Oof, so I had gone through with my Bricklink order, and everything seems smooth except the guy who had zero reviews. The other 5 people all sent out the invoices the same day, but with this guy it's stretched over the weekend till now and still nothing, which isn't TOO bad, but... now he has two reviews on his account, and they're both negative (both saying no response from the guy whatsoever, and one that he took the money and still nothing). So, guess I need to cancel and reorder from someone else, probably?

Gonna be a pain, because he was one of the two bigger orders from the cluster...

Edit: Ugh, having trouble making things work otherwise. Gonna play with bricklink some more, but... man, it's gonna suck if I suddenly end up with a like $40 more expensive order than I had expected thanks to this nonsense...

One of the reasons (the other being space) that I gave up on CITY... the Friends theme doing a better city theme than CITY will ever achieve.

The most recent CITY hospital (from 2012):

Yes, the helicopter is a joke, but in a theme with a million helicopters does that matter?

Why does that guy have a banana? Did he eat one too many and is being hospitalized with indigestion or what? And why is he smiling while he's being brought in?

So many questions...

It's what he did with the banana that got him in the hospital. And its a two sided face, the other side is a grimace of pain, like before and after.

Yeah, that pretty much covers it i guess... Sometimes i wonder if those things are put there intentionally by the designers for us to come up with crazy shit like that or if it's all a coincidence...

Let's be fair, at least the CITY line remembered to put a door on the Helipad to get the patient inside.

That hospital looks modular to me, like the hotel. Can't the floors all be stacked? I'd assume that's a good reason not to have doors on the sides.

For the clearance legos at Barnes & Nobles, are they specially marked or do you have to bring them to the register to scan them?

I saw tons of legos but they all had retail prices and I didn't see any scanners to check.

Saw lots of minecraft legos, force awakens legos , anger birds, etc.

The guys at the location I checked said if it's not on the clearance table it's not on sale. Nothing was on the clearance table aside from Minecraft.

Nexo Knights Ultimate Clay's swords may be passable. Might be too futuristic looking.

Yeah, I tried that one but the dark blue just doesn't look right. I might try to make the Beasthunter Saif, my favorite weapon.

----

On another note, is the Brickforge (I think that's what it's called) stuff any good; I'm guessing it's all Lego compatible? I saw an empty box of blind bags at TRU the other day and there's a Geth Trooper minifig in there -- I must have one!

Got shipping notification this morning. Saturn V should be here by Wednesday. Might marathon build it that night since I leave for vacation in Thursday.

So I figured out how to better figure things, and the price difference won't be THAT bad... but now I'm kind of worried about Bricklink's order cancellation process. I went ahead and filed a request to cancel, and now I apparently have to wait until two weeks have passed to force it 100% cancelled. So I guess my question is... on the unlikely chance that this person actually does pop back up, and for whatever reason decides to be a jerk and goes like "nope, not gonna cancel it", then would I be screwed, on the assumption that I reorder the stuff from elsewhere now? Just wanna get all the parts in so I can finish this thing, so I don't really want to deal with the extra wait period here...

(The negative reviews have now gone up to 4 all saying this stuff, so I think it's pretty clear that the seller is a bust at this point. And since there are people saying "I paid and they haven't shipped my stuff", don't really want to give them money on the off chance that they do come back at this point anyway...)

FYI for those ordering Saturn V at BN. Their computer systems also have stuff like modulars, Creator Expert, UCS, etc. in there to order and get the 10% off on. You just need the UPCs to order them.

Sorry its a little late but got the Batgirl set built.

Fun little build, the actual size of these minidolls keep surprising me for some reason. They look so much bigger than mini figs in pictures but they really aren't. Love the headpiece on Batgirl here, its pretty adorable. The batwings on her back are plastic and there is an extra one if you wanted to try it out on a regular Batgirl fig or something. Some neat pieces come in the set, some of the tooth pieces in black and some purple pieces. The tube launcher piece in purple is probably going to be a bit rare in that color. I usually hate these net launcher pieces because they are so useless but the way these one is worked into the jet build works pretty well.

