Street Fighter V |OTVIII| New Delayed Generation - Controversial Inputs

A talking gorilla just doesn't fit in the Street Fighter universe. SFV needs to come back down to earth and stick to believable characters like Blanka.

Would you guys like the gorilla to talk or no?

He should talk but unlike every other talking Gorilla in comics/movies/games, I want him to not sound like some hyper intelligent scientist and instead just shit talk a whole lot.

And make a lot of gorilla puns.

I hope SF gets a playable gorilla.

On second thought, I don't think we're getting the gorilla. The silhouette's proportions are way too human.

Can someone explain that new girl's design to me? Is her mouth really big and open or she just has a round purple orb for a face? Besides this she looks cool but I will be pissed if she replaces Rose.

Being a team game doesn't make creating each character any less costly.

Creating a character doesn't suddenly take less time/money/resources because it's a team game.

In fact, being a team game probably makes it harder to create characters, because balancing must be a nightmare.

Good post. Each character in a fighting game does require a lot of resources regardless of what kind of fighter it is, and like someone else mentioned, previous entries in the VS series have had far lower rosters. However, what disappoints me the most isn't the roster, it's the lack of a good aesthetic, colour and models in the game - even the stages look barebones at the moment.

We're getting a Symmetra lookalike this season and a Gorilla next season?

If there isn't a SFxOW event at some point in the future both companies are leaving money on the table.

Not the models per se, but the attack animations. If you played MvC3/UMvC3 for a good while you could instantly tell they were reusing animations for some of the characters like Hulk and Thor. Heck, I think even Ultron had a couple of animations borrowed from other characters in there.

Hmm I guess some of do look pretty similar.

Now I am kinda bummed that we will have to wait another 2 - 3 months before the 5th character gets properly revealed. The visual design looks really promising.

I never thought I would have a game that would compete with KOFXIV in that department. Still, there's time?

I think the ps4 version got a minor face lift. The shadows look different.

Yep. Shadow dithering is gone.

In 3 months? I'm not sure, but I would love to be proven wrong. Don't get me wrong I still think the game will do really well, especially with the infinity stone shenanigans, but I hoped for better visual presentation that Capcom is known for.

Her face is facing up. She has purple hair.

Aah thank you. Thought she was looking at Ed and just couldn't make anything out of it.
Glad she doesn't have an orb for her face.
If she is related to Rose that kind of fits my 'theory' for characters this season having ties to a particular game;

Ed: Street Fighter 4
Kolin: Street Fighter 3
Abigail: Final Fight
New girl: Street Fighter Alpha
???: Street Fighter 2?

...no?

The headpiece, orb in the hand, boots, and general feel all feel way closer to her than they do Eliza.

She could easily be Egyptian, but there's virtually no design elements shared there aside from the hair.

That looks nothing like Symetria, she even has the same hair as Eliza. It's like the exact opposite of what you said.

So they actually did buff rog's TAP in the patch...

How?

He probably meant Pharah. Or he meant "another brown character".
No, I meant Symmetra, the girl with a dance background, flowy clothing featuring thigh-high stockings, who likes to wear stuff covering her face and frequently has glowing orbs shooting out of her hand.
