Sounds fresh and exciting. Hopefully it turns out well. I mean AC3 was pretty ambitious too and tried many new things but the systems didn't come together well and what we got was a bloated mess of a game at times.
He will become the founder of the Brotherhood (I don't know how this makes sense lore wise?)
Gameplay doesn't exist in a vacuum. Even basic/simple/repetitive gameplay can be fun to do with if you enjoy where, when, and why they're happening
Climbing around the landscapes never got old in AC not because of the simple controls or the ease, but because of where you're climbing and exploring.
Yeah that's not 'one'. With open world and side activities, I definitely played with her more. The campaign might have been disproportionate but it isn't the disparity you described originally.
Ancient Egypt, so everyone's going to be dark skinned right? ...Right?
This could end up being really tedious, having played Unity especially. You can no longer one hit enemies that are more powerful than you with your hidden blade
I will say that it's gonna be trite, dull, and ultimately mar the experience for me when you, I'm sureinevitably use the naval combat to kill Mark Antony and slip Cleopatra the snake.
We're splitting hairs here and I really just took exception to your 'one' assessment but Evie is a protagonist by any definition. I'll leave it at that. The campaign is what counts and Evie isn't a protagonist. She is not the most central to the plot. If you remove her the game still hobbles along, without Jacob it doesn't work. Jacob literally had all the big assassination targets aside from the Evie tutorial mission and Lucy Thorne. Jacob gets an entire sequence to himself and has the most missions in every sequence. She's a Deuteragonist at best. Dual protagonists to me implies equal importance to the plot which isn't the game I played. And I say this preferring Evie to Jacob. The developers preferred Jacob. And it shows.
Yep. I love the series but AC has never handled 'heavies' in a very satisfying way so I'll be curious to see what that mean she for this game. The Janissaries in Revelations? No thanks. This could end up being really tedious, having played Unity especially.
I hope they know what they are doing, because sponge enemies are a pain in the ass to begin with, but sponge enemies immune to stealth kills? Ew.
Everything else sounds great.
Well it's an Egypt ruled by Greek people so...
There were still plenty of dark skinned people in Ptolemaic Egypt.
The combat needs to be improved. I always enjoy the worlds in these games but I get bored with combat pretty quickly.
So they are going toretcon the origins of the Assassins?

Holy goodness at those details - this world building is going to feel completely different! In for it all!
No mention of a jump button tho.....
And I don't like the fact you can't assassinate enemies with a higher level than you. Now it means when you see a high level enemy, instead of having a thrilling sequence where you try to find the right way to sneak up on them for the kill and escape their high level companions, you just avoid them. This probably also means headshotting people is gonna leave humans still alive and running at you with arrows sticking out of their heads *sigh*.
We don't know that.No mention of a jump button tho.....

We don't know that.It more likely means you need to weaken your powerful enemy first before going in for the killing blow, with stuff like poison and animals and other skills/tools
Technically, all the details are from article scans and it seems to be the status quo in this thread. No reason to change it nowAs long as they give you reasonable stealth options to deal with all enemies.
Also, why are we spoiler tagging this?

So if I haven't followed the stories of the previous games I should still be good to go?

Awesome, the game sounds great so far.Very little continuity in AC games nowadays and this is basically a soft reboot so no need to follow previous game at this point

Devs asked the same question. What do legacy features add to the game and gameplay besides being legacy features? What can be kept, what can be changed/Improved/discarded?All of that sounds good on its own, but I'm not sure about it being an AC game.It sounds like it could have been a completely new IP.The eagle view not highlighting characters, no sprint button, no insta-kill with the hidden blade,...
Also I'm not sure I like the fight buttons being shoulder + trigger, especially when you have to press both at the same time.
Why do people keep talking about porting and getting things to run on scorpio like thats supposed to be a big deal?
shouldnt it be running all xb1 games by default?

IMO, sounds like you're focusing on minor mechanical details that dont really define anything about the game. Except maybe the last one
we'll see about the main character because I disliked all of them after Ezio (I played all mainline entries except for Unity).
Because they got it at 4k and stable 30fps within two weeks on the devkit.
Im pretty sure gi wasnt made privy yo either of those specifics given the way they spoke of the them.
They mention that the screens were small and and that scorpio's fps was smoother than the pc dev build, which is well.... yeah..
Not a lot of credibility on that front
