It's also weird because having recently re watched a bunch of the earlier season episodes, jack was always clearly straight. Like did they miss the episode where Jack crushed on Aku pretending to be an attractive women before the reveal that it was indeed Aku for instance?
It's been a good long while, but I feel like Code Geass could get pretty intense at times.
That was one I was actually a part of and honestly it made me realize I don't care for them having multiple love interests in a show where romance isn't the focus and would much prefer them pick one and just develop it.
Granted, there was never really a winner so I guess there weren't the same kind of meltdowns you would expect. I'm sort of dreading them bringing it back up in this new sequel.

I think the worst I've seen was indeed Naruto. Entire threads were closed. New rules banning shipping talk were made on manga forums. It was hilarious and bad.

That is pretty much how it felt to me whenever I stumbled across a shipping discussion regarding that manga. Only a minority would root for Onodera.
Didn't really upset me (more of a "...really?" reaction), but Rukia ending up with Bleach's Yamcha was odd.
Although Bleach had died, been resurrected into undeath as a mindless zombie, and incinerated by that point. Kubo probably drew a few storylines out of a hat for the last few chapters and just chose those to wrap up.

Not that ive noticed. People want pb and finn but i like the idea of pb being someone who only sees him as a friend and he has stronger feelings that he needs to get over, because thats a very real thing that will happen to everyone and not a bad thing to teach to some of the young kids who watch that show. PFinn and flame princess, and pb and marcy is the correct pairing.

I remember browsing gaf's Overwatch fanart thread and apparently the lesbian couple of Mercy and.. Pharah (I think?) is a popular "ship", but when Blizzard put out a comic hinting of a Mercy and Genji well.. much salt.

There were plenty of people salty in The World That God Only Knows because Keima actually hooked up with one of the girls. The interesting thing is that most of the dislike of it was because most people believed it was out of character for Keima to choose a real-life girl at all and preferred it end either ambiguously or with him rejecting all of the girls.

Chihiro - the "plain" girl that turned out to have a crush on Keima the entire time, so they actually averted a ton of negative tropes - Chihiro is supposed to be a plain, normal person so it really didn't dig into any wish fulfillment bullshit - it was just a girl that happened to like him prior to any of the plot related stuff happening.

The salt is particularly funny because they try to make it out that the doctor-patient relationship would preclude Mercy and Genji from being together when the entire Pharmercy ship is based on Mercy taking care of Pharah.

Clearly the naruto one is the best because we still got people salty about it in this thread right now. What really annoys me about the whole affair is that instead of giving the story/characters some real closure and finality Kishi decided a better ending would be to focus on who paired off romantically.
The best part is bringing up the doctor/patient complaints, which is dumb because it was used for Pharmercy as well. Also an example of shipping people based on nothing. Even TracerWidow had more going for it.

At the very least the downfall of Sakura into a needy idiot unable to move on gave us one of the best female characters in the franchise.
