damper on my enjoyment of the game - I was enjoying Persona, and I haven't enjoyed a JRPG since the PS2.
He is fine (and Dagger too), but rest of the cast - yikes..
Thankfully her alternative skins are all pretty good, in the same vein of overly stylish, but much better suited. Noire should just have replaced her default skin IMO.
But Sora doesn't look especially good.looks like a slightly older sora
These are all good to great designs. Necalli is supposed to be a brutal hand to hand aztec warrior, and he fits that to a tee. FANG is supposed to be hideous and unlikable. In-game even the other villians despise him. Tracer isn't great but far from terrible, just kind of boilerplate.I'll just post the ones that have offended me over the last year because my memory's jacked.
Necalli, from Street Fighter V. Some dumb edgy caveman with Vs all over his fool self because V is the visual motif of the game.
F.A.N.G, from Street Fighter V. Just look at
Tracer, from Overwatch. A character so utterly by the numbers that the only things memorable about her are the controversy over her ass, and the catchphrase that you couldn't avoid if you saw their marketing at all.
But Sora doesn't look especially good.
He's ok because it's mixed with disney, it's more cartoonish.
I still would have prefered something more inspired than what we often get from SquareEnix.
Uh... have you ever been to 4chan?Terrible character all round, 4chan incarnate. Put a fairly big damper on my enjoyment of the game - I was enjoying Persona, and I haven't enjoyed a JRPG since the PS2.
Yeah, cause that's the problem, not the fact that Monolith has been terrible in both XB and XCX to translate the original character desing in game. XB2 is a giant step ahead in that sense, you not liking the "anime" (as if the previous ones weren't anime lol) style has zero to do with this "objectivity" you speak of.Alternate costumes and mismatched armor sets. Even then I find them more cohesive and the human designs themselves more appealing.

Doesn't seem like there's an end to this diggingAll of Wind Waker. One of the worst art design and character designs across the board in that game. I'd take some of Nomura's belt buckles over the travestity of Looney toon link.
This is an example of people just not getting it.
A lot of actual sinful designs in this thread, but a lot of shitpost too.
I can't decide what is the worst character design I have ever seen in my life, because I normally let myself forget about them, but a recent one that I think is pretty bad from a game I love and play a lot is default Widowmaker, it's definitely the worst in the game.
Let's not lose our 'eads though.Since FFX was already picked (the entire cast is aweful), il go with the other worst looking cast

Batman from Injustice 2.
Oh Jesus christ what were they thinking lolBatman from Injustice 2.

The actual 2D art for SO4 in general is pretty good. No clue why they decided to have the character models go in the totally opposite direction, because they are baaaaad.Nah it's her artstyle and crappy dub. Her handdrawn portrait is much less offensive is and excellent lesson to devs.IF YOUR GAME FEATURES CARTOONY CHARACTERS PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOR AND CEL SHADE YOUR GAME AND PLEASE DON'T CHEAP OUT ON 3D MODELERS. thank you.

You got this backwards here. Widow's the worst and Orisa is one of the best alongside Zenyatta and Ana.Widowmaker is great.
Orisa on the other hand is the only bad design
You got this backwards here. Widow's the worst and Orisa is one of the best alongside Zenyatta and Ana.
Widow's the kind of female video game character design like Quiet that tries way too hard to be sexy and ends up being the opposite because of that.
