I'm in Life Support area in the Air Filtration area and there is a poltergeist. How come I can't scan it? Even when I have it gloo'd I can't scan it. Is this one just not scannable? I'm afraid I won't run into enough poltergeists to finish my scans.

What's the deal with the eels? Just a call back to dishonoured?

Same jellied eels model I think.

Oh wow didn't see that. Lore-wise, the eels are used to 'process' human waste (aka. toilet water) on board the ship so they don't have to launch turds into orbit. Then they kill and 'process' the eels and eat them. Ah the circle of life.
Just out of curiosity on the escape pod side quest,
was it possible to stop January from killing December? I was thinking maybe if I killed January beforehand, assuming that is even possible.

Yes you can. I believe you can even
kill both

There should be a computer somewhere on the station where you can download the complete research data on poltergeists.

Really? It was the first one I scanned. It might be a bug or something.

I'm stuck, I need to "
access the reactor control room
" but I don't have the password, I tried watching a few walkthroughs on Youtube but everyone just hacked it but I don't have hacking II. Does anyone know where the password is?

I don't remember anything about the password but
there was a hatch on top of the control room
.

yup.

also, for when you do reach the control panel,
don't bother activating any turrets in that area because incoming Technopaths will just possess them

I only played from start to halfway through hardware labs on ps4pro. Slight occasional judder but nothing that distracted me too much.

Some gameplay clip i recorded. Before patch you couldn't turn nearly as fast as you can now, really suits the gameplay better.

Hmmm....I hope DF do another video testing it out with the patch. I'm willing to buy the game on Pro and play again for the res bump over XB1.

so I have just realized that I have not once used the dart crossbow gun thing.... not once.

I never came across a scenario where I could use it...

As an example, you can
open the armory in Psychotronics without letting the convict out of his cell or hacking the keypad
.

I used it at the morgue. But you can also waste 2 points on mimic which is worth it anyway. Thing is a waste of inventory space.

I've used it in a few places, like security stations where you can shoot it at the computer screen to unlock the doors. I also used it to press the button to get into Skill Recording underneath Volunteer Testing in the Neuromod division.

I'm pretty terrible at this game apparently but I use it to blow up those nest things.

I totally use the dart gun to destroy cystoids/nests and for pressing buttons and touchscreens I can't reach (though the touchscreen option hasn't come in handy yet). It's also useful for distractions. I'm surprised at how much I've used the thing, actually.

Any word on possible PS4 Pro enhancements? I'm hoping for something in that area before I start a second play-through.

Took me 45 hours to beat it, but I really enjoyed it. The story was really interesting and I honestly didn't see the twist coming.

Overall, this game was really freaking good. One of the most immersive games to come out in awhile.

Try it out, you can switch difficulties at any time and there are no difficulty related achievements. As someone who's very familiar with this type of game, and you are too judging by your avatar, Nightmare is not too challenging imo. I chose to keep it on Hard though because I wanted to save Nightmare for another playthrough to make a second go as different as possible.

I think this and Doom are a great pair of games that illustrate how first-person shooter games can be soooo different that the typical COD-two weapon linear path. I'd love to have a Bioshock Infinite follow-up where I could explore Columbia like Talos I and have the same skill tree setup and freedom.
I feel like that sort of Bioshock Infinite would be better as a bit more Deus Ex and less System Shock, just because of the NPCs and that it shouldn't be as innately hostile... but yeah, I was hoping Bioshock Infinite would go down a path like this and the fact it went MORE linear is why it'll stand as one of my largest gaming disappointments, even if the game was still good.

I used to open doors like this, fuckin awesome design

On a less positive night, been struggling with the game this evening....I'm in life support after G.U.Ts maybe im not meant to be here yet, but fuck me there are alot of enemies.

Gonna ask this one more time!

I am, combat is getting very frustrating and if your on console id imagine the load times would make this unpleasent.

My friend was just telling me this, too. I put it on hiatus hoping for a fix and it looks like it paid off. Assuming there's still zero word on Pro support. :/

Prey currently includes base requirements for PS4 Pro and we’re aiming to support additional enhancements with new updates planned for the game. When we have more details and timing on the update to share, we'll let everyone know.

Turns out Prey had "base" PS4 Pro support this whole time (it just doesn't seem to do a whole lot). News about possible future Pro enhancements is forthcoming...
Pretty disappointing honestly. Hopefully they get this and the ongoing PS4 deadzone/input-lag thing sorted out soon.

I've been suspecting since pretty early in the game... can I ask, is the twist that
you aren't Morgan Yu - you are a Typhon that got Morgan Yu's donor mirror neurons and you're in a simulation to test whether they have been successful in introducing empathy to the Typhon.

