Yeah, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I mean, we had Jiren appear as the fourth person from U11 and then they changed it to Toppo.

that is avatar worthy

Also I don't think that is female brolly because how does she become this bandit like ruffian to this

???
It's unclear if they are the same character.
The base form shot of that character that did make it into the opening has her looking serious though.

Toei also mixed up bergamo and lavender abilities and titles and acciddently mixed up Toppo and Jiren, it could be a fuck up
The Bergamo and Lavender thing was just a mistake on the website.

The cloaked figure in the PV that got changed for the actual arc didn't have Jiren's proportions either. It almost feels like they did that on purpose.

thought the ep was just decent tbh

Story was good, outside of my complaint about how Gohan just gets Ultimate back, but visually it was kinda just passable. It's certainly far from the worst looking episode in Super, but compared to the other episodes this arc is was pretty meh.

The last few episodes have been disorientating, still not feeling the power levels shift. I guess Piccolo is more powerful than big Buu now?

I thought fembroly is with Toppo team?

We don't know that, and we're unaware yet if they're different characters.

Yo, Piccolo hanging with Ultimate Gohan and that move with his severed arm was one of the coolest things I've seen in all of Dragon Ball. Piccolo should always be a relevant fighter. Always.

I mean, you would hope that after years and years, the strongest characters would surpass enemies that have been dead for years.

If you meant fat buu, well he also got more powerful.

yeah, pretty much.
Also thought the process to the transformation wasn't...great. It was alright.

So Mystic Gohan is equal to what...SSJ3?
Mystic Gohan was light years ahead of SSJ3 Goku in the Buu arc.

If today standards Goku turned into SSJ3, that would be a whole new discussion considering SSJ transformations are simply multipliers and Goku never stopped training.

Far above back in the Buu arc, should be even stronger now.

Goku confirmed Gohan sucked though "compared to his original power".

Which is also another way of saying "hey hello, remember how the incompetent writers fucked up with FnF :D ? Well fuck that it's gone".

No more Tagoma being stronger than Gohan at his peak that got defeated with Super Saiyan Gohan in one blow, I guess.

Kind of a disappointing episode. I liked what PIccolo was teaching Gohan (the arrogance and letting your guard down parts), but Gohan turning Mystic after being told "always fight your best" was kind of lame... I actually wanted PIccolo to tell Gohan "you've fought better for much less (turned SSJ2 because 16 got killed). Now that Videl's and Pan's lives are in danger, this is the best you can do?". Plus it was weird that he basically powered up straight from SSJ2 -> Mystic, and the actual transformation... well it was ok. I'm pretty sure the animation quality in DBZ/Kai during the Buu saga for Mystic was quite a bit better. The end result was good though.

yeah, showing one of the best gohan looking fighting moments didn't help

The draw style in Buu saga is the epitome of Dragon Ball until today, whenever they show flashbacks with that original material I get kind of sad. Super sure got better with time, but oh boy it took me a while to not hate it.

Not even talking about animations, that is something that was always inconsistent in all sagas.

This is straight crazy, love it

Gohan was matching Goku when they sparred, so it should still be far above SSJ3. The question is how far is he from blue?

Well majin buu was a big deal in all of U7.not even Frieza was allowed to touch him before he teained those four months

Edit: i wish there were more training gimmicks like the time chamber or that gravity spaceship Vegeta uses, would be a bit more interesting to explain them becoming more powerful.i remember 18 using standard gym equipment

Because he is indestructible, pure evil, and can absorb people / turn them into candies and whatever.

His brute power was relative to enemies he faced.

Uub (with kid buu's power) is gonna end up stronger than everybody else after Goku trains him. :)

But it's not incoherent that characters could get stronger than Buu after he died now that they saw how strong he was.

Look at how Frieza got to blue level in 4 months. Buu could have easily matched him if he faced him over time. (kid buu anyway)

Nobody's gonna talk about how they just butchered my dude's tail? Poor dinosaur just wanted to watch the fight.

Also, yeah the art direction for Super kinda sucks. Gohan going Mystic looked so underwhelming compared to the DBZ days. Nonetheless, I'm excited to see what else he and Piccolo can do.

One was shown as a brand new power-up. In Super it is just Gohan getting all his power back. So it isn't as big of a deal. That is like complaining that none of the Super Saiyan transformations are as cool as the first one. The same with Super Saiyan 2 where Goku and Vegeta just hopped into the form with no fanfare.

Yo, talking about tail.

Where is Pan and Bulla's tails? Goten and Trunks never had tail too, in Trunks case even when he was a baby.

He didn't say that, he said "considering his original power, he should have been able to do better."
Piccolo talked about how Gohan is strong in this episode and told him that it doesn't matter how strong he gets if he can't evoke his "original strength" and tells him about how his "overeagerness" is what's holding him back and later tells him about his arrogance.
Basically the issue is that Gohan has been fight wrong, not that he's weaker, Piccolo tells him that he's strong more than once and that that isn't the issue.
Through out the episode they say "power" and "strength", but seem to be specifically referring to Gohan's Ultimate from more than anything.
Either way they're going to train more.

To be fair they *did* make a huge deal of Gohan regaining SSJ2, being a huge enough power to signal Goku's IT before instantly crashing Gohan.

Oh my god Toshio (Super's writer and script writer) responded to Kagari, SolVanderyn and me.

Bout to faint.

I had to throw in I was happy for 17 too so that he didn't think we only cared about Gohan over here ;o and he acknowledged it.

He said it was all thanks to Akira Toriyama (there was an interview where it was said he gave approval to make the characters like 17 and Gohan strong again) and that he is happy to make us fans happy.
