I would say Paragon is a better experience in this kind of game with 3 lane creeps, last hitting, and snowballing effect of getting pushed off your lane too much. The devs just need to seriously realize how unintuitive their card system UI is. Utterly confusing and screws over new players. It took me awhile to get it.

So how long before they start paying people to play their game? It's getting sad.
Barely broke 800 concurrent players on Steam after the change. It will be dead as fuck again in a week or two. Randy being a dumbass as usual telling everyone "it's totally a trial and not F2P! no game of mine should be dishonored like this assessment!!!!" hasn't helped either.

not defending Randy because, well he's a bit of a dumbass, but I would say 87% of Gaf thinks F2P is a curse word the way the forum acts towards f2p games.
In fact, as ridiculous as he sounds, in his mind this is exactly why he doesnt want to label it f2p (not because of gaf specificaly, just the internet in general towards f2p).

This game give me a bit of a headache so far. I feel so low to the ground as the fungus healer. Maybe I should try changing the fov. The cartoon style makes things blend in so much that it's hard to tell what's going on at the moment. I need a always on enemy bar option (I'm sure it's in the game but I'm taking a break).
This is how it looks to me with all settings on max. Notice how everything looks a bit flat. I'm sure it's the style, but with so much going on it's stressful for my eyes.

To be fair if you staged a photo to put as much on the screen as humanly possible at one time, I think there are tons of games on the market that would look like that. I mean, they either staged it to fill it with as much stuff as possible, or it's just edited.
They made sure everyone in the game hit level 5 at the same time so that the little message on the right popped all at once alerting teammates that they've unlocked their super. Oscar Mike left his gear alert up letting him know he had enough shards to unlock gear instead of buying it. Left his alert up letting him know to level up. And for whatever reason he is standing in an El Dragon dragon splash pool, even though they are a ways away from the enemy and Dragon is a melee attacker, which means that pool should be off in the distance where the enemies actually are. etc etc. BB's UI throws a lot of information at you but in real gameplay it's never that hectic.

It's unrelated for sure, most likely to help ease the loot box situation for the anniversary event. It's just bad luck if it has an effect.
Hope it helps. The game is not the best. I liked it though. Got it in a bundle I think and played a few hours. Only real reason I stopped was that no one I know plays it. They all play Overwatch or another regular MOBA instead. The game may no deserve to be as success but it deserves to have a somewhat decent playerbase.

You know you fucked up when going F2P doesn't even get you 1,000 concurrent players. Even Evolve's brief resuscitation attempt managed to get around 10,000+ players back for a little while.
For him it sort of is, because that would mean having to admit defeat on one of his earlier promises. This way he gets to at least pretend otherwise.
It's completely unrelated, but I did also get a kick out of seeing the announcement. Even setting aside all its other problems, Battleborn was and continues to be an extraordinarily ill-timed game.

The thing is the game is actually pretty fun. The multiplayer is a solid feeling MOBA, particularly on consoles. But the marketing and messaging surrounding the game was so damn poor, and continues to be with this 'free trial' malarky.
If it was marketed as being F2P I guarantee you'd have a lot more people interested in giving it a second chance than a 'free trial' which makes it sound like some kind of demo to a game most people are already switched off on. Demo != F2P. And despite Randy arguing on Twitter about semantics, there's no reason they couldn't have gone the F2P route and bundled the campaign into a package on the store.

But GAF is massively outweighed by the millions who play F2P games. Also games like Warframe and Planetside 2 are F2P and generally well liked around these parts.
Rolling out this as a trial means F2P players won't try it and gives little incentive for anyone else to try it, hence the pathetic non bump the game has had.
Go full F2P or just give up Randy. At this rate this is going to be a bigger F2P bomb than Evolve.
Edit: It still requires PS+ OR XBL Gold? Fucking hell.

It's really hard to say given the Randy Pitchford factor since he seems to refuse to admit defeat or he was wrong. He may be able to force Gearbox to support Battleborn for longer than they would have otherwise.

When Evolve went F2P, it got 10,000+ concurrent players for a short while before it dropped off rapidly.
BB still didn't get more than 1,000 on day 1.
Pitchford can't even give this thing away. That he largely spent the day making an ass of himself over Twitter is not exactly helping things either.