One of these crystal thing builds came with the Krypto polybag too. They are kinda cute in a mixel type way. An extra printed face piece came with it too.

Overall for the price its worth a pickup if you are a Batman fan for the cute Batgirl minidoll and the batjet build isn't bad at all as far as bat vehicle builds go. It's a shame the set only comes with one minidoll but that is a running thing with these Friends type sets so its not changing any time soon.

We do get great discounts at Continente (around Christmas and Children's Day - which is coming up soon!), but the selection is limited.

no Creator Expert sets @ Continente :(

The selection in Continente is terrible. Or at least in the ones I visit (Leiria and Caldas da Rainha). In Leiria you have a small toy shop across the Continente in the Leiria mall that has Creator Experts, but their prices are out of this world. Often a 20 to 30 euro mark up. I guess they just order from S@H and then sell them.

This will be an inconvenience once I move to Portugal (which me and my wife are talking about more and more). In Belgium I had easy access to good toy stores who often discounted sets, and often carry a (smaller) selection of Creator Expert and in one case even UCS. I guess you can't have free shipping from Amazon Germany either?

dont know about Amazon Germany but we no longer have free shipping from Amazon UK for some around 2 years now.

No modulars @ Continente really sucks.

amazon begins listing some new Star Wars sets... (yo amazon, feel free to throw up that bounty hunter pack... i'd love to impulse buy it)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XRR8MJM/?tag=neogaf0e-20

i'm shocked target carries it (in store?)

nice job though

Man I want that bounty hunter pack but i feel it's going to be a hard find. I hope I'm wrong.

I do hope it sells great though since it may mean more figure sets.

I really missed the old "box full of minifigs from a specific theme" sets, but am glad they brought them back in some forms over the past couple of years, though I wish they did it for all themes.

I still remember how awesome it was to buy the box fig set of Space that came with Blacktron dude, Magnetron, and others, plus the fact some of the accessories were great.

Uk doesn't have free shipping to anywhere in Europe. Germany to Belgium adds some small amount of tax or something, but never much. Maybe Amazon Spain?

I actually always buy modulars from Lego though, as they are never discounted anyway. But for Star Wars stuff it's always better to have a toy shop. And now I think about it, in all my visits to Portugal I never encountered a big toy chain. I did find a small independent Lego shop in (I think) Évora, who had modulars.

Damn, if I had the money to invest, i'd think about opening a Lego Store in Lisbon, haha.

Power functions questions:

I'm working on the Mixer now, and down the line I'll be getting the Ferris Wheel and (new) Carousel.

Can you run multiple things off a single battery box? If you can I might spring for the rechargable, but if not I'll be wanting to go for individuals. Is there a maximum number?

Do the projects build the battery box into the infrastructure, or is it off to one side somewhere? i.e. if I can hook multiple up to one box, would I have to have one that housed the power with the others wired up to it?

The AAA battery box says this:

Powers 2 XL-Motors or 4 M-Motors at once

Also, I think I'll go for one of those myself. The rechargable one with charger costs a fortune, and it's not like I'm planning to have these functions permanently on. I'll just get a M motor now for the carousel and then add stuff once I get space to put up the carnival theme.

Nice work. Preordered 2 sets! How durable are the prints and chroming?

The prints are just as durable as lego (same process) the chroming i've yet to test thoroughly, but removing and putting the arms off doesn't seem to remove any chrome from the joints which is pretty good

Hmm I'm having trouble deciding between the Saturn V and the Batwing. Obviously the Saturn V is a much better value, but I kind of like the look of the batwing more. Looks really badass. I want to get the Saturn V first since lego ideas sets have a more variable lifespan (could only last 6 months with supply issues like the Exo Suit for all we know). I could probably just pick up the batwing a year from now for 40% of if I really want it.

Ordered a bunch of stuff on Star Wars Day online at LEGO, they cancelled all but two trooper packs and still gave me the R2 polybag.