Hopefully I'm very far off.

played prey for 5-7 hours straight last night from 10-12am to 5-6am. got me hooked. fully upgraded shotgun and psychoshock 3 = winner. completed at 15 hours (did most of side quests, not all - i thought some of the side quests just dragged on too much so i end up not bothering to do all. i might if i do another play through on harder difficult with different abilities). i didn't enjoy flying around in the outer space around talos 1; it was too slow and boring; that was the only big flaw of the game for me. and the twisted ending was neat.

performance in prey (pc version) started to suffer at
the shuttle bay
. the performance continued to suffer for bout an hour even after i left
the shuttle bay
. restarting it fixed the performance issue (i was taking a break for 5-10 mins - didn't know restarting it would fix the issue). other than that, an excellent port.

prey has strong legs to continue being sold decently imo to warrant a sequel thanks to it being excellent and positive word of mouth. expect a sequel.

Wait, is Prey doing well in sales?

I realized before I took leverage 3 that I could just pick up and throw level 2 items into the level 3 stuff and knock it out of the way 95% of the time, saved me a lot of mods I would've used otherwise early

You can also use Recycler Grenades to recycle large/heavy objects if you have a few to spare.

Gained access to many rooms with that trick.

Alright, finally beat the game.
I kinda figured SOMETHING like that ending was coming, but I was guessing at bits and pieces (did Earth already get fucked up? Was that a vision of the future or the actual present?) and the idea of trying to humanize Typhon made me figure that I was quite likely playing as one, perhaps even a restored phantom of Morgan. Wasn't quite expecting the simulator angle, at least not until the premature game over blatantly implied it anyway.

About to start it

Not sure whether to redeem the cosmonaut shotgun pack. From what I've read its important to put your neuromods in the right places, and having 3 bonus ones could unbalance that.

Gameplay spoilers:
You can manufacture more later anyway.

So I heard that you don't need to exactly find all of the crew members for that Missing Persons achievement, just around 90% of them or so. Would be nice and hopefully I won't have any other issues cause dealing with IT and Yellow Tulip supply closets kind of sucks currently.

3 neuromods is nothing by the end of the game and the shotgun is just a skin with no actual stat bonuses over the standard shotgun. I'd be more concerned about the shotgun shell plan and recycler charge chipset. The former can be found in the game anyway but getting it early may make things a bit easier in the early game as you won't be as short on shotgun ammo, while the later isn't in the game otherwise and can make some things later in the game easier than normal. Still, you could just not pick those up if you don't want them.

Yeah as long as you find most (like 80-90%) it should pop. same with the email and audio log ones.

Got to Deep Storage and hit two glitches. First, I grabbed the hard drive and then fell through the walls, ended up in space and dead. reloaded and now it won't let me grab the hard drive. What gives?

I dropped it to easy. 100% over the combat, still loving the setting.

So I just started playing on PS4 with patch 1.02 and the imput lag is fine, waaaay better than what I experienced in the demo for sure

But my character is slowly moving on its own, like its sliding very slowly sometimes, really annoying stuff. Is that a common issue? (My controller is fine and in the Demo I had no issues like this)

I'm going to be real pissed if the XB1 patch introduces tearing and frame rate issues like PS4. Just fix the inventory glitch. I love this game just the way it is.

It does make it MARGINALLY easier to get a shotgun earlier, but there's another in the same zone you just have to figure out how to get to, so it doesn't really change much.

Tearing was already in, though a rare occurrence. Would hate if it occurs more frequently as the frame rate is getting quite bad at times as it is.

How does Chris Avellone write so much?
Just finished the game and really enjoyed it. Def picking up Dishonored 2 soon.
Really like the music in the game, especially the band song.

I'd be in the dick
Framerate seems way worse after the 1.02 patch on PS4 Pro with Boost Mode on. Constant mid 20s. I booted into the game right out of sleep mode so I was playing a bit before the patch installed. Difference was obvious right away.

That one scared the hell out of me, i was way below level and getting chased by enemies so quickly ran into the room thinking i was safe. NOPE

If you have a Swedish/EU code, I can buy it off of you since my UK code isn't redeemable on my account.

I
rebooted to station
last night. How much do I have left? Particularly interested in any point of no return in the story.

I've pretty much been mainlining the story while exploring and doing everything I can in any area I'm going through. So I haven't gone back to the starting areas at all, and this also means the
neuromod fabrication plan has been locked for like ten hours
.
I have almost 100 of all the materials so I may have a bit of a power spike whenever I get that unlocked..

Beaten.
My main complaints are about the pace [I know, it's mostly up to you, but still...] and the aesthetics, too much tied to BioShock style.
For the rest, is the best immersive sim since the original Deus Ex, no contest.
