I agree this happening on US soil seems weird, because like you said if this is a "secret cult" them getting away with what was shown in the teasers and this art is pretty unlikely unless the rest of the US is intentionally casting a blind eye to whats going on, or this is satirical lala land USA like GTA.

I dunno if its going to be ingrained in reality or fantasy with underlying truths, the Trump Adminstration is now part of Assassins Creed canon so who knows what they will do to explain why this is occuring in Far Cry.

You guys should read up about Colorado City, Arizona. It's a town run by Fundamentalist Mormons and used to be the home of Warren Jeffs - now sitting in prison for felony child sexual assault. He had like 70 brides some of which were just children. The Government has a long history with this town and mostly turned a blind eye to what was going on there. I differ on that. I actually liked Connor and his inner conflict. I felt Edward and Ezio were a little too James Bondish as opposed to how I felt an assassin should be. This is my personal view and I know lot of people don't like Connor.

This IS Far Cry, since 3 at least. And it's a great direction. It gives you a goal, you want to fuck up that bastard for all the rotten shit he does. It also gives a lot of great character moments. The boss of FC4 is done in mostly radio broadcasts and even then it adds SO much to the game it's ridiculous. Having an enemy with a strong personality makes them memorable. You remember Vaas and Pagan Min. Their personalities clash so well with the protagonists. I love it, they can just keep doing this forever as far as I'm concerned.

I guess if you look at it as you said, "this is Far Cry" then I guess it's ok. If they made a conscious decision to theme all the games in a similar fashion and make that a central theme for the series.

It kind of sets an almost Saints Row style cheesiness to the series that I didn't see it for, but I guess I will have to in the future.

And yeah the Vass and even more so, Pegan Min interactions were great.

Far Cry 2 was awesome, 3 was okay but not as mind blowing as some people seemed to find it and I burned out on 4 after a few hours and haven't touched Primal. I am probably ready for another Far Cry. I find very little controversial but I would like to see a game go places in the murky parts of Murica.
