Muchi Muchi Pork is probably my favorite 360 release. Mushi Futari is probably the most universal suggestion I can make, though. Awesome core game suited for all difficulties, awesome port, accessible price, region-free.
RFA is such a great package, too.
muchi muchi pork/pink sweets for sure.
pink sweets arrange is the shit and fun for a 1CC
muchi muchi pork has 1.01 mode which is 100x easier to loop than 1.0 which by default makes it more fun than 1.0 (the lard meter build-up/usage is much more lax too).
the price tag on ebay is ridiculous, but if you look in the right places you can still find copies for $90 or so.
I have Under Defeat on PS3, love it. Still need to get Radiant Silvergun...Under Defeat HD! If you don't have it on PS3 obviously...
Radiant Silvergun is a good version too, shame it's not on PC yet.
I know, right? But which places would you suggest? There are so many....
In all seriousness, this is the last region free 360 shmup I am looking for. I have a CRT TV in my office I only use for 360 shmupping (and occasional PS2 use) and an arcade stick I modded with a Seimitsu lever.... I love my 360 for this reason alone, but still no MMP/Pink Sweets. I have been keeping my eye out for Muchi Muchi Pork -90$ would be a lot easier to rationalize than the 150$ish on eBay.
yep, all the cave games are on the japanese store, if the disc is region free then the download is too.Didn't realize it was available digitally, nice.

I know it's sort of a barebones port but the emulation isn't great in MAME (in my experience) and I am just weirdly interested in the game. Chubby monster girl shmup seems like it's designed for such a specific niche, I want to find out if I may be in it. How would I ever know otherwise?
Also for what it's worth, I like Guwange a lot, definitely worth it for the sale price. I dig the yokai enemy designs, find the environmental hazards interesting in such a bullet heavy game, and using the shikigami to deal with them makes the game satisfying from a survival perspective to me.

If you dont mind it not being physical then create a japanese account, buy some credit and download it from xbox live. Its still region free so anyone can download it and will cost around $40.
Its actually not that barebones, both games come with arrange modes that are really fun, the screen scaling options are the only lacking part of the package.
Do you need to use a JP proxy for the initial download only? I wasn't sure how that worked and couldn't seem to find a definite answer at the time. I guess if it's region free, it wouldn't require a check. I managed to get it to work for DDP Resurrection DLC, so guess I can manage it.
Is the CS version of Darius Burst just a bunch of different bite-size levels with reskins of bosses? Should I be playing the AC version instead? I have the Vita version if it matters.
I LOVE the game so far, just feels a bit repetitive.
CS mode is where you have actual progression. Unlock ships so that you can use them freely in any level. The bosses are more than just reskins - different versions of bosses also get harder as you advance. And you haven't even seen the last few types of bosses.
AC mode on Vita... might be too small to see anything, to be honest. And it's not that it's less repetitive, it's just that you're playing an arcade-length set of levels each time. Original and EX are just a simple branching set of levels, and Chronicle has thousands more levels than CS (you basically don't have enough time to pick out what levels you're actually playing, and you won't even see a fraction of them, ever).
To download the DLC for the region free DDP Resurrection from the European store, I had to connect my 360 through a proxy. Once it was downloaded it was accessible just fine. I figured it is the same for full games, but have never actually triedif the disc is region free then the download is too, no need for a proxy.
edit: if you mean do you have to use the japanese account to play it once downloaded then no. you download the game to your xbox using the japanese account but can then use your normal login, once its on the hard drive it makes no difference which account plays the game.
Ah, cool. I'll stick with CS mode then. And yeah, a few of the mid-quest bosses have destroyed me. That damn turtle took forever.
Does Visionnerz play in any of the levels? The Gaiden mission was fun, but I didn't get my real jam.
hype hype hype etc. Wasn't expecting the artist change.Good news! Senko no Ronde 2 will be released on 6 September, it seems!

Visionnerz played for me on my very first Gaiden mission.
(I went right at the first branch in the levels)

cs mode can be pretty tough with the preset ships, especially those that dont allow any power ups or extra shields.
if you have not played through all the arcade routes and got 1cc's yet i would get familliar with that mode first, i think its a much better way to play around with the various ship types, get to grips with the burst cannon and naturally learn the boss attack patterns as you go through it.
I've hit a wall in CS mode... Hungry Gluttons and Thousand Bullets are destroying me.
Any advice? They just won't die, I can't even get through their defenses.
19xx is far superior . Vertical scrolling games with a horizontal display just don't feel right.

Yeah, he had a pretty epic anti-drug tirade going on despite knowing nothing about what he was talking about and got adversarial when people called him out on not even being willing to educate himself on the subject.Dang Iwakura got banned?
I played 1941 some weeks ago and quite enjoyed it. I feel like Capcom's 19XX series is rather underrated, though tbh I can't get into the older games in the series being the 80s ones

I had no idea about Gunbird. Tried Gunbird 2 on Dreamcast. Capcom aesthetic of the 90s was something else. Very nice to throw you right in the start of the last round when you continue. They even kept the arcade slowdown in the second stage. Too bad EU/US versions removed the voice acting.

gunbird 2 is such an underrated/awesome title. I actually love the "medal-flipping" chaining scoring mechanic (or whatever you'd call it). play it on MAME quite frequently and have streamed it a handful of times, but it's a hard 1CC for me. I'm lucky to get to (or through) stage 4..I had no idea about Gunbird. Tried Gunbird 2 on Dreamcast.
Why the huge price differences on Raiden FIghter Aces?
But content is the same?
